Evaluation of the level of well-being in selected university students and mindset in relation to academic results

This diploma thesis focuses on the level of well-being of selected university students and their mindset in relation to school results. The theoretical part is focused on explaining the key concept of well-being and its possible measurement methods. The next big chapter consists of mindset, its brief characteristics and the possibilities of its division. At the end of the theoretical part, there is a chapter focused on the mindset of university students, the content of which is supported by many foreign studies. The practical part elaborates the collected data from on a questionnaire survey, which was based on the set goals, i.e. the determination of the level of academic well-being among selected university students with the expanding goal of determining well-being from a short-term perspective. To find out student life satisfaction and try to confirm the relationship between mindset and school success. When comparing the data, it was found that the overall level of well-being among the university students interviewed was above average, i.e. 6.06, which is a positive result and well-being in the short term is also at a relatively high level, specifically the average value was 5.7. The impact of school bullying on a child's school performance

The aim of the bachelor thesis was to analyse the impact of bullying on school achievement. The thesis is designed as a theoretical-practical one. The theoretical part describes the issue of bullying, the topic of school success and the impact of bullying on school success. The practical part describes the research conducted to find out what impact personal experience of bullying had on the school success of victims of bullying. A sub-objective was to formulate recommendations for victims of bullying regarding prevention and management of school failure associated with the experience of bullying. The research sample consisted of five female students aged 17-25 years who experienced bullying in elementary school. Interviews were conducted with these communication partners. The results are presented in the form of case studies. Contacts to professionals who deal with the topic were provided as part of the proposed recommendations. The importance of confiding in the bully or at least finding a functional way to survive bullying in the role of a victim was pointed out.
Gifted students in basic school

The central theme of this work is the issue of gifted and exceptionally gifted pupils and their education in primary schools. The theoretical part of the work deals with terminology, models of giftedness, characteristic manifestations of gifted students, cognitive and non-intellectual features and a specific group of gifted children, which consists mainly of students with double exceptionality and underperformance. It also analyzes the educational and educational needs of the gifted, provides an overview of legislative documents related to it, and presents approaches recommended by experts that can be effectively applied to gifted students in compulsory school education. The aim of the research part is to analyze the experiences of pedagogues - educational advisors - with gifted pupils at primary schools in the Rychnov nad Kněžnou region, through self-constructed questionnaires, at the same time to analyze their attitudes, approaches and orientation in the issue, as well as how nomination and identification of these pupils takes place and how they are supported in their education. Perception of parents when evaluating their children's school

This diploma thesis aims to delve deeper into parents' perspectives on their children's schools. The research intends to investigate the factors that parents consider significant when assessing their child's educational institution and also considers their own past experiences with schooling, which may influence their expectations for their children's education. The theoretical part explores the concept of school satisfaction, examines the current discourse on education with a focus on the parent-school relationship, and highlights socio-cultural disparities in attitudes towards education and their reproduction. The empirical section of the thesis outlines the research goals and questions and describes the use of semi-structured interviews with eight parents whose children are currently studying in the third year of grammar school or secondary vocational school. Detailed profiles of the participants are also presented. The collected data is analyzed and grouped into four main categories and other sub-categories, which provide insights into parents' perspectives on their children's education. The impact of available social support on the academic success of high school students

This diploma thesis was created to gain and write down the main findings about the issue of social support and its influence on the school success of students of selected grammar schools, and secondary vocational schools in Pilsen region. The findings are divided into three chapters, in which the basic findings are defined, which are based on professional literature and foreign studies in the given areas. In these chapters, concepts such as self- concept, adolescence, motivation, school success and failure, social network and three basic components of human formation in the form of family, school and peer group are defined. The research part focuses on the processing of the data, which was obtained through a standardized questionnaire, the Child and Adolescent Social Support Questionnaire (CASSS-CZ), supplemented with demographic data. There were 310 students participating in the questionnaire survey. The obtained data were processed with using the statistical method of correlation, descriptive statistics and the statistical tool of one-factor ANOVA. The role of the primary school teacher in creating a school classroom climate and his/her impact on school success

This diploma thesis deals with the influence of the teacher's personality on the classroom climate and school success of pupils. The theoretical part deals with the three basic areas described in the individual chapters - the personality of the teacher, the classroom climate and its actors and components, and last but not least, school success. The topic of motivating pupils in teaching also corresponds to school success, especially at present. In the practical part, the thesis presents the results of qualitative research conducted in the third grade of primary school, which is very specific in its composition, the school itself includes a special program for exceptionally gifted students and currently also educates a large number of students with different mother tongue. In addition, students with specific learning disabilities also appear in the classroom. The three areas described in the theoretical part are mapped by the methods typical for qualitative research, participatory observation, through observation sheets of own production and inspired by scientific literature, and a semi-structured interview with the class teacher. This diploma thesis was focused on the influence of family on the school success of lower secondary students. Theoretical part of the thesis was created on the base of compilation and comparison of literature. The experimental part was made by qualitative research. The aim of this part was to explore more deeply the influence of divorce on school success of lower secondary students especially at the subjects English and Civics.
