Further activities of Czech Centres are evaluated through SWOT analysis and the Strategy for 2012 - 2015. In conclusion, the thesis focuses on the activities of Czech Centre in Brussels with the concentration on promotion of export activities together with the specific strategic proposals to improve its promotion of export policy.

Molecular factors of artherogenesis in chronic kidney disease with experimental model of chronic inhibition of Nitric Oxide Synthesis and its Effect of HMG-CoA reductase inhibitoin
Lecian, Dalibor ; Matouš, Bohuslav (advisor) ; Tesař, Vladimír (referee) ; Zadražil, Josef (referee)
The experimental part of the thesis covered the markers involved in nitric oxide deficiency model in rats. The analogue of arginine N-nitro- L -arginine-methyl ester ( L -NAME) was used. L -NAME administration resulted in sustained elevation of BP, decreased GFR, and in higher albuminuria compared to control animals. The administration of hypolipidemic drug - atorvastatin to Wistar rats was studied. The statin used caused lower albuminuria and prevented decreases in GFR in L -NAME rats without having an impact on hypertension. CAV1 protein expression was similar in all groups of rats. In contrast, VEGF expression and RhoA activity was increased in L -NAME-treated animals, and normalized with coadministration of atorvastatin. Clinical part of the thesis focused on the analysis of markers of oxidative stress in obese and non-obese patients with CKD and after kidney transplantation. The patients with CKD had elevated serum concentrations of AGEs, sRAGE and ADMA with the maximal concentrations of AGEs in the patients on hemodialysis. The successful kidney transplantation decreases the AGEs, sRAGE and ADMA concentrations but not to normal value according to general population. Patients with obesity exhibited lower concentrations of sRAGE in CKD as a protective factor for cardiovascular disease. Concentrations of...

Jandová, Anna ; Mhamdi, L. ; Nedbalová, M. ; Čoček, A. ; Trojan, S. ; Dohnalová, A. ; Pokorný, Jiří
Effects of exposure to magnetic fields are investigated by means of the Leukocyte Adherence Inhibition assay using T lymphocytes taken from healthy humans and from patients with malignant tumors before and after medical treatment. Exposures to magnetic field 0.1 mT and 0.05 mT have similar effects. Effects of exposure to AC and DC magnetic fields are similar too. Increase of adherence after exposure support the hypothesis that magnetic field changes immune function in humans.

Sedlák, Luboš ; Žalud, Luděk (referee) ; Kopečný, Lukáš (advisor)
This master’s thesis describes a sensorial subsystem of a mobile robot. The thesis mentions the structure and a basis of the satellite navigation. There are also described each systems and visualization techniques as e. g. WGS 84, including also other systems for specification of more accurate position on the Earth (EGNOS, WAAS and others). This thesis describes closely also a differential GPS and the corrections. For the purposes of the thesis there has been assembled GPS software for a fundamental and a remote station. There have been chosen and used modules for receiving a GPS signal and wireless modules for their communication. There are also used outcomes from the project of the Open Street Map in the thesis. Results of this project are described in details, decoded, adjusted and converted into RNDF file. At the end of this thesis there has been composed a function of the program for portable camera which works on principle time of flight. This portable camera is dedicated to look for immediate barrier and also for 3D space view in front of the robot. This thesis also including the process how the power source has been built up for this portable scanner.

Srovnání vybraných nástrojů dobývání znalostí z databází z hlediska implementace asociačních pravidel
Lízler, Robert ; Nekvapil, Viktor (advisor) ; Rauch, Jan (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with a comparison between two selected data mining software tools, LISp-Miner, developed at the department of information and knowledge engineering at the faculty of informatics and statistics of the University of Economics, Prague, and Rapidminer, a globally popular software suite. The focus of the comparison is mining for association rules. The aim of this work is first to provide a user-oriented evaluation of how the software tools compare in the selected area and second to attempt to discover some interesting differences between the results of how the software tools implement association mining procedures. To reach these goals, the software tools will be tested and evaluated by the author according to a selected set of criteria, grouped into 3 categories: functionality, usability and performance. The work is structured as follows: chapter 1 sets out some theoretical background and introduces the software tools, chapter 2 evaluates the available functionality of the tools for various steps of the overall association mining procedure, chapter 3 rates the software tools based on their usability and user-friendliness, while chapter 4 summarises the results of testing the software tools on a selected data set.

Modulace exprese alfa-synukleinu pomocí působení 5-S-cysteinyldopaminu na buňky lidského neuroblastonu SH-SY5Y: možná úloha katecholthioetherů při neurodegeneraci
Hrabáková, Rita ; Štaud, František (advisor) ; Mladěnka, Přemysl (referee)
-Synuclein is a presynaptic protein which has been demonstrated to be involved in PD etiopathogenesis.It can regulate DA homeostasis by inhibition of TH activity, by regulation of the DAT activity and finally by potential role in vesicular storage. - Synuclein is a natively unfolded protein, which can undergo overexpression and aggregation due to toxic insults or oxidative stress. The aggregation of α-synuclein leads to a loss of function, which in PD neurons may determine a dysregulation of the DA pathways with subsequent excess of cytosolic DA, that can enhance the neurotoxic effect of α-synuclein aggregates. In recent years, a catecholthioether metabolite of DA, 5-S-cysteinyl-dopamine, has been identified in certain dopaminergic regions of the brain, notably the Substantia nigra. Cys-DA seems to have a possible significance as an index of oxidative stress in aging and in neurodegenerative processes and it was recently hypothesized that this substance or its metabolites may be the endogenous neurotoxins responsible for neurodegeneration in PD. Hence, the aim of this experimental work was to determine whether Cys-DA is able to cause overexpression of -synuclein both at transcriptional and translational levels in a cellular model of PD, the human neuroblastoma dopaminergic cell line SH-SY5Y....

Pedotransfer functions for estimation of moisture retention curves of medium-heavy soils of South Moravia
Gavlasová, Iva ; Doležal, Petr (referee) ; Kameníčková, Ivana (advisor)
The most important characteristics of each soil is its hydro-physical properties, which include retention curve. Retention curve expresses the relationship between humidity and pressure head. It is course affected by many factors such as grain size and mineralogical composition, humus content, structure and bulk density of dry soil. This thesis deals with direct and indirect determination of one of the basic hydraulic characteristics of the soil, soil moisture retention curve. For laboratory determination of moisture retention curves were used for sand tank and pressure instruments. Measured body retention curves were optimized RETC program. For indirect determination of retention curves were used Pedotransfer function by Wösten et . al .(1998 ) , derived from the European soils and under HYPRES Šútora and Štekauerová (2000). As in the project Wösten et al . (1998), PTF were processed for arable land in the area. The accuracy of both models PTF was assessed by the correlation coefficient R and standard error RMSE. Simple models PTF provide estimates of retention curves with sufficient accuracy for practical use in the locality.
