Interventions focused on the support of pupils with dyscalculia in a primary school

The bachelor thesis deals with a specific learning disability - dyscalculia. The theoretical part follows up the general issue of specific learning disabilities, division, and etiology also with the definition of dyscalculia and its classifications in terms of child development and mathematical topics. It focuses on general recommendations for reeducation and specific elements description to correct difficulties in mathematics. Finally, it is anchored in the current legislation, which underwent a fresh change in the early 2021. It also defines terms of pedagogical intervention and the use of special pedagogical care. The practical part is interested in the interventions provided to pupils with dyscalculia at primary schools in the Jihlava region, more precisely finds out and describes the provided support for pupils who have difficulties in mathematics. It also contains a research survey of qualitative character- focused finding out information about the implementation of interventions at primary schools and pedagogical-psychological counselling in the selected locality and presents case studies of two pupils. Role of a teacher's assistant in Czech language lessons at primary school

The bachelor's thesis deals with the teaching of pupils with special educational needs at the second stage of mainstream primary schools during Czech language lessons. The research part is focused on the experience of teachers and teaching assistants from Czech language lessons. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to use the information to find out what the role of a teacher's assistant in Czech language lessons entails and how the cooperation between teacher and assistant in these lessons works. The work also focuses on what teaching assistants lack in Czech language lessons and what they would exclude from their work. The research part describes the results of qualitative research, which is carried out by the method of structured interviews with teaching assistants and educators. The expected number of respondents is eight teachers and eight teaching assistants.
Quality of lifeof seniors in retirment home during the covid-19 pandemic and the ban on visitors

The diploma thesis is focused on the consequences of the situation associated with the Covid- 19 pandemic, specifically of the consequences of the ban on visits of family members in retirement homes. The aim of the thesis is to determine the impact on the mental health, as well as on the attitude and quality of life in this period. The thesis is devided into theoretical part and empirical part. The theoretical part firstly introduces the concepts of "old age and aging" and the realted topic of "psychological changes in old age". A larger part of the theoretical part forming a chapter entitled "quality of life". Which is one of the key concepts permeating the entire thesis. The first part of this chapter introduces the term "quality of life" and its dimensions. The second part is focused on factors influencing quality of life and methids for its measurement. The third chapter of the theoretical part consists of a brief description of social services provided to elderly people with the focus on retirement homes. Possibilities of using the method of alternative and augmentative communication of PECS in children with ASD in early care ang in the period of attendance to kindergarten and primary school

The thesis deals with the setting of functional communication using the Picture Exchange Communication System method at people with autism spectrum disorder through individual levels of education and is divided into the theoretical and the practical part. The key terms explaining the problematic of autism, significance of communication and education of people with autism spectrum disorder introduces the theoretical part which is split into a few areas. The main overarching is the Picture Exchange Communications System methods which compensates the disorder in communication of an individual with autism spectrum disorder either temporarily or permanently. Furthermore, based on the interviews with participants in the educational process, the thesis analyzes the application of the method and cooperation of the individual educational institutions but also parents. In the empirical part are the interviews complemented by the case study which completes the whole picture of research problem in question. The diploma thesis deals with the search for ways to support and strengthen the mutual interaction of pupils from classes established according to § 16 paragraph 9 of the Education Act with pupils from regular primary school classes. In the theoretical part, the thesis first introduces the strategic documents, both international and Czech, which aim to equal access for all to education. The thesis deals in detail with school legislation, where it emphasizes the legislation regulations concerning joint education and also deals with support measures and counseling services in schools and school facilities. A separate chapter is devoted to the concepts of inclusion, inclusive education, inclusive teaching and inclusive school, as certain desirable ideas of education systems. The work, among other things, opens the topic of educational opportunities for pupils with special educational needs in primary school, deals with forms of school integration. Adaptation of a child with autism spectrum disorder to kindergarten and the possibilities of its support

The diploma thesis is dedicated to the adaptation processes of a preschool child with an autistic spectrum disorder on the preschool environment. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and an empirical part. The main aim of the paper is to analyse the adaptation process on the preschool attendance established by § 16 paragraph 9 of the Education Act of the children affected by ASD with focus on the factors that support the adaptation on the organized form of the preschool education. Part of the aim is to suggest the key elements that should be included in the adaptation plan so it meets the needs of children affected by ASD in the preschool facility. The research was conducted on six children whose legal representatives gave their agreement through an informed consent about processing of their personal data and the use of gathered information for the creation of the diploma thesis. In order to gather the required information, the method of direct observation by the researcher was used. Comprehensive support for disadvantaged students hospitalized in the department of child and adolescent psychiatry

The diploma thesis deals with the comprehensive support of disadvantaged pupils in the department of child and adolescent psychiatry and primary school at the hospital. The aim of the research was to analyze the level of current pedagogical, health and therapeutic support for disadvantaged hospitalized pupils and to recommend measures to increase the effectiveness of provided care. In the theoretical part, support measures and the counseling system of pupils with special educational needs were generally described. In the practical part, partial goals of the research survey were set, which were to determine the degree of effectiveness of cooperation between medical and school staff providing the educational process of hospitalized pupils. The method of social research was used in this work. For the purpose of obtaining necessary information, a form of questioning a small research sample was used, which consisted of nurses and special pedagogues of this facility. The output of this work is a modification of the cooperation of all participants and their interpersonal and intrapersonal attitude to the care provided to hospitalized students.
Assessment and Development of Visual Perception in Preschool Children

Thesis Assessment and Development of Visual Perception in Preschool Children responds to the need of broader selection of standardized tools designed for the assessment of actual development of visual perception in preschool children, especially in relation to the assessment of school readiness. The main aim of the thesis is standardization of a new assessment tool. Complementary aim is also to design and evaluate a new intervention program supporting development of selected areas of visual perception for children before and at the beginning of their school attendance. In its theoretical part thesis scrutinizes current findings in the area of visual perception and its relation to basic academic skills, especially reading. The explorative part of thesis presents standardization study based on classical model of Test theory consisting of convergent validity and reliability evaluation of proposed test and setting national norms for four age groups (from 5 to 7 years). Initial conditions of primary schools for implementation of preventive activities of the PBIS model

Diploma thesis deals with the current methods of implementation of primary prevention of primary schools in the Czech Republic. The aim was to determine the degree of preparedness of primary schools for the implementation of a world-wide research-proven program of positive support for students behavior in the school environment (PBIS) in order to prevent risky behavior of students in schools. The first part of the thesis is devoted to theoretical knowledge about students with risky behavior, preventive and interventional procedures of primary prevention applied in schools and a thorough description of the PBIS method. We used a qualitative method of semi-structured interviews for the research survey. The evaluation took place on the basis of interviews with pedagogical staff at four primary schools. The analysis was performed using open coding. Questions were asked about the use of preventive measures by primary schools and the answers provided an insight into which elements used correspond to the PBIS method. The results of the research show similarities in the use of preventive elements in the field of physical environment of the class and in the positive formulation of the rules of conduct.
