The phenomenon of political marketing entered - together with democratic political competition - the Czech Republic after 1989. Together with parliamentary elections in 2006 a strong negative election campaigns appeared. The parliamentary elections in 2007 proved a stalemate and they launched a long period of political instability. An unusually sharp and mostly negative election campaign proceeded in the Czech Republic continuously during the years 2006 - 2010. For the first time foreign advisory firms prepared strategies for the biggest political parties - ČSSD and ODS. The election campaigns were characteristic not only of mass enter of negativism imported by the foreign consultants, but also of a great number of anonymous mocking and defamatory political advertisements, the customer and the payer of which was unknown and unable to find. The negative campaigns then introduced both the question of ethical limits in the election marketing and of the harmful influence of opaqueness in contracting and financing the campaigns. The thesis is dealing with regularities of political marketing which got control of Czech political scene in 2006 - 2010, and it formulates hypotheses about the possible effecs of negative, defamatory and mocking political campaigns on the environment of Czech public politics.

Slováková, Andrea ; Kaňuch, Martin (referee) ; Hanáková, Petra (advisor)
Diploma thesis Interpretative strategies for films with a low level of narration have analyzed perception of mainly experimental films that are non-narrative or have a weak narration. Its goals were to articulate model of this perception and describe the main interpretative strategies. For defining a range of films for the research, firstly it is necessary to define key terms. Using theoretical knowledge and main characteristics of narrative as can be found in the works of the notable film theoreticians, especially Edward Branigan, David Bordwell, Carl Plantinga, Murray Smith, Seymour Chatman or Torben Grodal, I formulated definition of narrative film: The main feature of narrative film is continuity and time anchor (especially in relation to other events), organization of data that need to be related to each other in a recognizable way, which is based on causality. Active agents (living beings or other agents) have to be necessarily present and their actions include intentions and development towards the goal. The ordering of a narrative whole often includes beginning, middle and end, that together create a thematically and mostly (but not necessarily) also stylistically coherent unit. The definition of non-narrative film results from the notes excerpted from those texts of narratologists who take into...

The project of Boris Akunin - an example of literary strategy at the turn of XX-XXI centuries
Volkova, Natalia ; Glanc, Tomáš (advisor) ; Janáček, Pavel (referee) ; Sýkora, Michal (referee)
This work deals with the literaturary project "B. Akunin", which was defined by it's creator G. Chkhartishvili as a "quality literature for the mass reader". When they wish to characterise the project, critics emphasize the use of an adventure plot combined with interesting style and intertextual play. We see a tendency to place the project in the "middle level", which in their hierarchy is somewhere between the literature created for the "happy few" and consumer fiction. However convergence of mass and elite culture is too general a trend in postmodernist literary strategy to be sufficiently characteristic of a concrete author. Our research covers all the texts published to the present day under the names of both G. Chkhartishvili and B. Akunin. It was the part of the extratextual strategy of the author to construct an image of himself as a writer of serious, almost scientific prose, who began to write detective stories for his own and his readers' enjoyment. The author generally uses mass clichés whenever he describes his heroes and action scenes in the story. He uses a great many simple references to the other literaturary works in his texts which should be understandable by every reader. At the same time we find other, more complicated references requiring knowledge of a wider literary "encyclopedia"....
