Comparison of competency models of headmasters at elementary schools in Prague 10

The thesis deals with the comparison of the competency models of headmaster of elementary schools in Prague 10. The theoretical part explains the basic terms as "competency", "key competency" and compares the definitions of different scientific sources. It describes their structure as well as the life cycle. Further on the thesis deals with the competency models in general and primarily with the models of the managers of the schools. The role of the competency model is highlighted as well as its reasons and its implementation. In the practical part the thesis deals with the qualitative investigation where the author compares the competency models that were created by shadowing and some other additional methods. The competencies were evaluated on base of the criteria of the competency model created by I. Lhotkova (2012). The output of the investigation is a case study in which the differences of the headmaster competencies in Prague 10, with similar conditions of leading the schools and with similar support from founders, are described. Big discrepancy in the competencies were not proved, on the other hand similar issues were detected.
Educational needs of headmasters at various school levels

The master's thesis "Educational needs of headmasters at various school levels" deals with education of headmasters of various school levels. In particular, it deals with educational needs of headmasters at kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools. The aim of the thesis is to find differences among educational needs of headmasters of various school levels and its mutual comparison. Theoretical part works with resources for identifying and comparison of educational needs. Those educational needs are in this thesis identified through "Competency model of the headmaster of the school". Headmasters of mentioned school levels specify required level of partial competencies and evaluate its real situation. Headmasters also have the possibility to bring their own proposal for type of educational need and provide also their recommendation for supplementation of current offer in the field of education. Research was realized through the form of questionnaire. Findings of the research brought, that educational needs of headmasters of secondary schools differ a lot from needs of headmasters of kindergartens and primary schools. Competences of a soft skills trainer working in the private sector

This diploma thesis deals with the competence model of a soft skills trainer working in the private sector. It looks into the specifics of adult education with emphasis on the presentation of barriers when educating adults. Furthermore, this work discusses adult education specifics while focusing on the differences from the education of children and youth. This diploma work focuses on a trainer's personality requirements, his competences, and it presents expectations related to the trainer. A soft skills trainer's competence model is drawn up on the basis of theory presented and research carried out. The research focuses on three groups of participants to educational process - representatives of an educational organization as a trainer's employer, ordering party of an educational event as a trainer's customer and trainers themselves.
Managerial competence of managers of kindergartens in the Czech Republic

This final thesis deals with the topic of Managerial competence of managers of kindergartens in the Czech Republic. It is based on the current needs of kindergartens to describe the issue of managerial competencies for each management position in this type of school, especially with accordance to their further education and evaluation. Aim of this diploma work is to analyze and identify the key managerial competencies that are substantial and significant for individual performance management functions in kindergartens. Its first part is focused on the explanation of the theoretical approaches. The research part presents some of the findings on the issue of competence, offers a competency model for managerial positions in the nursery schools, and helps to explain the current educational needs of their managers. Final part of this work suggests recommendations to the founders, directors and other executive workers of nursery schools or educational centers for lifelong learning.
Cluster analysis of final thesis dealing with the term competence

7 ABSTRACT: This thesis analyzes the final thesis, bachelor's and master's ones defended at The School Management Centre Department of the Education Faculty of Charles University in Prague for the period from 2010 until 2012. This thesis deals with cluster analysis theses dealing with the term competence, particularly in the area of school leadership, that leaders and managers of schools. Theses researches of adequate extent i.e. eight bachelor's and three master's theses, will also focus on competence in the field of personnel management at schools. A qualitative method will be used for the thesis work, which will be conducted content analysis of the text and its interpretation, whose main tool is an effective methodological comparison. It is necessary to observe the principle of objectivity. The final theses will not be evaluated otherwise objectively compared. The thesis work is indicating any differences between claims that have not been investigated. The comparison will focus on the tools to determine ways of grasping the subject, the author styles, etc. The resulting model presents a comparison of research expertise of final university thesis dealing with common theme competence in the field of school leadership, summary knowledge of the topic. TITLE: Analysis of the evaluation criteria of kindergarten headmasters by founders in Pardubicky region AUTHOR: Bc. Lenka Marková DEPARTMENT: School management centre SUPERVISOR: Mgr. Jiří Trunda ABSTRACT: This thesis analyzes the current criteria for evaluating the work of kindergarten headmasters. The criteria were created by community representatives as founders of the kindergarten. The thesis also focuses on identifying indicators leading to the fulfillment of the evaluation criteria. Monitoring headmasters views on the current criteria, which they are valued, is the part of research. Through the analysis criteria, surveys and informal interviews with representatives of the founders and headmasters the deficiencies in the structure and list of criteria were found. The research has shown inconsistency and formality outlined evaluation criteria with absence of their indicators. Based on the findings was recommended evaluation criteria to include all areas of the kindergarten headmasters. Indicators, that show the way to meet the criteria, were also suggested. Assessment for selection and development of employees: Competency model for entry-level salespeople in services

This thesis focuses on the proper use of various assessment methods for selection and development of employees in various positions within an organization. The selection and use of assessment methods have been tailored to practical requirements for each position in the organization with regard to their specificities. This current thesis elaborates on the assessment for technical, administrative, managerial jobs with special emphasis being put on the assessment for sales positions. Within the strategic assessment programmes the thesis deals with assessing the potential of individuals and the prediction of future behavior which is of great importance for the organization's future success. An Integrated Model of Potencial is specifically mentioned in this chapter and its practical use is suggested. In the second, empirical part of the thesis an attempt has been made to create a specific competency model for entry-level services salespeople and proposals for its practical use have been outlined. Competency model for theatre acting profession

My thesis discusses competencies necessary for the profession of a stage actor and requirements and demands on such professionals. The aim of my thesis is creation of generic competency model of the profession of a stage actor, which could be useful to drama oriented theatre organizations in the Czech Republic. The thesis approaches the topic of competencies and competency approach in human resources and focuses on selected acting theories. On such theoretical foundations the competencies are identified through expert panel method and the generic competency model of acting profession is assembled. Development of a Competency Model for the Assessment of Scientific Thinking of Science Graduates

Our society is currently facing significant changes in the labor market. The changes are brought by the trends from Industry 4.0. The assumption is that higher-skilled positions will gradually come to the forefront of interest: employees who hold specialized positions requiring deeper knowledge and skills, staff with the ability to solve complex problems. The system including knowledge, skills and also to some context values and attitudes is called 21st Century Skills. These skills must be also incorporated and reflected in education, including science education. Science education needs to take into account the above-mentioned as this has direct impact and implications not only on scientific knowledge but also on skills such as critical and analytical thinking, the ability to do research, problem solving or decision-making processes. The system of such key knowledge, abilities and skills is included in the concept of scientific thinking and reasoning. For this reason, the curriculum of schools, including universities, requires development of thinking and reasoning, which would enable them to find a good job on the labor market.
