Methods for Soft Shadows Rendering
Ondruška, Jiří ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Navrátil, Jan (advisor)
This thesis discusses two different methods for creating soft shadows. Shadow volumes and shadow mapping, more accurately Variance Soft Shadow Mapping. It presents theory for these shadow algorithms as well as theory for few others which are necessary for understanding. Further it describes how to implement these methods and evaluates these implementations. Shadow volumes are based on creating additional geometry to the scene which serves for specifying region of penumbra. VSSM algorithm is a improved version of classic shadow mapping.

A Birth Plan- vision and reality
MOŠOVÁ, Kristina
Child Delivery Plan {--} Vision and Reality New approaches to the management of a child delivery and to the care of mothers and newborns have been currently emerging in midwifery, and an increasing number of women come to the delivery room with a child delivery plan. The plan mostly contains the requirements for the manner of the delivery management, presence of the partner and usage of various aids. The last-mentioned requirement involves the basic issue of the relationship between the child delivery plan and the nursing staff. Women have all sorts of requirements and the objective of the midwives should be to satisfy their wishes. However, they often face the problem of missing premises and aids necessary for fulfilment of the wishes of their clients. This bachelor thesis has two objectives, namely to ascertain to what extent the requirements and the wishes specified in delivery plans of women in labour are fulfilled in delivery rooms, and whether midwives have the conditions to fulfil the wishes. The theoretical part describes the issue of the manner of a delivery management, the form and the content of a child delivery plan, with the emphasis placed on specification of the most common requirements of women, and the role of a midwife in the care of a pregnant woman, woman in labour and puerpera. The research results have confirmed the raised hypotheses. The requirements of the women in labour who come to the delivery room with a delivery plan are satisfied. Mothers express satisfaction with the care in maternity hospital in dependence on the degree of fulfilment of their child delivery plan. The research questions were formulated as follows. Do midwives have the conditions to fulfil the child delivery plans? Are the requirements raised by women in labour feasible in the conditions of the maternity hospital? On the basis of the qualitative research we have obtained the answers to the research questions that can be formulated in hypotheses. Midwives have the conditions to fulfil child delivery plans. The requirements of women in labour are feasible in the conditions of the maternity hospital.

Mining XML Integrity Constraints
Fajt, Stanislav ; Nečaský, Martin (advisor) ; Svoboda, Martin (referee)
The most important integrity constraints in XML are primary keys and foreign keys. In general, keys are essential in understanding both the structure and properties of data. They provide an instrument by which va- lues from a given set of attributes uniquely identify tuples in a database. As a result, keys are important to main database operations. Since XML beco- mes lingua franca for data exchange on the web, it is widely accepted as a model of real world data. Because XML documents in general can appear in any semi-structured form, structural constraints (including keys) are often imposed on the data that are to be modified or processed These constra- ints are formally defined in a schema.Unfortunately, in spite of the obvious advantages, the presence of a schema is not mandatory and many XML do- cuments are not joined with any. Consequently, no integrity constratins are specified in those documents, neither. This thesis is mainly focused on the inference of primary and foreign keys from XML documents. 1

Urban environment analysis
Vrabcová, Markéta ; Matějů, Martin (referee) ; Czumalo, Vladimír (advisor)
Urban environment is varied and it is possible to peruse it from many points of view. At the beginning of my work I was thinking about the relation between religion and living envoironment. The religion specifies our relationship to the surroundings, places the restrictions or recommends how to treat the nature. In the countries where people live really deep spiritual life, religion has an importatnt impact on living environment. The contemporaneous western world diverts from intense religious life and looks for another way. Nevertheless it is not right to assume that the religious influence in atheist countries is low or none. The relationship between the human and the living environment is formed by the past of the nation too. It means that in Europe the Christianity basicly formed the relationship between people and environment. Christianity superordinated human beings above nature provided that human beings will look after it apropriately. The religion provided the basic condition of convenient relationship between human beings and nature. The religion affects also the fact what kind of architecture is projected. Secular architecture and sacred architecture always draws from spiritual testament of relevant era. It is important for our life to give rise to well - balanced secular and sacred places. An...

Water quality analysis in the Mastník catchment area
Mrkva, Luboš ; Janský, Bohumír (advisor) ; Chalupová, Dagmar (referee)
The quality of surface water in the Czech Republic has changed distinctly in two last decades. The pollution of important rivers has been reduced radically. Small rivers in agricultural areas, however, remain problematic. There is a long-term absence of information about such rivers concerning the purity of water. Mastník, which flows through the agricultural area of Central Bohemian Uplands and as a right-hand side tributary flow into the Vltava River, is one of those rivers. Quality circumstances in catchment area were analysed on the basis of data about the concentration of selected indicators, which come from three monitored profiles of the State public enterprise Povodí Vltavy. The present state of surface water quality was specified by means of ČSN 75 7221. Further, the development of quality was observed since 1995 and the reliance of the concentration on the flow or the season of the year was rated. All the data, which were acquired about anthropogenic and natural pollution of the river, are very important for precautions, which lead towards the improvement of quality of water in rivers. It was discovered that the precautions, which are made in catchment area lead to the improvement of the quality of water in Mastník. If the present state should be retained, the remediation of waste water must be...
