Synthesis of Prolinol-Based Phosphonate Nucleotide Analogues
Vaněk, Václav ; Rosenberg, Ivan (advisor) ; Černý, Miloslav (referee) ; Moravcová, Jitka (referee) ; Pour, Milan (referee)
4. Conclusion A series ofnovel isosteric 3'-nucleotide analogues (9a-e and l0a-e) was synthesized, cr-t-- and B-t--prolinol nucleoside N-methylphosphonic acids distinguished for the loss of unambiguously defined configuration at the nitrogen atom in 3'-position of prolinol nng. Remarkable conformational differences between cr-L- and B-l-prolinol nucleotides determined by NMR study suggest some similarity with the natural 5'-o-nucleotide. The same conformational changes in o-series of prolinol nucleotides fit even better the 3'- and 5'-o- nucleotides. In addition, a series of four diastereoisomeric synthons 5-8 was prepared from the commercially available lrans-4-hydroxy-l-proline, giving access to a complete set of prolinol-derived nucleotide analogues bearing cr.L-, B-t--, o.o- and p-o-conÍiguration. In order to constrain the conformational flexibility of the N-phosphonomethyl moiety, seveÍal protected compounds were subjected to N-oxidation or N-methylation which gave chiral N-oxides or quatemary ammonium salts. However, the synthesis of the respective unprotected phosphonic acids was unsuccessful, probably due to their fast decomposition. Acylation ofthe pyrrolidine ring nitrogen atom by several acylphosphonic acid derivatives led to the novel N.phosphonoformyl, /y'.phosphonoacetyl and...

The Development in the Northern Ireland after the Good Friday Agreement (1998-2008)
Čapková, Zuzana ; Soukup, Jaromír (advisor) ; Dopita, Tomáš (referee)
This bachelor deals with an ethnic and religious conflict which divided in recent years the society of Northern Ireland into two irreconcilable communities. The negotiations brokered by the Irish and the British governments between major political parties in Northern Ireland in the late 90s opened space for a new phase of the peace process which ended in the signing-up of the Good Friday Agreement. The Agreement enabled to set a government and for the second time to reiterate the devolution suspended in 1974 because of the 1969 violent clashes. This work analyses a ten-year-long development in the province after 1998 underlying the political situation, the accomplishment of the peace process and the convergence of the population. Treating the operation of the new institutions based on the cooperation within Northern Ireland, between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and between the Irish and the British governments, in the centre of the attention there is a decommissionning process which has split up considerably political participants and Northern Irish society and has prevented for a long time from dealing a compromise. Among the other issues is to impose the reform of the police service and the review of the criminal justice system, to contribute to reconciliation of the population of...

Alternatives to formal care for children of preschool age
Vocílková, Andrea ; Dobiášová, Karolína (advisor) ; Tušková, Eva (referee)
The bachelor thesis "Alternatives to formal care for children of preschool age" deals with preschool childcare in the Czech Republic, with focus on its alternative forms. This issue needs to be discussed as the capacity of public nursery schools is insufficient, therefore the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs has published Set of Pro-family Measures - Pro-family Package. In this package legalization of new forms of preschool childcare provided at private or non-profit basis is proposed. These alternatives, those that are currently regulated and public nursery schools and crèches as well are described and then the current situation of prepared changes in alternatives to formal care is introduced. These issues are also subject of qualitative research, which constitutes the following part of the text. In this practical part of the text expert interviews were held to explore experience and attitudes of preschool children's parents and carers from preschool facilities about these forms of preschool childcare. According to primary data the positives and negatives of different forms of preschool childcare are identified. The result is that for both parents and carers the child development is important, so they would prefer the increase of nursery school capacities rather than expansion of alternative...

Political influences on Czechoslovak Radiojournal between September 1938 and March 1939
Veverka, Luboš ; Bednařík, Petr (advisor) ; Köpplová, Barbara (referee)
In the present work we strive to describe those political phenomena which influenced, directly or indirectly, Radiojournal Ltd., the only radio broadcaster in Czechoslovakia during 1923 - 1939. However, it is the period of the so-called 'second republic' that can be approximately set between the conclusion of the Munich Pact at the end of September 1938 and the occupation of the rest of Czechoslovakia on 15th March 1939, which is in the centre of our attention. At that time, the system of politics, power and social situation underwent a reconstitution marked above all by centralising efforts hand in hand with the suppression of liberal and democratic principles. Sometimes we talk about the so-called 'authoritative democracy'. Radiojournal could not escape these changes. Formally, it was a private company with 51 % of shares owned by the state. And civil servants or politicians themselves were members of the managing and supervisory bodies of this institution ever since 1925. This situation was maintained also during the 'second republic' when the grip of the state became even stronger. In the new situation, proposals were made to nationalize the institution. However, a number of changes were not implemented after all due to the short duration of the 'second republic's' domain. Many of these...

Changes in perception of work
Svatoň, Ondřej ; Petrusek, Miloslav (advisor) ; Mareš, Petr (referee) ; zatím nezjištěn, nerealizuje se (referee)
The concept of work became one of the central ideas in theories focused on the explanation of social processes. It is included in theories of Durkheim, Weber and Marx. Social theories based on the European Christian tradition deal with this substantial problem, too. The nowadays prevailing way of understanding the role of work in society is based mainly on the economic attitude to the social world and we can see this ideological stereotype when reflecting negative impacts of work on the everyday life and on forming human personality. Examples of these attitudes can be found in the contemporary sociological thought. New technologies affect the social perception of both paid work and the "society of work". The diminishing share of routine paid work on the total production of goods and even on offered services can not be explained only in terms of economic theories that assume the rationality of production and consumption. The traditional meritocratic principles are set to question. Changes in the perception of work also affect the perception of wealth that differs in post-modern society and in agricultural or industrial societies. The study aims at proposing new way of explaining social processes by putting stress on connections between labour market, resp. division of labour and distribution of power in...

Innovation processes in the Czech and Bulgarian language situation (based on media language material)
Niševa, Božana ; Martincová, Olga (advisor) ; Savický, Nikolaj (referee) ; Gladkova, Hana (referee)
The problems of the innovation processes in the present-day language systems have been essential to the current linguistic research. In general, this thesis is focused on a synchronic contrastive description of the types of innovation processes producing and inf1uencing the lexical dynamics of the Czech and Bulgarian languages. Doing so, it stems from the generally accepted view that, depending on the criterion applied, the individual innovation processes may be made correlative with various dynamic tendencies of a more complex and universal nature, L e. with signs of intellectualization and democratization, intemationalization and nationalization, terminologization and de-terminologization ofthe Czech and Bulgarian literary languages. Chapter I presents the methodological and theoretical starting points of the research. By means of a model designed by B. Havránek and developed by A. Jedlička, the following parallels between the Czech and Bulgarian language situations are being set in it: a) political and social changes in both societies and new orientation of interests of the members of the "language (communication) community"; b) widening the spheres of use of colloquial and non-literary linguistic devices; c) increase in the number of users of foreign languages, especially English; d) spread of new...
