Assessment Centre Method Validation - Approaches and Options
Fousková, Petra ; Rymeš, Milan (advisor) ; Záškodná, Helena (referee)
The subject of this thesis is a validation of an assessment centre for employee selection, e.g. examining the validity of this method. Currently, the assessment centre represents an often used method of employee selection. At the same time, however, its implementation is demanding from the financial, time and personal perspective. If the assessment centre shall be considered an effective employee selection method, it is essential to pay attention to its psychometric aspects, especially the validity of its findings. First, the terms "assessment centre" and "validity" are defined and explained. Then, the thesis presents approaches and options of validation of the selection assessment centre based on scientific literature, articles and researches. Key Words assessment centre, employee selection, validation, validity

Correlation of human figure and tree drawings
Matoušková, Tereza ; Klusák, Miroslav (advisor) ; Kučera, Miloš (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the figure drawing test and the tree test from the projective point of view, based on the books written by Zdeněk Altman. I focus on the interconnection between these two kinds of drawings. The thesis contains the basic characteristics of these two methods and discussion about their scientific basis. I describe the process of using the books as manuals for drawing analysis. This thesis also contains results of drawing analysis and characterization of their authors. Fifteen adolescents placed in a children's home participated in research. In conclusion, I address the correlation of both drawings.
Processing of Incorrect XML Data
Svoboda, Martin ; Holubová, Irena (advisor) ; Nečaský, Martin (referee)
XML documents and related technologies represent widely accepted standard for managing and exchanging semi-structured data. However, surprisingly high number of XML documents is affected by well-formedness errors, structural invalidity or data inconsistencies. The aim of this thesis is the analysis of existing approaches resulting to the proposal of a new correction framework. The introduced model involves repairs of elements and attributes with respect to single type tree grammars. Via the inspection of the state space of an automaton recognising regular expressions, we are always able to find all minimal repairs. These repairs are compactly represented by recursively nested multigraphs, which can be translated to particular sequences of edit operations altering data trees. We have proposed four particular algorithms and provided the prototype implementation supplemented with experimental results. The most efficient algorithm heuristically follows only perspective repair directions and avoids repeated computations using the caching mechanism.
Reliability of evaluation in selected technical subjects
Konvičková, Hana ; Tvrzová, Ivana (advisor) ; Kasíková, Hana (referee)
v anglickém jazyce Annotation In the theoretical part of my bachelor thesis I deal with the definitions of school evaluation, conception of the current evaluation, types of evaluation, characteristics of evaluation, specifications of the secondary technical school evaluation, as well as the assessment in specialised subjects and reliability of the assessment as the condition of the objective evaluation. The empirical part deals with the level of reliability in the assessment of a set task in the subject - Commercial - Law Correspondence. The written and oral communication and written and electronic communication. The teachers of this subject, at three secondary technical schools in Prague 1, 4 and 9, were asked to give students a specific task and assess it according set criteria. One of the assessors was the teacher of the subject and I was the second one. The reliability was defined as the identity rate of the independent assessment of the same school tasks carried out by two assessors. In the summary I reflect the contribution and drawbacks of the research and the task assessment done by the other teachers and my own assessment. I try to suggest the steps for following the basic rules of criteria in business letters.
The Reliability of Measuring on the Skytec Interactive Ski Simulator
Novotný, Otomar ; Jindra, Matouš (advisor) ; Fořterová, Petra (referee)
Title: The Reliability of Measuring on the Skytech Interactive Ski Simulator Objectiv: The goal of this work is to investigate the reliability of the measurement of energy expenditure on the Skytech Interactive Ski Simulator. Methods: The sample consisted of 14 subjects, among which were 9 boys and 5 girls. The value of energy expenditure was measured by indirect calorimetry using the energy equivalent and respiratory exchange ratio. For the measurement of respiratory gases, the Metamax 3B metabolic analyzer and for the analysis of heart rate, the Polar S610 heart rate monitor were used. The subjects completed two measurements, each lasting 6 minutes. During this time, the data needed for subsequent calculations reliability were measured. Assuming that the pair of measuring has a two-dimensional distribution, the reliability equals the correlation coefficient. It was computed using the maximum likelihood method. Results: The measurement of energy expenditure on the Skytec Interactive Simulator provided consistent and reliable results. The findings in this study can be applied to further testing on this machine. Conclusion: The reliability of energy expenditure reached 0,84, a result better than the usual values of reliability tests, which may typically be about 0,8. Keywords: Energy expenditure,...
Analytical methods for measurement error estimation in survey data
Chylíková, Johana ; Vinopal, Jiří (advisor) ; Kreidl, Martin (referee) ; Buriánek, Jiří (referee)
Analytical methods for measurement error estimation in survey data This dissertation aims at the domain of measurement error in social science survey data. To conceptualize and estimate measurement errors it employs the analytical and theoretical framework that stems from the analytical method of structural equation modeling (SEM) and Classical Test Theory (CTT), extended with the component of the systematic measurement error. This thesis has two goals that may contribute to development and extension of Czech social science methodology. The first goal is to illustrate methods of measurement error estimation, which has not been used for analysis of Czech data yet, and to point out to some problematical aspects of these methods. The second goal is to employ presented methods to obtain new findings regarding the quality of data from Czech surveys. The dissertation presents three empirical studies, each of which uses one of the methods defined within the presented theoretical and analytical framework. First study presents an analysis of reliability of measurement with the Quasi Simplex Model (QSM). It illustrates how to use the model and brings optimistic results regarding the reliability of the Czech EU SILC panel data. In the second study the confirmatory factor analysis model, operationally called...

Doubková, Dagmar ; Bahbouh, Radvan (referee) ; Kirovová, Iva (referee)
My rigorous thesis is focused on the issue of Assessment Centre method (AC), its validity, contribution and objectivity, ethical rules and difficulties. The selection of competences studied by this method is discussed here as well. Strong and weak sides of the method are described by the SWOT analysis and possible opportunities and threats are pointed out in the work. The structure and the implementation of the AC method as well as its opportunities and real use in practice are described in the theoretical part of the work. This part of the work is also focused on the particular methods used within the AC methods. The differences between the Assessment Centres and Development Centres are brought up here. The AC method is compared with the other procedures which are used for the selection and development of employees. Opportunities and limitations of the validity of the measurement are discussed in this part of the work. The practical part of the work is devoted to the comparison of the AC method with other methods of selection and evaluation concerning the contribution and objectivity. The data analyzed in this comparison have been collected from the interviews with 27 HR managers and specialists. Four files describing the AC method from the point of view of the weak and strong sides are based on...
Validity of new boulder area difficulty scaling
Hannsmann, Johan ; Baláš, Jiří (advisor) ; Chaloupský, David (referee)
Title: Validity assessment of the grading scale evaluation in a new bouldering area. Objectives: The aim of this work is to assess the grading scale validity of bouldering routes in a new area. Methods: Routes grading was verified by a group of six men and four women. The evaluation took place during one continuous visit in the rocks with an individual rest period between problems. The classification of each of the 10 ascents was conducted immediately after finishing the specific problem. It was done individually, without the possibility to consult their guesses and ideas. The proposed difficulties of the classified routes ranged from 12 to 17 IRCRA. Results: The average rating of the route difficulty classification was 0.89 IRCRA points higher than the initial suggestion, with minor differences between men and women. The influence of climbers' performance on their ability to assess routes' difficulty was statistically insignificant. Conclusion: The first climbers of boulders in the area of Goethe rock underestimate the climbing grades, which proves that the determination of difficulty in local climbing centers can be significantly skewed compared to established standards. Keywords: bouldering, grading scales, IRCRA, validity
