The impact of kindergarten teacher on the children from socially disadvantaged environment

The diploma thesis deals with kindergarten teachers who devote themselves to children from socially disadvantaged family backgrounds. It monitors the influence of teachers on a preschool child from this environment. The theoretical part elaborates on professional knowledge about preschool children, and the approach of kindergarten teachers to preschool children in the environment of kindergarten. It also concerns the socially disadvantaged family environment and its characteristics. It monitors the importance of kindergarten for these children. It processes information on the social and legal protection of children. Last but not least, it considers the issue of other helping professions. The practical part is focused on examining the experience and attitude of kindergarten teachers towards children from the environment mentioned above. Work with atypical children group with an aim on the development of social ability

This Diploma thesis focuses on the development of social skills in an atypical child group, particularly in the children`s homes groups. The goal of this research is to find out, whether a social skills programme can be implemented in the specific group. Further it is aiming to identify deficits in social skills of these children and to create activities, that would help with those areas to develop. The theoretical part deals with social skills and psychosocial development of children in primary school age. This part also focuses on the development specifics of children growing up in children`s homes and the principles and policies of work with the child group and the options of the children development. The empiric part contains the description of the methodology and analysis of the obtained data. In its first half, the empiric part focuses on the analysis of the extracts from the survey of work with the children. In its second half, it analyses the topics, that were frequently appearing in the survey. The thesis is enriched by detailed case studies of the children and extracts from the research diary. Sibling relationships from an adult perspective

In my diploma thesis I summarized the background and findings on family and siblings, the specifics of the sibling relationship and the factors that affect it - especially sibling positions, age difference, number of siblings and gender, that all based on specialized literature. Another topic that my diploma focused on was sibling dynamics - especially rivalry and jealousy and the development of a sibling relationship throughout human's life. The empirical part of the thesis was dedicated on quantitative research in which respondents answered questions about their personal sibling relationships. The chosen form of research was a questionnaire, that was divided into two parts concerning ‚the childhood' and ‚the present'. The aim was to see the adult's point of view and their subjective evaluation of their sibling relationships in childhood and in adulthood. The results of my research have claimed that the satisfaction with the relationship in childhood affects the satisfaction in adulthood, moreover respondents had been more satisfied with the sibling relationship they have in their adult life than in childhood (except for the position of middle siblings, who were more feeling satisfied in childhood). This thesis, entitled Motivation of employees of diagnostic institutes to perform a job, focuses on the topic of work in diagnostic institutes in the position of an educator and its specifics, characteristics, and work motivation. It consists of two main parts. In the first, theoretical part, the concept of motivation is defined and characterized. There are several basic approaches mentioned regarding its conception. Subsequently, this topic is expanded by the definition of work motivation. It is further accompanied by the most important theories that have an impact on how society views the issue. The expected factors which individuals choose as the reason for doing the profession of an educator are mentioned as well. The conclusion of the theoretical part is briefly describing diagnostic institutes, their legislative anchoring, goals and mission, and the list of required professions. It is further extended by a more detailed description of the educator profession. The theoretical part of the work is followed by an empirical part. The research was performed in the form of interviews with selected diagnostic educators. Annotation: Michaela Kaštánková Pecháčová's diploma thesis "The cooperation between family and school in the case of pupils with special educational needs from teachers' point of view" deals with the issues of school-family cooperation. It is divided into a theoretical part, which describes the functions of the family and school, forms of cooperation and communication between both parties. It also focuses on the role of educational counsellor and form teacher. Theoretical knowledge is mainly from the field of pedagogy, psychology, didactics and special pedagogy, as well as from professional experience. The second part of this thesis is the research. The research consists of two parts. The first part deals with the area of expertise of the educational counsellor during the online education. The second part researches the opinions of the teachers about the problematics of the cooperation between school and parents in primary educational system using qualitative interviews with teachers and subsequently their analysis. Preparation of a preschool child for the entrance to elementary school

This dissertation adresses the issue of preparation and readiness of a preschool child before his/her entrance to elementary school. The theoretical part is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is concerned with the definitions of basic terms, such as school maturity and school readiness. The second chapter is dedicated to developmental psychology of a preschool child. The third chapter is concerned with diagnosis of a preschool child from the position preschool education, and the last chapter is centered on a child at risk in elementary school. The practical part is dedicated to qualitative experimental investigation which obser- ves the advancement of teak parts in selected sample of children from normal and spe- cial class of kindergarten school and it is supported by an intervention program.
Cognitive processing of a child with autism

The aim of this work is to describe cognitive processing of a child with autistic spectrum disorder, to pause on its mechanisms and causes. The first part of the work presents a theoretical background for following interpretation of the data acquired in the research. Firstly it briefly defines autistic spectrum disorders, cognitive functioning of individuals with the disorder and above all two main psychological theories of autism: Theory of Mind (S. B. Cohen) and Weak Central Coherence Theory (U. Frith). The second part of the work recounts a process of the research. Its focus lies in a long-lasting work with a girl with autistic spectrum disorder and a girl from intact population. The both girls went through standard theory of mind tests, reading exams aimed at apprehension and mathematic written exercises. Research data come mainly from following interviews with the girls and observation of their procedure of thinking. Gained data were confronted with the mentioned psychological theories of autism. Final analysis shows typical characteristics of cognitive processing of the particular child with autism: detail focusing, physical thinking and perseverance.
Student with Autism Spectrum Disorder - Teacher's Perspective

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of students with autism spectrum disorder educated in elementary schools. The aim is to find out how teachers perceive these students. The theoretical part is focused on autism spectrum disorders, especially diagnosis of Asperger syndrome, students with this disorder, teachers and educational and training approaches to these students. The practical part explains the research metodology, which is based on semi-structured interviews with teachers who have experience with pupils with ASD a qualitative analysis of these interviews. Research data is presented, interpreted and results of the research are compared with relevant theories.
