Learning styles and their effectivness amongst pupils with specific learning disabilities

This diploma thesis deals with learning styles and their effectiveness amongst pupils with specific learning disabilities. The theoretical part describes the problems of specific learning disorders, the current legislation and the possibilities of care for pupils with specific learning disabilities in school counseling facility, learning styles, learning habits amongst pupils with specific learning disorders and basic diagnostics of learning styles. The practical part is focused on the research and includes quantitative research which focuses on revealing the predominant style of learning at the second level of elementary school amongst pupils with learning disabilities and its comparison with the regular population of pupils. The thesis also answers a range of questions, such as, what helps learners who have learning disabilities to make the most out of their work, what disturbs the learners during learning, and compares these findings with pupils without any learning disabilities. The results of the survey revealed that pupils with specific learning disabilities involved in the research are predominant in the auditory style of learning. There were no differences found between predominant learning styles in pupils with learning disabilities and pupils without these disorders.
Pupil with disorder of learning in primary school

This thesis deals with specific learning disabilities on the first level of primary education. The theoretical part is devoted to the definition of the basic concepts, to the etiology of the occurrence of specific learning disabilities and to the classification of their manifestation. It draws up the possibilities of the diagnostics and of the follow-up re-education. It describes the possibilities of educating students with disabilities at basic schools or individually. The practical part of this thesis focuses on exploring the issue of specific learning disabilities on the first level of primary education, namely, in the third and fourth grade. Three case reports whose results most visibly pointed to a problem are also present here.
Movement options in individuals with dyslexia

This research bachelor thesis titled "Physical Options in Dyslexic Individuals" highlights the issue of this specific learning disorder. It summarizes current knowledge about dyslexia in physiotherapy, rehabilitation and other appropriate physical activities. The work is divided into three parts. The theoretical part describes dyslexia within other specific learning disorders, determines its definition, typology and the search for causes of its origin. Herein, it depicts the knowledge in terms of building diversity and the functioning of the CNS and the reading process. The next section focuses on the secondary manifestations of this disorder. The special part deals with dyslexia in the context of physiotherapy, its influence on postural control. It compares current methods that try to move their postural system, movement skills and the disorder itself. This part offers an overview of appropriate therapies and activities for dyslectics. The last practical part is focused on the influence of dyslexia on the postural system of these individuals. The content is an indikative examination that compares 12 dyslectic individuals with each other. Perception of learning disabilities from middle school student's point of view

Bachelor's work is dealing with issues of specific learning disabilities from student's point of view. In the work are describing basic concepts of this issues, methods of working with children be suffering from learning disabilities. Then there are acquaint consulting workplaces, individual educational plans and the approach to marking of students with learning disabilities. The work is concentrating on social aspects of students with learning disabilities. The field part makes survey between the students of seventh class research basic knowledge, classmate's approach to pupils with learning disability and the strategy of coping issues by children with learning disability.
Role individual education plans in education process in elementary school pupils with defect learning

The bachelor work is aimed at the essence of individually educational plans in pupils with specific defects in learning. The first chapter of the theoretical part is aimed at the specification and the division of specific defects in learning. In the second chapter I occupy with the possibilities of the support and education of the pupils suffering specific defects in learning as well as the creation and contents of individually educational plans. The last chapter of the theoretical part is aimed at the legislative framework of the education of pupils with above-mentioned defects. In the practical part of my bachelor work I take heed of a pupil in a primary school who suffers from this specific defect. This part contains casuistic of a pupil, his family and personal anamnesis and individually educational plan. The pupil's activities in the range of ten months are described here. At the end I assess his progress in the above-mentioned areas. The objective of my bachelor work is to find out to what extend can individually educational plans enforce within the educational process and how can a pupil develop within the selected areas under the regular activities according to the individually educational plan.

Lenka Felcmanová Abstract: The main goal in this thesis titled "The application of individual education programme (IEP) for pupils with specific learning disabilities (SLD)" to examinate the efficiency of education of students with SLD accordning to IEP, who are included in regular elementery school and the awareness of the "parent-studentteacher" unit about the topic of specific learning disabilities and about using IEP at schools. Theoretical part contains brief characteristics of SLD, forms of education for pupils with SLD and legislation that regulates such education. Practical part presents findings from qualitative research using interview as the research method. Self-concept of a child with specific learning disorders at first grade of primary school

Thesis focuses on self conception of primary school children impaired by specific learning disabilities. Based on case histories of nine children it states factors influencing the building of a self concept, and also follows a development of monitored children. The theoretic section defines a conceptual framework based on characteristics of a preadlolescent child with specific regard to her/his sensoric, cognitive and emotional development, with regard to development of child's self concept and to specific learnind disabilities in general. It describes the stage of children's development and learning disorders they are afflicted by. The practical section of the thesis describes case histories of nine pupils (and their development), which the author of the thesis followed for two years. The group consists of 9 pupils (2 girls and 7 boys). The thesis gives a thorough view on self conception of monitored children, their positionin the school group and areas of succes, it shows the individuality of each child's personality and his/her life story.
Self-concept of students with specific learning disabilities in secondary school

The dissertation is focused on the self-concept of students and adults who have learning disabilities. The general charakcteristic of learning disorders and their symptoms is in the theoretical part. The diagnostics and principles of reeducation are clarified. The secondary symptoms and the impact of child failure on his future professional career are described in the next chapter. The difficulties of pupils suffering from lerning disabilities is highlighted. The practical part deals with the self-concept of students and adults who have to deal with the problems associated with learning. There are records from their teachers and classmates too. I examined seven pupils on secondary school and five adults in my dissertation.
