Ways of creativity development in elementary mathematics education

3 TITLE: Ways of creativity development in elementary mathematics education SUMMARY: This thesis deals with creativity - from a general concept to a more specific perspective - creativity in mathematics lessons and textbooks at elementary schools in relation to the curriculum method and transformation of a number of textbooks towards unique teaching methods. The aim of this thesis is to describe the current situation on a selected sample of experimental groups - elementary school classes (two of them second year and three of them fourth year) which specialize on integration of pupils with specific learning and behavioral disabilities as well as extraordinarily talented pupils and thus provide the broadest possible range of pupils, which enables to find possible links between the used methods and creative teaching approach including creating one's own teaching materials and consequently searching for possible ways to develop creativity of pupils in relation to used methods, textbooks, other materials and forms of work. This thesis uses the following research methods: quantitative and qualitative research, empirical methods - observation, description, analysis. Art education for mentally disabled pupils - project "Myself"

The bachelor thesis researches the possibilities of the project method of teaching in art education for person with mental handicap. The theoretical part discusses the characteristic of mentally handicap person, their artistic expression, special art education and artefiletic. There is also mention problems of project teaching. The practical part deals with the project, which is partially realized. The project aims is development of creativity, self-expression and enjoyment from artistic activity. In the next part is the presentation of products with take reflection down. The purpose of the project wasn't only his own creative expression. The project is led to self expression, cooperation and joint communication. Through drawings to express their feelings and thoughts. I managed to express unconsciously their goals and value. Finally, I stated the project method can be successfully implemented with the mentally handicapped.
Inquiry based mathematics education: case of fractions

The theoretical part deals with approaches to teaching, especially constructivistic, instructivistic and transmissive approach. The goal of this part is to compare the approaches and evaluate them considering the permanency of knowledge and active engagement of students. Simultaneously it aims at evaluating the approaches from the point of their of the mechanical knowledge. The charter dealing with inquiry based mathematics education is focused on teaching related to constructivistic approach. The next chapter describes tool called concept cartoons, which can be used as a mean to research. The theoretical part is focused on the topic of fraction, especially fraction interpretation and models and fraction representation. The second part of the thesis describes a survey realized at basic school. I narrowed the problem to fraction interpretation and representation according to survey of student's work. The next part of research is based on this analysis. Trying to accomplish the aims and find the answers to questions of the survey I chose strategy inspired by action research, because the main goal of the research was to improve and enhance my teaching knowledge and skills. Development of music and movement choreography for preschool children using my own didactic tools

Master's thesis addresses the implementation of didactic tool to musical movement activities of preschool children in kindergarten with respect to the integrative nature of education. The first part of the thesis is covering theoretical side of the important aspects of child development at the age of five to six years. Further it deals with the specifics of the development of musicality in preschoolers, especially focusing on instrumental side of the music. It highlights the musical creativity that flows from the principles of Orff School. Musical creativity is one of the objective of the thesis second, practical part. Here thesis research music educational project whose main component is a methodical set Cup Song that contains suggestions for practical usage. Experiment, observation and structured interview are used as methods of research that is focused on verification of the Cup Song impact on a musical and personal development of the child. Development of children's creativity for leisure activities with various materials

ABSTRACT: In the theoretical part of this work I was paid the most concise summary of scientific findings on the general theme of creativity and its separation from various angles. In the practical part, I then conducted research with Torranceho creativity tests, which aimed to identify and record the progress and development of creativity in a selected sample of students in primary school, which has been for four months, targeted action. Hypothesis only visible shift in receptive students has not been confirmed. Better test results were found for most students. It surpassed my expectations. Targeted activities for pupils and proved to be a suitable way of developing creativity.
Creativity of teachers in the educational process in primary school

The diploma thesis "Creativity of teachers in an educational process in primary school" focuses on creativity of teachers, which is a prerequisite of every teacher in current education. The thesis is divided into two parts; theoretical and practical. The theoretical part focuses on general knowledge, which appertains to the questions of creativity in the work of the pedagogues. In this part, the important factors are also described, which help to lead to the creative approach in the teaching. One of these factors is using activating methods. These represent the main approaches of the pedagogues to teach creatively. The theoretical part is also focused on the position of the teachers in the process of school inclusion and on the appropriate teaching methods and strategies for inclusive education. The practical part focuses on activating methods in teaching. The investigative survey was carried out via questionnaire, and its main objective was to explore the extent of using activating methods by teachers at basic schools. It also looks at whether these methods are considered to be an appropriate instrument to the creative and effective mediation of the curriculum for all pupils, including pupils with special education needs. Philosophical reflections of creative experience

Fridmanová, M.: Philosophical reflections of creative experience This dissertation is dedicated to the topic of the creative experience. The creative experience is not something "made" by us, but at the same time it does not occur without our activity and readiness. The basic question addressed by this dissertation is, how can we contribute to the process of being met by creative impulses and to the ability of grasping them and finally transforming them into a piece of art. The dissertation sets off from a premise that current notions of creativity are referring to a romantic conception, stating that the work of art is made by a genius creating through supernatural powers, which are beyond his personal grasp. In the 20th century, the creative experience has undergone a vast scientific examination, especially in the field of psychology; which confirmed that creativity is possessed by everyone and can be developed. This result raises the question, which aspects of the creative process can be affected and which cannot? The first chapters of the dissertation elaborate on the philosophical interpretation of three expositions of the creative experience - by Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, and Gadamer.
