Learning through experience, its potential, mechanisms and connected phenomena
Kos, Andrej ; Smetáčková, Irena (advisor) ; Štech, Stanislav (referee)
This thesis aims to illuminate the potential for personal growth in learning through experience. The paper also tries to describe the principles of learning and connected phenomena and the mechanisms, through which its acteurs gain the option to achieve personal growth. To support its theoretical claims, an observation has been conducted in the duration of circa four months among three after-school activity groups. The observed phenomena have then been interpreted in terms of theoretical concepts of learning, experiencing, the dynamics of small groups and personal growth provided earlier in the paper. Based on the observation, a system of "learning situations" has been constructed and its characteristics and mechanism, through which its acteurs can achieve personal growth, explained. Key words: Learning, social learning, group activities, free-time activities, personal growth, leadership, social attachement

Diploma thesis "Leisure time (current situation analysis of the content and spending the leisure time among youth in the Czech republic)" is focused on the approach of the youth to the leisure time and highlighting the importance of leisure time activities for successful personal growth. In the theoretical part, I define what the leisure time is and specify terms used for youth and education in the leisure time. I describe functions and purposes of the leisure time, the importance of the content of the leisure time, factors influencing the selection of leisure time activities and I mention some approaches used in other countries. Further I describe the development of the youth policy in the Czech republic, the role of the state in the youth policy, the legislative amendments and contextual strategic documents connected with the youth policy. In the analytic part I have used current empiric researches and analysed PISA 2003 data using SPSS. The aim is to answer three questions. How do the youth people spend their leisure time? Is there a selective approach? If yes, what are the reasons? Is there enough institutions providing leisure time activities in the Czech republic? I have also analysed state institutions and bodies related to the youth in the Czech republic and analysing all providers of...

Neuhöferová, Eva ; Ferklová, Alžběta (advisor) ; Hanyš Holemá, Irena (referee)
This master's thesis is based on the specifics of physiological development in middle childhood and searches for the pupil's natural behaviour at this stage. It begs the question as to why movement is so important for the human being and what role locomotion plays in having good postural habits. It highlights the magnitude of movement for child development and shows that physical activity is an inseparable part of our lives. The third chapter is about dance which is perceived as one of the oldest forms of human art. I look for displays of dance in everyday life and describe the particularities of expression in dance in middle childhood. Finally, I highlight the benefits and its educational dimension, values, and use. The following chapter talks about dance and movement education as a supplementary education field and its implementation in the FEP. The practical part describes an application of five dance lessons. These lessons were taught by a pedagogue who had no previous experience with teaching dance and movement activities. The main reason for this decision was that, in the future, a pedagogue could teach the lessons regardless of their past practice with dance and movement education. The three key observed factors are described below. Firstly, from the pedagogical point of view, I reflect the...

Lenka Volfová DEPARTMENT: Department of Biology and Enviromnental Studies (Katedra biologie a enviromnentálních studií) SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Kateřina Jančaříková, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: This thesis explores interspecies communication and, specifically, natural communication between the man and the horse. Through comparative research based on a programme developed by Ing. Josef Liška (Liška Solutions) for the assessment of the participant's personality, employing several exercises with a horse from the ground, the thesis aims at introducing ways in which horses can be used for the purposes of personal growth. For the purposes of this thesis, volunteers from three groups were assessed under this programme using the method of direct observation: teachers, business executives and people who work with animals. The assessment was carried out by marking down points and comments. On the basis of the results obtained, the above three groups were subsequently compared among one another. The research shows that teachers excelled in six out of seven observed personal competencies while, compared to business executives, there is still space for improvement in terms of their energy. The results shown in relation to the...

Fidlerová, Stanislava ; Krykorková, Hana (advisor) ; Lorenzová, Jitka (referee)
FILOZOFICKÁ FAKULTA UNIVERZITY KARLOVY Katedra pedagogiky Bakalářská práce Význam životní krize v procesu rozvoje osobnosti Importance of life crisis in process of personal development Vedoucí bakalářské práce: Vypracovala: PhDr. Hana Krykorková CSc. Stanislava Fidlerová Abstract The topic of a crisis seems to be very actual these days. The crisis hits all fields of human activity and a human himself. We cannot avoid a crisis. Everyone in their life goes through more or less serious crisis. Looking at their meaning and causes can bring us explanation and help. I suppose that a crisis is one of the important moments which decides our future direction. If we understand the crisis and its motives and we start to work with them, we have a chance to use our potential which the crisis gives us. Or there is a second option, we are blind to the causes and challenges of the crisis. This often leads to stagnation or somatization of the problem. It seems that a man continues to live his life almost unaffected, but he actually has a certain debt. The debt refers to him. It is the debt which the man owes himself because he does not live his life the way he could. It can cause stagnation or even destruction of a personality. Such a man is unsatisfied and he often brings his problems to other people. Key words: crisis,...

JANKOVCOVÁ, Kateřina
This thesis deals with development of personal, but mainly physical and motor skills of people with mental disabilities by application of yoga movement therapy. My research has aimed to find out if an intensive week-long programme of yoga relaxation exercises can lead to improvement of fine motor skills, mobility, and the overall physical condition of mentally-disabled people of the 1st to 3rd level of disability. The research was conducted during the week-long school stay in nature. The participants were tested both the first and last day of their stay. The research sample was composed of six women and four men from the school for persons with special needs in Česke Budějovice. The methods utilised during the research were direct observation, evaluation and questioning to detect changes in indicators of physical condition and fine motor skills (including grasping reflexes of participants and familiarisation with new expressions). The results show positive change in these indicators. The therapy regimen resulted in the improvement in movement coordination, fine subtle skills of arms in everyday{\crq}s patient{\crq}s self-care activities; and the positive influence of yoga was also observed on psychological well-being of participants. The research project was beneficial for the participants and can serve as a model for further utilisation in the field applications of yoga exercises for people with mental disabilities.
