Project method at primary school

The diploma thesis: "Project method at primary school" deals with the development of new knowledge and skills through the project method, analysis of the quality of its use and possibilities of its application in practice. The work discusses how teachers work on projects with new information, how they develop new knowledge and skills of their students when using the project method. Furthermore it brings author's own project the purpose of which was to allow students to invent new knowledge on their own. The project method at the first school can be carried out by either short-term or long-term projects. Effectivity and quality of teaching is influenced by versatile development of personality of each student. Results of the questionnaire survey proves that the teachers are trying to ensure students enough opportunities for development of key competencies. They strive to put students in the working mood and try to build rich information background. Teachers knowingly consider these aspects however they are not convinced whether it is sufficient for the students. The work examines the impact of the transformation of the Czech education system after 1989 in the field of changed approach and understanding in the area of teaching and in the concept of education. The theoretical part describes the basis and nature of the changes of the concept of organizational forms and strategies of teaching. It provides explanation and overview of innovative methods, focusing on innovative - project teaching. Indicates the importance of the constructivist approach and the importance of introducing innovative methods in teaching. It describes the current process of professionalization of the teaching profession, with a focus on the professional competence of teachers. It points to the link quality indicators for schools and teachers with new methodological approaches, innovative methods of teaching and motivation of teachers for personal professional growth. This diploma work Addicted Substances - project for the lower secondary school is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The aim of this work is giving information about addicted drugs and method of teaching by form of projects, proposing and realization of project with this topic, which could be used for other teachers. Theoretical part is intent on summary of question of addicted substances, where the terms addicted substances, abuse of addicted drugs - its symptoms or risks, causes of drugs addiction and some terms, what are connected with this question (e.g. habit, tolerance, addiction, syndrome of abstinence), are clarified. In this work, there are also mentioned division of these substances in more points of views, character of chosen addicted substances, where is described basic division according to availability - legal and illegal drugs. Representatives or categories of addicted substances, their characteristic and effects on human organism, are mentioned within this dividing. The thesis explores possibilities of linking the symbolic frameworks and project method into a functional complex, which would enrich education. The reason of connection can be mainly found in strengthening the internal motivation of pupils and in bringing themes coming from the world of children into education as well.

Heritage education and learning: Cases from the North Catalonia Annotation: My thesis deals with the options of the cultural and historical education in France, in particular in the North Catalonia. The work represents the relation between regional monuments and schools.In the first part, I define the term cultural heritage as such, than I focus on two cultural resorts in the North Catalonia.The second part of the thesis illustrates the connection between the monuments and schools in France, emphasizing the project teaching. The patrimony, being not studied today as a separate subject, remains an important part of one's education. However, the knowledge acquisition offers a large variety of teaching styles. Lastly, my work shows the educational services with concrete realisations of the projects in cooperation with schools. Art education in the after-school club specialized on the using of nature resources

My Bachelor work deals with the possibility of the use of natural resources within the frame of the creative art education of children inside the after-school club. I try to focus on familiarization with different variety of natural resources and its utilization in context of pastime activities, concretely inside the after-school club. In full details described preparation and realization of the creative expression and using of natural resources are the part of the project documentation. The aim of my work is approach to the work with children during out- of-school activities inside the after-school club, encourage and support the creation of the positive relation to the ecology and respectable behavior to the nature, as well as using of natural resources for handicraft art.
Project "Class symbol" and a square grid

The thesis is based on the constructivistic approach to mathematics at primary school and geometry topics situated in the environment of square grid. It researches the extent to which pupils are able to use the experience with the square grid in the project method. For this purpose, observed two groups of pupils aged 10-11 years, experimental and control group. Work with the experimental group was situated in two weeks.
Development of pupils' independence by using the project method

The aim of this thesis is to determine whether it is possible to develop pupils' independence by way of the project method, which is based on my own practical experience. The thesis is divided into two main parts: the theoretical part and the practical part. The theoretical part summarizes and evaluates the knowledge gained by studying the available literature on the topic of pupils' independence and the theme of project method. The conclusion of the theoretical part summarises the bases for the development of the self- reliance via project method. The practical part analyses my previous teaching experiences, like the use of project method in terms of pupils' independence and this analysis is followed up with the practical research, based on a new project which is focused on the development of the pupils' independence in the activating teaching methods that have not been used yet. The part of the appendix includes final pieces of pupils' works from some of the projects described in the practical part, pupils' mind maps from their projects and photo documentation of the newly realised project, which was aimed at developing pupils' independence.
