AE source location by neural networks independent on material scale changes
Chlada, Milan ; Převorovský, Zdeněk
The localization of acoustic emission (AE) sources by procedures using artificial neural networks (ANN) represents today highly effective alternative approach to classical triangulation algorithms. The main problems are in the collecting sufficiently extensive training and testing data sets together with the non portability of particular trained network to any other object. Recently, the ANN based AE source location method has been improved by using so-called signal arrival time profiles to overcome both limitations. This way of signal arrival time characterization enables ANN training on numerical models and allows the application of learned ANN on real structures of various scales and materials. In this paper, the method is upgraded and localization results are illustrated on experimental data obtained during pen-tests on a model roof I-beam and an aircraft structure part. General application possibilities of the method variations for different sensor configurations are also discussed.

Prediction of Time Series Using Statistical Methods
Beluský, Ondrej ; Bidlo, Michal (referee) ; Schwarz, Josef (advisor)
Many companies consider essential to obtain forecast of time series of uncertain variables that influence their decisions and actions. Marketing includes a number of decisions that depend on a reliable forecast. Forecasts are based directly or indirectly on the information derived from historical data. This data may include different patterns - such as trend, horizontal pattern, and cyclical or seasonal pattern. Most methods are based on the recognition of these patterns, their projection into the future and thus create a forecast. Other approaches such as neural networks are black boxes, which uses learning.

Language recognition performed on a short text sample
Zahornadský, Ján ; Raab, Jan (referee) ; Bejček, Eduard (advisor)
This paper extends the work of Cavnar and Trenkle N-gram text categorization [2], enhances the study of statistics application on document language recognition as simplier variant of categorization. Proposed program shows qualities like modular design or running on one universal character set. As an enhancement of the original work is presented an automatic text sample filtration algorithm altogether with Internet text extraction and iterative improvement for this purpose. Presented paper studies accuracy development, concentrating on short samples. Similar work was not found in available literature, as categorization (and in corollary language recognition) usually assumes long enough input. In conclusion, a discussion about using the learned data and algorithms created here to mark foreign phrases. To be specific, we study the application on Prague Dependency Treebank [8], where the foreign phrases are not recognized, only their occurences specified.

The survey involved 18 respondents from dietary counseling UROCONT Ltd. in Pardubice and 46 respondents of Flora. The aim of the study was to compare the data of men and women within the age categories. Learn how different Body Mass Index (BMI), Waist to Hip Ratio (WHR), Percent Body Fat (PBF) in patients affected by diabetes and patients healthy. Key words: aging, age, nutrition, diet, obesity, malnutrition, diabetes mellitus, WHR, PBF, BMI, waist circumference

Laboratory works in physics for upper secondary schools
Koutská, Barbora ; Žák, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Kekule, Martina (referee)
This Bachelor thesis is dealing with laboratory classes at secondary schools. Thesis offers ideas for five laboratory classes which were carried out during regular teaching at the secondary school. Besides other things there are work sheets here to be used with given classes and for the teachers there are metodical instructions which have arisen from implementation in classes and from subsequent reflection. Laboratory classes are thematically focused on the field of vibration and interference which run through different fields of physics. The aim of these classes is mainly to develop students' creativity in solving problems, their practical skills during preparation of experiments, also to develop critical attitude to the information and the discussion about mistakes and negligencies which emerged during measuring and working on the computer. As it turned out in research dedicated to motivation in learning physics, laboratory classes prepared in this way - i.e. experiments carried out by students themselves and using computers in processing data - are loved by students and because of that they have a great motivational capacity.

Bínová, Eliška ; Pavlasová, Lenka (referee) ; Skýbová, Jana (advisor)
In the following pages we can find a comprehensive material for the education of medicinal plants and their usage in practical life. The text could be useful for teachers of primary and secondary schools. However its usage is not only for classwork, it might be applied in practical life as well. It also serves as an informative text of the theme mentioned. This work is primarily focused on Karlovy Vary region. The text is aimed at the most fundamental terms and notions of folk healing. Then it concetrates on the use of medical plants not only for tea therapy, but also for another processing. In this work you will learn basic information about the cultivation of medical plants and how are they herborized. You will also get acquainted with basic plant races which are growing almost everywhere. Medical plants are also used in liqueur industry. The bestknown brand is Becherovka. This herbal liqueur, which has two hundred-year tradition, is full of mystery. The basic teaching method in this work is a project. After short common introduction, where is an outline about how to make a project education, there are five elaborated projects with the same theme "medicinal plants". The aim of this work was to give basic information about medicinal plants. Furthermore there are elaborated school projects, which can be...

Links between the Feldenkrais method and the psychosomatic approach to voice education
Skovajsová, Tereza ; VÁLKOVÁ, Libuše (advisor) ; VOSTÁRKOVÁ, Ivana (referee)
The final thesis considers theme of links between the psychosomatic approach to vocal education and the Feldenkrais Method. Psychosomatic voice work is based on body-mind unity and assumes that a person's voice reflects her personality, and posits that through the medium of voice one can influence his whole self. The author reviews selected aspects of the psychosomatic approach to the human voice and considers voice as a means of self-knowledge and self-development. Created by Moshé Feldenkrais DSc. (1904 - 1984), the Feldenkrais Method is a holistic, experiential form of learning based on increasing one?s awareness through movement. The method employs movement to develop one's potential and quality of life. It is a multidisciplinary approach with diverse applications in a variety of activities. It draws on insights from neuroscience, physics, physiology, biomechanics, biology, psychology, child development, martial arts etc. The author presents the Feldenkrais Method from the perspective of reviewed topic, points out principles common to the two approaches, and asks how the Feldenkrais Method contributes to the development of one's vocal potential. The study?s main topic of investigation is the increase of the kinesthetic awareness of the self.

The goal of my bachelor thesis is to make a design of a multimedia device on general geography for deaf and hard of hearing pupils at primary schools. I focus above all on visual (graphic) design of the multimedia device, its organization and facilities and its interactivity. I describe in details one of the three chapters, the device should contain, the second chapter "The Earth - our planet" for illustration. DVD with this chapter demostration is attached to the thesis. The introductory part of the thesis brings general characteristics of the school subject "geography" (i.e. its content and objectives). I focus on its inclusion to the new curriculum documents, which follow the Framework educational program for primary schools. In the following section, I briefly outline the issues of the deaf education, in particular, what challenges deaf and hard of hearing pupils face within learning process. Next part of my thesis is devoted to textbooks content description. First of all, I describe textbooks in general. Then, I reflect in detail, what benefits have other types of textbooks comparing to paper ones. I focus on multimedia textbooks and their use in deaf education. The last part focuses on the chapter "Earth - our planet" description. In the draft, I tried to visualize the maximum of the learning...
