Kolovratníková, Anna ; Sokolová, Věra (advisor) ; Pavlík, Petr (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the concept of "coupledom" and the opinions of young adults, who are defined as young people from 26 to 30 years, on couple relationships. Based on semi-structured interviews, there is examined the basis on which young adults decide in the context of "coupledom", what changes they perceive in relationships and, last but not least, how they feel "coupledom" in relation to their private lives. The theoretical basis of the work is the introduction of the concept of "pairing" and what shapes it. In particular, the work deals with the democratization concept of a "pure" relationship and reflections on a progressive view of relationships. The analytical output of the work is the presentation of young adults' view of couple relationships, which shows that couple relationships are a constructed normative model with regulatory functions on the lives of young adults. Comparison of experience of men and women participants of the Czech local politics from the gender perspective
Šmejkalová, Jana ; Pavlík, Petr (advisor) ; Knotková - Čapková, Blanka (referee)
Although the representation of women in terms of the Czech local politics is higher than on regional and state level, still their total number does not reach the participation of men by far. In addition, women are more present on lower decision-making positions of local politics. It is possible to say that women are disadvantaged by the current political and social environment. The qualitative research used in the present paper focuses itself on the reflections of male and female politicians regarding their participation in local politics, whereas their consensus and differences in opinions are monitored especially in regards to such topics as mandatory gender quotas, position of men and women in the local politics, discrimination, and distribution of political agenda as per gender. It has been demonstrated that "the second shift" is the most important factor in the eyes of both male and female politicians, making the involvement of women in the local politics much more difficult. Stereotyped statements of politicians of both genders illustrate the image of the local politics as a significantly male dominated enviroment, where a woman can prove herself only after winning the imaginary battle with the whole system (and after overcoming the intra-party barriers) and for the price of a demanding...

Specifically this thesis is focused on single fathers, although many studies speaks of a certain percentage of single fathers in the Czech Republic, research on this topic has been carried out only a few times so far. For the most part, a woman is at the forefront of "incomplete" families. Single-parent family is perceived as a highly gendered experience, which is primarily related to women. The aim of this work was to find out what the experience of single parent looks like in the case of single fathers. This premise of this thesis is to explore what reasons have the fathers to choose to be single parents, what this type of commitment means for men, how they sign on their everyday life and especially how this type of primary care relates to the concept of hegemonic masculinity. Gender perspective thus provides a comprehensive insight into single-parent family and presents the perspective of the fathers themselves. For this purpose...
