Analysis of the Websites of Selected Universities

This diploma thesis analyzes websites of universities. Today, websites have a constantly growing importance for universities. Selected websites are evaluated especially for their usability. Websites with good usability do not force their users to think unnecessarily. The theoretical part introduces the marketing communication of educational institutions and the theory of websites. The websites are discussed by the usability point of view. After that are discussed chosen methods. Web sites are evaluated by user testing with eye-tracking, SWET, and trunk testing. Based on these tests, websites are rated and evaluated. In the end is evaluated the overall usability of websites, comparing private and public universities and comparing the results with the ranking of the best universities.

"Monitoring and Analysis of the Contents of Websites Focused on Amphetamine and Opioids Users in the Czech Republic"

The thesis describes the course and results of the research into interventions through the internet websites in the Czech language for the users of opioids and amphetamines. Nowadays the internet forms an inseparable part of most people's lives from all social classes. This fact is reflected in the interests of both service providers for drug users and laymen interested in drug issues. Unfortunately, according to current research we do not know much about what information and in which quality and range can people find about drug issues on the internet. Therefore, the aim of this thesis was to find and analyse internet websites focused on the users of illegal drugs (opioids and amphetamines) in the Czech republic. The Internet websites were evaluated not only with respect to the contents and range of the information provided but also with respect to topicality, functionality and objectivity. What was found were 13 complex Czech websites, 7 professional HR organisations and also 6 non-professional HR websites. The websites of professional organisations in most cases fulfilled the essential criteria of authority, objectivity and topicality. A complaints book in the library - examples of the use and effectiveness

Bachelor's thesis describes the analysis of the entries in the Books of wishes and complaints about the practice of free different types of libraries. Entries are analyzed of view form and content, and then dividend according to the formal processing of the types of records that are subsequently dividend according dates and according to content, broken down into categories and subcategories that describe the subjekt entries. Further on, response libraries thus obtained suggestions and feedback to the scene chosen by comparing the best practices and recommended its improvement. The work is made up of theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part of the tendency is the definition of the term Suggestions and complaints and are described embodiment, a complaints book with which a user might encounter in the Czech libraries. In the practical part is a description of the analysis, which took place in the National Library, Regional Library in Pardubice and Prague MunicipalLibrary.

Věra Pilecká The interaction of information science and cognitive sciences with emphasis on information retrieval (dissertation thesis) (Vzájemné ovlivňování informační vědy a kognitivních věd s důrazem na vyhledávání informací) Abstract Focus of this thesis is on the description of the interaction of information science and cognitive sciences with emphasis on information retrieval which is influenced by some of the cognitive aspects. The introductory chapter deals with the definition of information science and paradigms inspired by a cognitive approach (cognitive and socio-cognitive paradigm). Then a cognitive science is defined including its basis, methods and application. In the third chapter, a comparison between information and cognitive science is included, and their interaction and common interests are described. Fourth chapter focuses on information retrieval and influencing factors, including search methods, user information behaviour, and user cognitive characteristics and mental models. The final chapter presents two surveys focused on the use of intuitive and analytical information retrieval styles during searching on Google, and the perception of the differences between traditional and online teaching of the effective reading techniques. Google Book Search : the analysis of the system and its usage in the Czech Republic

The topic of this master's degree diploma thesis is the Google Books service, formerly Google Book Search and Google Print. The wider general context is described briefly in the first two chapters. Google company and its portfolio of services are introduced, as well as the latest progress in sharing of information, for example trends as digital libraries and open access. Third chapter presents results of the analysis of the Google Books as the complex system. Mentioned are: a history of the service, Library Project, Partner Program, metadata harvesting, scanning methods, available searching options, all information and functionalities in the individual records, users' participation. Chapter four is focused on copyright law and disputes related to the Google Books. Fifth chapter deals with the usage of the Google Books in the Czech Republic, in the terms of all local activities. Great attention belongs to digitization in cooperation of Google company with National Library of the Czech Republic. Two questionnaires were done for this thesis, between college students and large Czech publishers. Methods for measuring service quality in university libraries: a case study of libraries AMU and JAMU

This thesis examines the issue of measuring the quality of services from a theoretical and practical perspectives. It's trying to define the term quality in the context of library services, particular performance indicators used in practice and try to provide an overview of the possibilities of its measurement in the Czech environment as well as abroad. It describes methods Balanced ScoreCard, Benchmarking, Total Quality Management, ServQUAL and SWOT analysis, which originally came from the commercial sector and Benchmarking of libraries, Bibliotheksindex and LibQUAL +, which were created directly for a field of librarianship. It also maps the various activities in this field at national and international level. The practical part of the thesis consists of a survey in two selected libraries performed on the basis of three selected methods of quality measurement: Benchmarking of libraries, Bibliotheksindex and SWOT analysis. In conclusion of the thesis is based on the information gathered from own experience and practice created a general framework for service quality, the possibility of increasing quality and it's measurement in academic libraries.

Phenomenon of Forest Kindergarten: Case Study - Prague 6

The bachelor thesis deals with forest kindergartens, which represent an alternative to traditional kindergartens and can be seen as a new institutional phenomenon in pre-school education. The topic is grounded in the theoretical framework of time geography and mobility, with emphasis on the concept of constraints. Case study is carried out in the city district of Prague 6 compares the users (parents) of forest kindergartens and traditional kindergartens. It monitors the diversity of spatial daily mobility - commuting and different socio-demographic characteristics of users in both types of institutions. During field research the techniques used for data collection were semi-structured interviews and questionnaires. This case study confirmed differences between users, mainly in the willingness to commute further and their relationship to the environment. Design and implementation of authentication method for accessing web service in PHP language

Bachelor's thesis describes the available principles of authentication for access to Web services. It compares necessary hardware, safety, financial costs, complexity of implementation and difficulty of maintenance and service. The second part deals with the design and implementation of a particular authentication method for access to Web applications in PHP using the MySQL relational database. There is selected the authentication method by SMS code with regards to mentioned characteristics of particular methods. It is also supplemented by the possibility of using a client certificate.
