Problem behavior of children with autism spectrum disorder - solution by method of applied behavioral analysis

The dissertation is covering Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) and its particular factors for elimination of problem behavior in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The provided text is divided into five parts; firstly, the focus is upon definition of ASD, the classification and autism triad of impairments. Secondly, a list of interventions provided for ASD children in Czech Republic or in the world is provided, followed by abbreviated descriptions. Afterward, the development of ABA and its basic methods are described to some extent. The most important names connected to ABA are mentioned as well as a record of the main concepts of the therapy. This should clear the understanding of what ABA is and how it is conducted. The following part focuses at ASD childrens' problem behavior. The functions of behavior, Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence (A-B- C) analysis and strategies helping to reject problem behavior are thoroughly described and discussed upon. The last but not least, the fifth part is dedicated to a case study. The case study focuses on a girl with ASD going through intensive ABA therapy daily. Characteristics of the girl, her development, professional evaluations and tables with graphs from the therapy are provided by the attending ABA facility.

Educational Specifics of children with rare disease in special need school

This diploma thesis is focused on education specifics of children with a rare disease at a special primary school. In the theoretical part, the author describes three specific rare diseases - mucopolysaccharidosis, Prader-Willi syndrome and Smith-Magenis syndrome. Deals with the manifestations of the disease, treatment options and the arrangement of the education for these children. In the practical part the author inquires how teachers work with a child with a rare disease during the day at special primary school. The thesis also inquires what specifics the educational process brings to teachers and where do the teachers find the sources for their methods of work.
Support measures in the process of inclusive education of pupils with mild intellectual disability

This bachelor thesis entitled Support measures in the process of inclusive education of pupils with mild intellectual disability deals with the use of support measures for pupils with mild intellectual disability in inclusive education. The aim of the thesis is to find out what form of support teachers provide in mainstream schools to pupils with mild intellectual disability beyond the support measures recommended by school counselling facilities, what support measures are most often recommended for pupils with mild intellectual disability by school counselling facilities and what form of support teachers use for the best possible integration of a pupil with a mild intellectual disability into the class group. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part explains the basic terms (mental disability, inclusive education and support measures). This This thesis concentrates on the issues faced by family carers, who take care of their family members diagnosed with the Alzheimer's disease. Special education also relates to seniors and its principles can therefore be used in this age group. The goal of this thesis is to discover and describe challenges faced by the family carers while they support their family members with Alzheimer's. The thesis focuses on the Alzheimer's disease itself, its causes and risk factors. The thesis also concentrates on the origins of the disease, its stages, diagnostics and therapy. Next, psychic and physical burdens of the family carers are depicted. The thesis also introduces organizations that specialize in providing informal support for the family carers and relief care, and disease related legislation is listed. Charles University Prague The diploma thesis deals with the issue of individual (home) education in the Czech Republic. It aims to introduce an alternative form of the approach to home education, where the implementation is transferred to an educational association. In the theoretical part, the work specifies the basic concepts and describes the mentioned issues. It also clarifies the legislative approach and compares it with other approaches to individual (home) education both in the Czech Republic and abroad. The main part of the work is focused on the presentation of the possibility of home education through an educational association. The research part of the thesis covers the processing of this issue from the perspective of legal representatives. Burnot syndrome prevention among teachers of pupils with intelectual disability

The Master's Thesis addresses prevention of the burnout syndrome in regards to teachers at special needs primary schools. These teachers work with pupils with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities, multiple disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. The theoretical part of the paper deals with the causes, risk factors, and prevention possibilities of the burnout syndrome. It deals with the burnout syndrome as a general phenomenon which affects the entire population. It furthermore addresses the risk of a burnout in teachers and the risk-factor specifics of this group. Furthermore, it outlines the specifics of education at primary schools for pupils with special needs. This part provides needed foundation for the actual research. The practical part of the thesis contains an analysis of a research conducted at a specific primary special school. For the research, I used the qualitative design method in the form of interviews. The interviews were conducted with five teachers and the director of the Kindergarten and Primary Special School Diakonie ČCE.
