ABSTRACT: The thesis deals with adult education in providing first aid. The theoretical part of the thesis is about development of amateur education in providing first aid, studies conditions, possibilities and attitude of adults towards self-education in providing lay first aid. The practical part of the thesis surveys a group of randomly chosen adults using questionnaire survey methodology to examine their motivation for self-education in providing first aid, factors influencing education of people in this field and to find both effective and underrated forms of adult education in first aid. The goal of the thesis is to map today's possibilities of self-education in first aid, to inquire people's and society's motivation for self-education in first aid and to analyze conditions for general education in this field. Analysis of Adult-Education Asociation Activities in the Czech Lands in the Times of Austro-Hungarian Empire (1848-1914)

This thesis deals with the analysis of the adult educational association activities in the Czech lands during the period of the monarchy ofAustria-Hungary (1848-1914). The Czech society was subjected to development being part of the multinational Habsburg Empire affected by the modernization process of the second half of the 19th century. The ideas of capitalism, industrialization and urbanization marked a series of changes in the economical, educational, political and cultural area. In the second half of the 19th century, the initially united national-emancipatory stream fell apart into separate trends of adult education. The process of centralization reached its climax together with the forthcoming adult education specialization. All the cultural engagement resulted in the founding of the Union of adult education (Svaz osvětový). The thesis takes a closer look at the physical education and women adult education activities and the national unions activities. An analysis follows of the main characteristics of the pre-war adult education: the intricate co-existence with the German nationals, the culture link to the political interests or copying foreign models. "Educational institutions: business in turbulent times". Diploma thesis named "Educational institutions: business in turbulent times" is focused on actual problems concerning business of adult education institutions during the time of the turbulence. That time is being mentioned as the period during and after economic crisis, which is characterized by constant change, uncertainty and chaos. In diploma thesis there is described the impact of turbulence on the market of Czech Republic and implied paths for educational institutions to proceed in order to remain on new market environment. There are presented new concepts for management of educational institutions in terms of strategy, sales, financial and marketing. The theory is supported by taken over research regarding actual problems and trends. The main practical part of diploma thesis is econometric model, which implies the relation between investments to adult education and some macroeconomic indicators. The essential source of data for model calculation was the database of Czech statistical office. Educational opportunities of adults with hearing impairment

This thesis deals with possibilities of education of adults with hearing impairment in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the thesis deals in the first chapter with the basic terminology of the branch. The second chapter focuses on communication of persons with hearing disabilities. The third chapter is devoted to problems of adult education, lifelong learning, tertiary education and also brings the greatest possible comprehensive list of organizations dealing with this issue and the current offer of education. The final chapter is devoted to the question of quality of life and the related job opportunities for these individuals. The main objective of this thesis is to analyze the current educational opportunities of persons with hearing disabilities. Partial objectives of this thesis is to analyze the sufficiency of existing supply of educational possibilities, the level of awareness of people with hearing disabilities about this offer and satisfaction with the applicability of the knowledge thus acquired in the labor market. Strategies for Overcoming Barriers to Participation in Adult Education

This thesis deals with the issue of barriers to participation in adult education. Survey, which investigates the strategies used for overcoming the barriers to participation in adult education by parents on parental leave, has been prepared on the basis of the contemporary theoretical knowledge on barriers to participation in adult education and inequalities in participation in adult education. Parents on parental leave are one of the groups with uneven access to adult education and they are deterred from participation in education because of situational barriers. Research participants (n = 6, M = 34.5) participated in semi-structured interview, which consists of seven topics related to the respondent's personal history, his academic and professional career and the circumstances of his life. Based on the data, the conditions and mechanisms that help to overcome group-specific barriers to participation in adult education were identified. On the basis of the common elements of respondents' answers the economically oriented strategy for overcoming barriers and the alternative strategy for overcoming barriers were defined. The role of a teacher in low-threshold courses of Czech for Foreigners

The thesis deals with the subject of the role of the teacher in low-threshold courses of Czech for foreigners provided by The Centre for Integration of Foreigners (CIC). The thesis is divided into a theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part is divided into three main parts. The first chapter explains the term "low-threshold", which is later put into context of foreign language education organized by the state or non-profit organizations. We focus mainly on NPK CIC. We cover how the courses are built, what is their content and what are the specific of (large) heterogenous classes. The second chapter focuses on adult education in general. We cover the basic of adult education and introduce the key competencies that are developed at NPK. The third chapter covers the adult's teacher. It defines who the teacher is and what his competencies are. We also compare the demands that the teacher has to meet in schools or when they are a teacher at NPK. The chapter covers the role of the teacher and analyses the usage of these models in the environment of NPK. Attention is also paid to team teaching. Education of employees in the multicultural organization

Résumé This thesis focuses on the education of employees in international corporations. Its aim is to introduce this problem in a broader context, especially that of international business. Firstly, in this work an international corporation is understood as an organisation, firm or company in which individuals of many different cultural backgrounds meet and interact. Therefore, the thesis also occupies itself with subcategorie of cultural theories, the characterization of an international corporation as such and, moreover, international personal management with an emphasis on managing expatriates. However, the most attention is paid to certain educational specifics of international corporations. The processes of adaptation and reintegration are described in detail as are the problems of intercultural learning and intercultural training. To conclude, this thesis attempts to summarize theoretical bases and to bring forth new ideas on the basis of study available Czech and foreign literature in the context of the given issue.
Secondary education for students with mental disabilities and their employment possibilities on the labour market in the Zlín region

Thesis is focused on possibilities of secondary education of students with mental disabilities and their subsequent employment possibilities in the labor market. The theoretical part of the thesis is discussing basic concepts related to the issue of mental retardation and aspects of education and employment of persons with mental disabilities. The last chapter of the thesis provides an analysis of the current possibilities of secondary education of students with mental disabilities and possibilities of work placement in the Zlín region.
Issues in education of officials of territorial self-governing units in Ostrava

This diploma thesis deals with the education of officials of public administration on the level of territorial self-government. The aim of this diploma thesis is to evaluate a system of education of officials of territorial self-governing units on example of a particular town district authority in Ostrava, to identify problematic spheres and to propose the possibilities of their solution. After introductory determination of the problem in the beginning of the thesis there are theoretical solutions stated and there are contemporary trends of development in education of officials in Europe outlined. Afterwards there is an origin of contemporary system of education of officials of territorial self-governing units in the Czech Republic described in the context of reform of public administration which is followed by the determination of legislative framework, by organisation of education and by overview of participants engaged in this sphere. In empirical part of the thesis there is a research of education of officials at the town district authority in Ostrava implemented and the results of the research including identification of problematic spheres are compared with results of similar researches. Didactic of vocationally education

The thesis is divided into two parts. The first deals with the theoretical view of the vocational education, its development and specifics. The next section describes the differences between education of adults and children. Then the work is focused on the personality of the lector and didactic process, its aims, methods, forms and tools. To conclude the theoretical part summarizes the principle of feedback. The second part is summarized of research where respondents are lectors themselves. From research we know how much are they competent to exercise the profession of lecturers from the point of view of teaching, respectively didactic. The research used the questionnaire with closed and open questions.
