Specifics and current challenges of school counseling at Charles University and Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague from the perspective of students

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of counselling in the university environment. Specifically, it focuses on the counselling provided at Charles University and the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague from the perspective of students. The topic of counselling for university students is a very key issue. These services help students to overcome academic and personal obstacles that can make it difficult to complete their studies and thus close students possible entry into the labor market. The topics of the theoretical part of this thesis are the characteristics and background of counselling, the types of counselling services provided, and, in particular, research and comparison of counselling services provided at selected universities. The thesis aims to describe the current situation of counselling at each university using the students' opinions and thus identify the aspects influencing the awareness and overall usability of counselling services. The resultant data of the survey points to the fact that students are rather uninterested in counselling. Early withdrawal of students from universities in connection with self-efficacy

This master thesis examines student dropouts from higher education in relation to self-efficacy. Student dropouts are currently a major problem domestically and around the world. Most dropouts from universities occur in the very first year of study. The aim of this master thesis was to find out the causes of dropouts from universities and also whether they are related to the level of self- efficacy. The master thesis also includes experiences with career counselling. To explore this issue, I used a questionnaire survey with several parts (a general part, a part related to early departures and a part related to the level of general and academic self-efficacy) in the practical part of my master thesis. The research design of my thesis is mainly quantitative, only the answers to the open- ended questions were qualitatively evaluated (those related to the reasons for early dropouts and experiences with career counselling). The research results showed that early departures are related to the level of general self-efficacy. Implementation of career counseling at secondary vocational schools and the Labor Office in the Karlovy Vary region

Rigorous work on the topic of Implementation of career counseling at secondary vocational schools and the Labor Office in the Karlovy Vary region deals in the research part with ontogenetic aspects in the period of adolescence in the context of choosing a profession. The personality of the adolescent individual is taken into account, while social-psychological factors in the process of transitioning to the labor market are included. One of the chapters deals with career concepts. Subsequently, options for career counseling at the level of secondary vocational schools and the Labor Office of the Czech Republic are addressed. In the empirical part of the work, the set research goals are fulfilled. The fulfillment of the set goals consists in the verification of cooperation in career counseling at secondary vocational schools and the Labor Office in the Karlovy Vary Region. This bachelor thesis addresses the issue of the career counseling within organizations. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the topic of career, its historical development and current conceptions of career. Further it deals with the topic of career counseling, its historical development and some key concepts and approaches. One of areas where can be career counseling applied is organizational context. Career counseling is a part of a wider career support that can be provided by organizations to their employees. Bachelor thesis summarize how can be career counseling in organizations utilized, which are its goals in the organizational context and how it relates to another activities of career management. Applied part of the thesis proposes the project of the research with the objective of developing a questionnaire that could measure the need of the use of the career counseling within organizations.
The importance and possibilities of career guidance

The aim of this diploma thesis entitled "The importance and possibilities of career guidance" was to find out and describe the position of a career adviser and the possibilities and barriers of career guidance. The diploma thesis is divided into two parts, namely: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is focused on three main thematic units. In the first chapter, the concept of career guidance is defined, target groups, forms, diagnosis, limits, possibilities and barriers of career guidance are listed. The second chapter is devoted to a career adviser, code of ethics, competences, specializations, work activities and psychohygiene for career advisers. The third chapter is focused on education of career advisers and their further education. The methodology of the research investigation is described in the practical part. A case study was chosen as the research design. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews with three career advisers. The bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of two disciplines contributing to the development of human self-knowledge and increasing the quality of his life; art therapy and career counseling. The first part deals with the theoretical definition of these disciplines, describes their starting points and specifics of the Rožnov approach in art therapy and the sociodynamic concept of career counseling. On the other level, they follow their identical and different features. The aim of the thesis is to find the source topics and the way of their interpretation so that the art therapy effect is enriching for the process of career counseling with individual clients.
Self-awareness and its Development through Public Policy as a Factor in Choice of Upper Secondary School Programme

In recent years, the topic of people's employability on the labour market has become increasingly important in the context of its dynamic transformation due to globalisation and technological progress. The way to prepare young people in education and the adult population for these changes is the subject of career guidance worldwide. Surprisingly, this topic is currently not very resonating among the actors in the Czech Republic and is not considered as a priority of educational policy, even though it is a major focus of European educational strategies. The objective of this dissertation is to gain insight into the beliefs held by the actors in the Czech educational system regarding the topics addressed by career guidance. The dissertation uses data from the 2019 Delphi survey among the actors in education and applies a phenomenographic approach for its secondary analysis. Based on The Advocacy Coalition Framework, this thesis also aims to discover if it is possible to identify certain opinion groups among these actors. The result of this research offers a map of actors' perceptions on this issue. Vocational education in the context of career preferences during the Covid pandemia and in the previous period.

The diploma thesis on the topic of vocational education in the context of career preferences during the Covid pandemic and in the previous period deals in the first part with the specification of the concept of vocational education and then describes the development of vocational education in the Czech Republic. The current state of vocational education with opportunities in the educational path of students is mentioned here. The work is further focused on the socio-psychological concept in the choice of profession for students. The factors and actors who enter the choice of profession are listed. The empirical part of the work addresses the preferences in the choice of profession in the reflection of the Covid period. Changing preferences of students entering the labor market are identified. The diploma thesis verifies the assumptions about the change of preferences when choosing a profession and these are determined on the basis of a questionnaire method. Questionnaires were sent to students of secondary vocational schools in the Karlovy Vary region. Perceptions of students' preferences in choosing a profession were also ascertained among secondary vocational school teachers in the same region.
