The attitudes of pupils of primary schools towards people with disabilities

Thesis is focused on attitudes of the 4th and the 5th grade pupils towards people with disabilities. Specifically it is the influence of influencing the manifestations of otherness on the cultivation of pupils' attitudes towards the issue. Thesis defines the manifestation and otherness of selected types of disabilities. In context of modify of pupils' attitudes, findings from the psychosocial development pupils in late middle childhood are summarized. Thesis also presents the personality of the class teacher from the perspective of the teacher's professional competencies. The aim of the thesis is to find out what are the attitudes of the 4th and the 5th grades of primary schools towards people with disabilities and whether the teaching process can modify the attitudes. Through a research survey 455 pupils from randomly selected primary schools in Prague, it was found that half of them have difficulty accepting otherness of people with disabilities. The least accepted group are people with mental disabilities. Title: The Gymnastics objects analysis in preparation of physical education teachers with focus on Artistic gymnastics. Thesis objective This thesis was aimed to determine the content of Artistic gymnastics as a part of physical education teaching study programme. To achieve the primary objective two other sub-objectives were established. These were examined in two research phases: 1. the school documentation analysis in respect of: a) objectives, results and contents of Artistic gymnastics study plans b) distribution of individual Gymnastics objects (Artistic gymnastics in particular) and their frequency in a lesson plan 2. to learn and define requirements posed upon the personality of a high school physical education teacher. Methods The research continued in two phases. The first phase was to analyse the school documentation and explore the focus on contents of Artistic gymnastics study plans, its range and required results. To find the answer on relevance and necessity of particular competences of Artistic gymnastics graduates the repertory grid method was used in the second phase of research. Self-education as a specific professional activity of a primary school teacher

The focus of the thesis is self-education as a part of the professional activity of a primary school teacher. A brief definition of a teacher according to the Education Act and the competencies of a pedagogical staff. The following chapters concern on self- education, self-esteem and self-knowledge, which are the key qualities that are needed in self-knowledge process. The aim of the paper is to demonstrate the important role of continuous self-education as an integral part of the teacher's competencies applied in everyday pedagogical activities. The predominant part of the paper is devoted to the practical part carried out by mixed research, followed by the questionnaire survey aimed at finding out opinions on the area of teacher self-education at the Prague primary school, an analysis of these questionnaires follows. The sample of three teachers was chosen out of the total number of 13 respondents, with whom their motivations, forms, methods, time-consuming self-education, or obstacles preventing, them from self- education were ascertained in the form of in-depth interviews. The aim of the work is to improve the quality of teaching. The work points to the possibility of using action teacher research in an effort to implement innovations in the field of teaching methods for younger school age students and at the same time the development of their own professional competencies. It justifies the contribution of activating experiential and reflective methods for pupils in integrating the goals of the curriculum in the field of social science topics and the goals of personal and social education. The theoretical part maps the professional background of closely related topics such as teacher professional competencies, development of primary school teachers, innovative teaching methods, personality concepts, activation methods, experiential learning, experiential pedagogy, action teacher research, reflection and self-reflection. It also maps the background for experiential and reflective methods with support on the Framework Educational Program for Basic Education. Multicultural education at a primary school

The topic of the thesis is mapping the issue of multicultural education at primary schools. The main aim is to penetrate the current structures, to assess the possibilities of the teacher's work in the school environment and to find other ways of multicultural education of pupils in relation to the findings. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the legal environment of the issue at the level of the Czech Republic and the anchoring of multicultural education in curricular documents. It describes possible ways of thinking and approaches in contemporary intercultural education as well. It also includes the possibilities and principles of the educational process from the teacher's personality, his own competences, setting goals and content, appropriate forms and methods of work to the pupils and other factors influencing the lesson of multicultural education. The bachelor thesis is focused on the integration of a child with special needs into a regular kindergarten. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to detect the attitude and experience of teachers in kindergartens who experienced the education of a child with special needs in a regular kindergarten. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part is focused on educating of individuals with special needs, curricular documents included. The first part will also be focused on the psychological context of a pre-schooler, a child with special needs included. The theoretical part will also be focused on a competence of a teacher in context of inclusive education. The second part will be practical and there will be the research presented. The research will have qualitative design. The data collection will be done by deep interviews with teachers in kindergartens. The investigation is focused on attitude and experiences of teachers with a child with special needs in kindergartens.
Key problems of commencing teachers

This diploma thesis deals with the problems of beginning teachers. Its aim is to find out what the fundamental difficulties of teachers working in education for the first five years are. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and the practical part. The theoretical part first deals with professional development and teacher's competencies. It also describes professional preparation and assistance that is provided to beginning teachers. In the main chapter of the theoretical part, the problems that beginning teachers most often experience are specified. The description of the difficulties is based on an analysis of the literature and the results of the existing surveys. At the end of the theoretical part, the key surveys carried out in the given area are presented. The practical part is based on the results of a questionnaire survey. The respondents in the research group are beginning teachers of ISCED 1, 2 and 3 level. Based on the data obtained, the key issues are analyzed and the results of teachers of different ISCED levels are compared. Attention is also paid to professional training, assistance to beginning teachers and teachers' attitudes towards their profession. The practical part concludes with the comparison of the obtained data with the results of Professor Šimoník's research.
Problems of novice teachers

The present thesis Problems Faced by Beginning Teachers deals with the issue of beginning teachers and their problems in their first years of teaching. The aim of this paper is to identify key problems of beginning teachers. An analysis of scientific literature and other relevant documents, questionnaires and narrative interviews with beginning teachers were used to achieve a project objective. The thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter focuses on the concept of a teacher and their professional development. The second chapter describes teacher training, the third one deals with a role of mentors and the fourth chapter presents some potential problems that beginning teachers might face. The problems could be divided into several different categories, for instance, teaching problems, organizational problems, material and technical problems and social problems. The fifth chapter involves empirical research in the form of questionnaires, narrative interviews and my own introspection. The respondents are beginning teachers who are in their first five years of teaching experience.
Bases of establishing and maintaing authority in education from the perspective of student teachers in the international context

The dissertation thesis deals with bases of establishing and maintaining authority in education from the perspective of student teachers in the international context. The thesis is divided into six chapters, the first three of which lay down its theoretical groundwork. In the first chapter the term authority is defined both generally and from the point of view of education, then it is classified and categorized, which is followed by an outline of possible dilemmas authority may cause in education. The second chapter charts both internal and external determinants of establishing and maintaining authority in education, i.e. it deals with the influence of teacher's personality and expertise, pupil, interaction of a teacher and a pupil, official pedagogical documents, as well as social and cultural factors. The theoretical part is concluded by the review of the contemporary research of authority in education. The fourth chapter presents the research question and characterizes bases of the selected research methodology - grounded theory.
