This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of Martin Všetíček's Czech translation of Volker Klüpfel and Michal Kobr's novel Milchgeld. Solutions for these shortcomings are suggested using professional literature that deals with the theory of artistic translation. A thorough analysis of the translation seeks to help answering the question why there is a considerable imbalance between the success of the German original and that of the Czech translation. Key words: translation, analysis, Volker Klüpfel, Michael Kobr, Milchgeld, Mléčný groš, Allgäu dialect
