Vošahlíková, Radka ; Ochrana, František (advisor) ; Půček, Milan Jan (referee)
This master's thesis offers comprehensive perspective of good governance concept in a theoretical level as well as from a practical point of view with emphasis on the Czech Republic. The objective of the thesis is to investigate the theoretical background of the good governance concept and its basic principles, focused on dealing with the concept in the Czech Republic. The work also provides the assessment of the critical points associated with the good governance concept implementation and attempts to provide the possible solutions to eliminate these points. Thirteen research interviews were conducted with the public administration staff members and the leading experts in the field to analyze the current state of good governance in the Czech Republic. Thematic analysis was utilized for this purpose and results have shown that good governance is not broadly applied yet. Besides the apparent issues such as problems with human resources, communication, politicization of public administration, departmentalism or absence of long-term vision, the key obstacle to implementation of the good governance concept in the Czech Republic seems to be low level of cultural and social standards.

Vanek, Marián ; Chrz, Vladimír (advisor) ; Šlédr, Jiří (referee) ; Lindová, Jitka (referee)
Basic element of competitive Dance Sport is the dance couple. For being succesful, it's needed to master the combination of specific dance skills, sport skills, stress resilience and skills connected to dance partnership, mainly communication skills and conflict resolution skills. Since the scientific research of conflict resolution among competitive couples is very scarce, aim of our explorative qualitative research is to understand how Latin Dance Sport couples experience conflicts and their subjective meaning of partnership in competitive dance. Experiences of dancers of various dance classes and their trainers were gathered using questionnaire (= 43) and half-structured interviews (= 13). Based on themati analysis, relevant themes were identified and described, and explanatory model further based on activity theory, game theory and theory of interdependence was proposed. Model suggests that contradiction of two different motives (competitive success vs. partner relationship) in the activity systems of competitive dance predisposes possible complex relationships between (implicit and/or explicit) aims of dancers, their type of partnership, possible expressed conflicts and their preferred styles of conflict resolution (based on the unique context of every dance couple). Relevant identified themes...

Dyachkova, Elina ; Rosenfeldová, Jana (advisor) ; Vranka, Marek (referee)
This bachelor's thesis aims to analyze binge-watching with the help of uses and gratifications theory and discover what motivates people to binge-watch. The literature review provides the necessary theoretical background for analyzing binge-watching behavior. It presents the definitions of streaming services and binge-watching as well as the theoretical basis of uses and gratifications theory. Then, this thesis introduces the existing research on uses and gratifications of TV and new media consumption, which have both proven to be relevant in the previous binge-watching studies. After that, this thesis discusses different approaches researchers have taken to analyze the uses and gratifications of binge-watching. In the empirical analysis, the thesis poses two research questions regarding the technological and psychological drivers of binge- watching. The thesis attempts to answer those questions by doing a thematic analysis of in-depth interviews where respondents share what features or psychological needs motivate them to binge-watch.

Persoglia, Davide ; Střítecký, Vít (advisor) ; Karásek, Tomáš (referee)
The present thesis deals with the US strategic approach and posture to cybersecurity from a national point of view. On such a topic much has been written already, nonetheless the present work finds a degree of originality by tackling such object of analysis shifting the focus to a ideational perspective. By drawing insights from the meta-theory of Constructivism and the rich research tradition on strategic culture, the present thesis aims at understanding what kind of norms seem to be informing/mirroring what has been labelled the US "cyber strategic culture", and if it is possible to speak of a "shift", or at least track an evolution regarding them, in a historical timeframe that runs from the early 2000s up to the present days. To pursue the stated research agenda, a methodology grounded in discourse and thematic analysis is utilised, with an analytical framework centred around two opposite "thematic normative categories" (themes) called "defensiveness" and "offensiveness", each characterised by a "story" made up by three sub-themes, delineating specific strategic behaviours. A set of official strategies, all tackling cybersecurity and published during the mentioned timeframe by both the White House and the military, form the primary sources to which such methodology is applied, with particular...
