Inclusive education from the perspective of teachers in selected schools in the Czech Republic

The bachelor thesis has a theoretical-empirical character. The goal of the theoretical part is to describe the priciples of the inclusive education, the attitudes and the opinions of the international experts in inclusive education, then to describe the profession of teacher, his or her way of thinking about the matter and his or her professional competecies, finally to describe the disabled pupil and the compensation measures that are a part of inclusive education. The theoretical part is devised to three chapters. The firs one is called The Principles of Inclusive Education and it is composed of two subchapters: The Explanation of the Notions Inclusion and Integration and The Views of Experts on Inclusive Education. The second one is called The Teacher and it is devised to three subchapters: The Profession of Teacher and its Problematics, The Pedagogical Thinking of Teacher and The Competencies of Teacher in Inclusive Education. The third chapter The Disabled Pupil and his or her Compensation Measures within the Institutions is devised into seven following subchapters: The Disabled Pupils, The Announcement about the Numbre of Pupils in the Classroom, The pedagogical-psychological consultation, The Centre of Special Education, The School Consulting Centre, The Individual Education Plan and The Pedagogical Assistante. The goal of the empirical part is to find out the opinions about inclusive educatin of asked teachers of primary school. We used a qualitative researche with 11 researche questions. The respondents answered on prepared questions in semi-structured interview. The interviews was realized individually with eight teachers of some primary schools in Czech Republic. We asked on 34 questions. All the answers were transcribed, analysed and evaluated. The empirical part includes the methodology of the research, characteristics of respondents and chapters conluding the answers on the research questions.
Teachers' competencies to the progress of reading comprehension at a primary school

This diploma thesis deals with the competencies of teachers in order to develop passion for reading in pupils at primary schools (up to Year 5). The first chapter discusses the technical terminology which all teachers who desire to encourage reading in pupils should be familiar with. The second chapter details the competencies of teachers focusing on reading. The thesis subsequently concentrates on the options which teachers have at their disposal to encourage reading in schools, i.e. what strategies and methods can be chosen and what reading projects teachers can participate in with their pupils. The last chapter describes other conditions that can also affect the development of reading, such as working with pupils with specific learning disabilities (SLD), safe environment or further education of teachers and educators, which I personally find absolutely essential. The aim of the practical part of this study is to determine how beginner and experienced teachers develop pupils' passion for reading and to compare their competencies. In order to find the answer, qualitative research methods were used - observation and interviews with teachers. Cooperation of Family and School at the Beginning of School Attendance

The diploma thesis deals with cooperation between family and school at the beginning of the education. The theoretical part is focused on the family and the school such as an educational institution. It describes a fixing cooperation between family and school in the obligatory documents for the education and represents principles and possible limits. It also deals with an expectaion and parent's and teacher's worries. It represents programmes and initiatives be supported to cooperation with school with family for example "Rodiče vítáni" and "Začít spolu". The empiric part deals with research, which watches a particular forms of cooperation the school with parents on the particular secondary school, mainly on the first school. The research is created by questionnaire, an interview and an observation.
Development, possibilities and skills of a teacher working with immigrant children in primary school

Theoretical part follow up possibilities of a teacher in self-education of students with Czech as a second language problematic as well as preparation for entry to class for students with Czech as a second language and their teachers as their mission should be to create welcoming climate in the class. I also describe the key terms in field of students with Czech as a second language in Czech Republic and Finland as well. In the practical part I prepare questionnaires for teachers with the goal to identify the level of awareness on this issue, which I deepen via subsequent interviews with selected teachers. Based on personal experience from an internship in Finland than the findings from interviews and study of available literature to prepare a workshop for teachers. I would also like to prepare a variety of examples of good practice and inspiration for teachers. First class primary school pupil and its adaptation in the social sphere from the perspective of parents and elementary school teachers

The diploma thesis deals with the adaptation 1st class primary school pupils, to the school environment in social area. It is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is focused on the process of adaptation pupil to the school environment, it explains the concept of socialization, analyzing school maturity, the readiness and the terms of school education. The practical part is based on a combination of quantitative and qualitative research. The method of questionnaire, interview and observation provides the identified data to deal with the issue of adaptation pupil at the 1st class primary school in the social field and analyzes the attitude of parents and first class teachers to the adaptation pupils to the school environment in the social sphere. The aim of the diploma thesis is analyzing the opinion to that issue by parents and first class primary school teachers.
Climate in the school working in prisons and in ordinary vocational schools

The aim of this thesis is to find out to what extent the prison environment can influence the mood of a teaching staff. In the theoretical part, after defining the basic concepts, we are going to deal with a school climate. This basic theme is explained by the basic factors affecting school climate from the perspective of a parent, pupil, director and teacher. We are going to attend to the influence of teachers over school and how that school climate can affect teachers. The last chapter is dedicated to educating inmates in an environment of imprisonment and education possibilities which are offers to prisoner by this system. Aggression of Pupils Against Teacher and its Solution in Chosen Schools

The present thesis addresses the aggression of the pupil against the teacher, with the focus on the secondary school environment. In the first chapter focused on theory I aim to describe aggression, its related terms and the viewpoint of related literature. The second part studies the aggression in schoolchildren, its particularities and preconditions. The empirical part of the thesis starts in the third chapter: I analyse the sources of the society's information about youth aggression, i.e. media and police statistics. Finally, the fourth chapter describes my own research, a survey among secondary school teachers. This project aims to find out how teachers perceive the aggression of contemporary youth, and to compare the results with the findings of a similar research done in 2008. Classrooms' psychosocial climate in the secondary schools of different focus

Master's thesis "Classrooms' psychosocial chmate in the secondary schools of different focus" is divided into the theoretical part and the practical part. In the theoretical part the main focus is dedicated to an explanation of the basic terms concerning the theme followed by the analysis of its parts. This is mainly an analysis of classroom development, stages, types of class climate and mapping the factors that contribute to create the climate in the class including gender difference. The key attitudes towards the class climate research, the exploratory method which has been used in the practical part also play an important role in the theoretical part. The empirical part focuses on diagnosis of classrooms'climate at selected secondary schools of different focus in the region Klatovy and summarizes the results received by quantitative method through selected standardized questionnaire KLIT. The aim of this part is firstly to compare school climate in the secondary schools of different focus including evaluation of stated hypothesis in the research and secondly interpret the discovered information.
Social-economic status of Czech teacher

Theoretical part of dissertation was focused to defined concept teacher and his social and economic position. These concepts were focused from professional literature and law of Czech Republic. Practical part then is turn on in first line on the research of teacher's job. Some of them refer to prestige of teacher, another generally teachers position, his intensity and complexity, another was devoted education system universally. The second part explores from qualitative research of some respondents their attitudes and opinions to teachers position. The target of thesis was compare of idea trainees with conclusion, where was found out from researches of teachers job and professional literature. The thesis come to the conclusion in teacher's prestige and together was alert to some phenomenon, where are charted but not appropriately resolved. TITLE: Teacher Evaluation AUTHOR: Mgr., Bc. Jiří Trunda DEPARTMENT: Primary Education SUPERVISOR: prof. PhDr. Vladimíra Spilková, CSc. Abstract: This dissertation thesis deals with the evaluation of teachers in the context of the Czech educational system. The theoretical part first mapped theories related to the concepts of evaluation and teacher. The conclusions of these two chapters are then relate in the chapter Evaluation of Teachers. The second part of the thesis presents quantitative research of the situation of teacher's evaluation in the context of Czech primary schools. The description is then compared with the theoretical model of evaluation of teachers, which is the output of theoretical part. Dissertation should contribute to the implementation of systematic teacher evaluation as a tool for improving the quality of education and simultaneously to the professionalisation of teaching.
