Work with pupil's portfolio at primary school

This Master's thesis is divided into the theoretical and research part. The theoretical part is focused on the concept of primary education, in particular on the area of key competences. The thesis submits methods through which pupil's key competences can be developed. The major focus is placed on the pedagogical device which develops key competences and that is a pupil's portfolio. The thesis describes different types of the portfolio as well as its importance especially in the process of self-assessment of the pupil. The main aim of the research part is to investigate the benefits of using the pupil's portfolio and to describe its forms in different grades at primary school. This part is primarily focused on the concept of working with portfolio at two different primary schools. There are also interviews with teachers and pupils which suggest arguments why working with the portfolio is beneficial and what possible difficulties can occur. Responses which were received from the interviews with teachers show that the main benefits of working with the pupil's portfolio include the possibility of gathering pupil's works at one place, developing some system, storing of works, providing and documenting of pupil's results. All this is can be used especially during consultations with parents and the pupil.
Benefits of Persona Dolls method in anti-prejudice education

The aim of this thesis is to find out the benefits of Persona Dolls method in connection with prejudices. The first chapter of its theoretical part deals with changes in the field of education after year 1989 and with the process of creating pivotal curricular documents (so called General Educational Programme) which have been used in Czech school system since then. The second chapter describes particular parts of General Educational Programme for pre-primary and primary education as well as the conception of curricular documents related to Persona Dolls method. The most important chapter of the theoretical part is defining the Persona Dolls method itself. This chapter outlines the theoretical basis, principles and prospective benefits of this method, and gives instructions how to use the method in a class. Moreover, certain pitfalls associated with using this method are mentioned as well. The last chapter of the theoretical part contains detailed description of the coherence of Persona Dolls method and curricular documents. Title of bachelor work: Influence and use of art education on the development of mental and social skills, knowledge and habits of children diagnosed with autism Abstract The bachelor thesis named "The use and impact of art education on the development of mental and social skills, knowledge and habits of children diagnosed with autism" is elaborated as a participatory probe where the core is the analysis of artistic tasks for pupils with autistic spectrum disorders, with a focus on analyzing the impact of creative duties on development of key competencies in accordance with RVP and individual IVP, drawn up for each individual student, in collaboration with SPC Most. The thesis contains a set of individual artistic tasks, the methodology used to work on individual activities, analysis of the impact of activities to develop the skills, knowledge and habits of students, documentation and critical evaluation of a series of creative tasks and results of the probe.

Research-like education in primary schools

In this thesis, we assume a pan-European issue of the decline of interest in science and science education. In connection with this issue we conducted a literature search. We have also mapped the literature related to the issue of education research in the Czech Republic and the rest of the world. In an effort to increase pupils' interest, increase enthusiasm for science, we deal with activation teaching methods that compare with frontal teaching. As a motivational method we chose a research method of teaching. We prepared a lesson, which we tested among pupils of secondary school. In this work we watched 16 hours in 6 classes. Those lectures were inquiry and frontal way led. The results are presented in the practical part of this thesis. During lectures we wanted to stimulate students' interest in science and science research. Czech didactic materials for teaching biology to language minority students

This thesis is devoted to teaching of foreigners and creation of didactic materials for students of 2nd level of elementary schools with Czech as a second language. The thesis surveys and compares approaches to teaching foreigners in the Czech Republic and the USA. The author of the thesis describes methodology of the creation and use of special work materials for students determined to help them overcome language barriers and acquire the knowlede of specialized subjects. In the thesis, above entioned work materials are attested in refferential specimen for both, the attitude of the students to work with the materials and the use of informational resources and linguistic utilities included in the materials. Forum theatre: possible applications with children and youth

This diploma thesis deals with the possible applications of the dramatic method called Forum theatre in the work with children and teenagers. The theoretical part is divided in to three chapters and where the first chapter introduces Forum theatre. The second chapter describes the formation of the Theatre of the Oppressed concept, whose main technique is the examined method. The third part provides a detailed description of the method including the aims, rules a principles for the role of a Joker. The second part of the thesis examines the relationship of the method towards the educational system of the Czech Republic. Concretely it deals with the key competences, personal and social education a dramatic education. The aim of this thesis is to map the current state of the usage of the method, to determine who, whit what goals and with what susses uses the method. Than the original concept, developed by Augusto Boal for work with adults is confronted with the currently used variations of this method. Based on this analysis some principles, which might be used in the future practice are set. Teaching strategies developing competence to learn

Essay discusses teaching strategies to learn non-native-speaking pupils at Czech basic schools whose language competencies are not developed enough to handle common classes during the process of education. Author suggests using of special working-papers helping them to overcome the language barrier and to extend their knowledge of specific school subjects.
