Couple Relationships in the Workplace

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of couple relationships at work, it pays attention to those relationships when both a boyfriend and a girlfriend or married couples meet each other at the same workplace. The aim is to find out how people in this case reflect the interactions between professional and private life. First part of the thesis describes important concepts and theories. Author of the thesis analyses interpersonal relationships in the first place, she shows how they are treated in literature and what is the effect of the relationships to the organisation functioning. At the same time she mentions relating researches both from abroad and the Czech Republic. The author's own research is also a part of the bachelor thesis. Based on 16 interviews with respondents, who are in a relationship while working together, the author comes with a summarization of their ideas about a relationship with someone from work, she describes its particularities from the view of the participants themselves, and she also notes that such relationships seem to be less problematic than it is presented in the specialized literature.
Characteristic differences in expected, accpected and offered social support between men and women in romantic relationships

The aim of the study was to determine the characteristics of gender differences in the anticipated and received social support in long-term heterosexual relationships. The author first created the theoretical basis for the issue of social support for subsequent empirical part. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with twelve adult respondents and on their basis was performed a qualitative analysis of the data. Interpretation of the data suggests that women and men were very similar in anticipated and received social support. The results were discussed in the light of studies on social support in relationships and gender differences. Intimacy in close interpersonal relationships

Close relationships fulfil the need of an individual to start and keep close relationships with other people. These are main basic needs of a human being. Partnership, family and friendship are all considered to be close relationships. We can find common elements among them but also there are specific differences. Intimacy is by all means one of the main components of close relationships and this work is focused on it. We mention knowledge which can be found in literature, emphasis is put on foreign sources. This work shows results of prototypical study of the term intimacy, which reveals layman structure of this term and offers, apart from traditional definitions, a different view of the subject, especially the contrasts which are typical for close relationships in partnerships, family relationships and friendships. We mention subtypes of intimacy which are also referred in foreign literature. We describe these subtypes of intimacy and we present results of a study of different subtypes of intimacy in partnership. This work tries to explain the term intimacy and point out in which way it could go in further research on this subject. Results are compared with foreign literature but also bring new insights. Possibilities of the social work on the support of the sexual and partnership of disabled people

Bc. Tomáš Drábek Praha 2011 Annotation The author of this thesis concerns the issues of charitable profession workers working with disabled people, in area of sexuality and partnerships. The workers tend to have wide knowledge in many disciplines, but in sexuality, which is so natural and closely related to the quality of life, are not instructed. According to the author, it is necessary to develop social workers' attitude towards sexuality during their professional training, and implicate a different behaviour towards persons with disabilities and their sexuality. Education in area of sexuality as well as disability studies should not be based on theoretical knowledge, but need to be conceived as a process of forming views at fundamental issues in this area. Therefore the aim of this thesis should be to declassify the topic of sexuality and to accept it as a natural part of life for everyone, including individuals with disabilities.
Intimate relationships of people with schizophrenia

The thesis is dedicated to intimate relationships of people with schizophrenic disorder (F20). The aim of this study was to determine the importance of intimate relationships attributed by women and men with schizophrenia in young adulthood. Their experience, ideals and expectations of partnership were also investigated. The theoretical part is divided into three parts. The first chapter describes the illness of schizophrenia, its characteristics, etiology, epidemiology, symptoms, deficits in cognitive and social functioning as well as current treatments oriented at psychosocial intervention. In the second chapter, the topic of partnerships of common people is presented. The third chapter describes the theme of partnerships in persons with schizophrenic disorder itself. The empirical part is based on qualitative methodology. Semi-structured interviews were undertaken with 11 respondents, investigating intimate relationships and sexuality of people with schizophrenia. The results are properly described and afterwards discussed with the available literature. In the conclusion, it is recommended further research and intervention in social relationships among people with schizophrenia.
How are people with mental handicap informed about sexuality

This thesis deals with the awareness of people with mental handicap in the area of sexuality and relationships. In the theoretical section defines mental handicap and describes in detail the issues of sexuality and partner relationships for people with mental handicap. This description includes human sexuality and its importace, stereotypes about sexuality of people with mental handicap and its specifications, legal documents pertaining to this issue and its current status. The theoretical part closes the chapter, which charts the possibility of sources of information on sexuality and partner relationships for people with mental handicap. Practical work examines how people with mental handicap know about sexuality and relationships and what sources they draw information. The research method was semi-structured interviews with 5 women and 5 men with mental handicap. At the end of the work there are several recommendation for non profit organization workers how to work with their clients.
