Growing Microgreens in Nursery Schools

The diploma thesis focuses on the topic of cultivating microgreens in nursery school. Microgreens are young plants of various species of vegetable, that are grown in soil and are harvested approximetely after ten days. The simplicity of growing microgreens makes it an appropriate activity for preeschool-age children. Besides rewarding the children with nutricious food, it brings children the oppoturnity to develop key competences and pre- literacies. The theoretical part is an information base for growing microgreens in kindergarten conditions. It describes cultivating plants in kindergarten, it deals with historicaly, legislatively and didactic point of wiew and also describe kinds of microgreens, possibilities of use and cultivation procedures suitable for kindergarten. The aim of the diploma thesis is to present the possibility of growing microgreens in nursery school with preschool children. The empirical part focuses on the design and implementation of a set of activities in which children in kindergarten grow microgreens. In addition to cultivation, other activities are also included, in which children use the topic of microgreens in individual stages of growth. Current reforms of institutional pre-school education in the Federal Republic of Germany

The doctoral thesis focuses on the development of preschool education in Germany. It was composed using the tools of comparative education research especially the qualitative research paradigm. It aims to analyze the contemporary reforms of the pre-primary education in Germany. The research design stands on a case study, which is based on the document content analysis method, semi-structured interviews with experts, and participating observation. The research has focused on the system settings in preschool education, as well as on ongoing reforms itself. The study outlines the development of pre-school institutions, external conditions and the possibility of managing preschool education in Germany. It provides an analysis of curricula documents as well as the insight into current alternative models and innovative approaches in preschool education. Also it elaborates the topic of contemporary situation in teaching staff and the trends in his training, and finally identifies the current reforms, trends and challenges in preschool education in Germany. Promoting adaptation of children in early childhood in pre-school education in Denmark and Germany

This diploma thesis deals with an issue of a support of an early-age child in pre-school education in Denmark and Germany. The aim of the thesis is to analyse framework conditions as well as used approaches of pre-school institutions in early-age children adaptation in pre-school institutions in Germany and Denmark. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part deals with pre-school education in context with the systems in Denmark and Germany, with the characteristics of educational systems in these countries, an early-age child development and an issue of an early-age child adaptation in a pre-school institution. The aim of the empiric part of the thesis is to analyse the conditions, personnel securing and adaptation programmes usage in three selected foreign pre-school institutions. The empiric part provides the aims of the research, research questions and methods that were used in the research construction. Furthermore, it specifies three selected pre-school institutions (one in Denmark, two in Germany), characterises their space and material conditions and daily timetables for early-age children. Inclusion of children with physical disabilities in nursery school

The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of inclusion of children with physical disabilities in pre- primary education. The theoretical part summarizes the knowledge of the development and current state of common education of children in pre-primary facilities. The legislative framework for education of children with physical disabilities in the Czech Republic is analyzed. The specifics of education of children with physical disabilities and possibilities of their support in kindergarten are outlined. Attention is also paid to the requirements for the personality of a teacher or pedagogical assistant in an inclusive environment in interaction with children with physical disabilities. In the practical part, the methodological basis of empirical research is first defined, which consisted in processing a number of case studies of children with physical disabilities, which were included in pre-primary education in mainstream nursery schools. The data were collected through in-depth interviews with nursery school teachers and analysis of school documents and other documentation for individual children. Work with children with postponement of school entrance in current practice of pre-school education

In my bachelor's thesis I am dealing with issues related to the postponement of compulsory school attendance. I have researched the topic in accordance to the new conditions - the introduction of the compulsory pre-school education of five-year-old childern. The thesis is divided into two main parts − a theoretical part and a practical one. The purpose of the theoretical part is to introduce the topic. The development of the view on the concepts of school maturity, readiness and competence, and the legislative legalisation of the postponement of beginning of the schol attendance is presented here. It also outlines the development of postponements of school attendance from approximately, the middle od the 20th century to the present, and a brief comparison of the Czech Republic and some other European countries concerning the issue of school attendance. Since the rate of postponements of compulsory school attendance in the Czech Republic is relatively high, the countries where the share of posponements is lower, we used for the comaprison. The aim of practical part is to find out how are the childern with postponed school attendance in selected kindergartes in the Vysočina region and Prague being prepared and supported fot the future school attendance.
