Self-efficacy and burnout syndrome among teachers in primary schools

Annotation: Teching is a profession burdened with high working stress that can in long term lead burnout syndrome. However, not all teachers suffer from burnout. They can be protected by factors as is for example teacher self-efficacy or social support. This bachelor theses is concerned with burnout syndrome among primary school teachers and also with the relationship between this phenomenon, teacher self-efficacy and social support. Theoretical part concludes theoretical ground according to authorities in the field and findings from previous research. The purpose of the empirical part is to develop an instrument for measuring teacher self-efficacy and to explore the relationship between burnout syndrome, teacher self-efficacy and social support. A questionnaire consisting of five parts was used: anamnestic part, Shirom-Melamed Burnout Measure, teacher self-efficacy questionnaire, SVF 78 and ESSI. Negative correlation was found between burnout, teacher self-efficacy and social support. No differences were found between women and men. Differences in teacher self-efficacy and social support were found between teachers with high burnout scores and teachers with low burnout scores. Personality Traits of Students and Assistant Jobs

Diploma thesis ,,Personality Traits of Students and Assistant Jobs" The thesis deals with personality characteristics of students and professionals doing a job of a social service worker. The purpose was to find out whether professionals and students doing such job have necessary personality preconditions for their profession. The theoretical part describes personality preconditions required for this profession and, at the same time, warns of features that are unsuitable for it. It also includes information about pitfalls associated with this profession and methods of prevention and intervention that may help social service workers to cope with these pitfalls. Within the framework of the survey, answers to the asked questions demonstrated that students and professionals in this field don't have good preconditions for doing the job. Some of them seem to have been affected by a "syndrome of a helper" when choosing this profession. The conclusion of the thesis emphasises the importance of education, preventive programmes, self-experience training and supervision as prevention of pitfalls.
Burnout syndrome in the context of nursing

The content of this thesis is a research study investigating the relationship between burnout levels experienced by nurses working in the Czech Republic, Costa Rica, Spain and some US states. Through an online questionnaire, their degree of empathy, emotional attachment, and level of education were determined A questionnaire was developed by using the Copenhagen Burnout Inventory (CBI) in health personnel, Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI) to measure of dispositional empathy, Experiences in Close Relationships - Relationship Structures (ECR-RS) to assess attachment patterns in a variety of close relationships and an Emotion Thermometers tool a simple rapid modular screening tool for detection and monitoring of emotional disorders in clinical practice. Part of the questionnaire are an anamnestic questions to also analyze the demographic data. The questionnaire was sent by email to nurses working in the above countries. The group comprised a sample of 1123 nurses represented in the study from September 2018 to January 2019.
Occupational Stress

The thesis deals with load, stress and related questions of the working life. Work-related stress brings numerous difficulties not only to affected individuals, but as a result also to organizations. The thesis follows symptoms, impacts, somatic and mental aspects of stress, its types and also types of stressors, which cause this problem. It is concentrated on workload as a specific area of work-related stress, individual resistance to the load, factors of workload and work-related stress and also on coping with problematic situations. The specific topic related to the stress is burnout syndrome. The thesis describes its formation and development, its causes, symptoms in three main levels - mental, physical and level of social relations and then influence of important factors such as personality and work conditions. It is also focused on professions endangered by burnout syndrome and its prevention. Burnout of Nurses working at the Intensive Care Departments

This Bachelor's pursuit discusses the Burnout syndrome of a nurse on intensive care ward. It shows why the enthusiasm of a young nurse disappears so fast although she has the spark to start with. In the theoretical part the Burnout syndrome is defined, the cause of emergence, its stages, the utterences and prevention. The base of the empirical part stands on the quntitative research of the permanent exhaustion of the medical staff. It refers to the connection between the Burnout syndrome and the working environment, interpersonal relationships and private life of an ordinary nurse. In the research samples are nurses, working on five different wards within one hospital in Prague. The research was done through two different questionnaires: standardized and half- structured.
Supervision as a Way of Supporting Headmasters

The thesis deals with supervision as a way of supporting a headmaster. The theoretical part introduces the concept of supervision and focuses on forms, types and models of supervision, further, the Ethics Code of supervision and the managerial supervision are dealt with. The conclusion of the theoretical part pays attention to burnout syndrome that often affects people who work in helping professions. The practical part of the thesis finds out whether headmasters have notion of supervision, if they are able to characterize it what attitude they have to the implementation of supervision in their organizations, thesis examines whether supervision helps preventing burnout syndrome and how it affects qualities of headmasters' personal growth. Based on the survey with the selected headmasters, a proposal for the implementation of supervision at schools was created and developed. Educational Needs of Social Divisions' Workers on Municipalities in Former Česká Lípa District

The diploma thesis is focused on the matter of continuing education of social department workers in municipalities in former Česká Lípa district. Specifically, it looks at what the educational needs in this area, workers have. The theoretical part is focused on the terminology. Firstly, it devotes to the characteristic of the former Česká Lípa district from the perspective of social work performed by the workers of municipalities. It also discusses the continuing education of workers and training needs analysis. This part also describes the burnout syndrome that is related to a supervision which is also a part of this thesis. The practical part is focused on the social workers' needs of continuing education. The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out which of the skills and knowledge for workers are the most needed. In the research, there was used the methodology of quantitative analysis via halfstructured questionnaires and the following structured interviews in order to gain the necessary qualitative data. The partial goals are to find out if the willingness of workers to participate on continuing education has impact on the burnout syndrome, or how burnout syndrome is related to participation in the supervision.
