Project Education of Pre-medical First Aid

Title: Project method of teaching pre-medical first aid Abstract: This thesis addresses the teaching of first aid at the second level of secondary schools with focus on the project method of teaching. In the introduction the reasons leading to selection of topic are mentioned. This is followed by the objectives set for this thesis. The theoretical part is devoted to school documents and the theoretical basis for teaching first aid, which includes the definition of first aid, emergency calls, guidelines for providing first aid at selected life- threatening conditions. Among the very important chapters of the theoretical part is the didactics of first aid, which aims to provide useful advice for creating the most effective first aid teaching in terms of organization and methodology. The chapter also briefly discusses topics such as teaching objectives, motivation, didactic principles of teaching, methods and organisational forms of teaching. In the research part of my thesis, I aim to compare whether project-based or frontal teaching organisational form of teaching is more effective for first aid teaching. In this part I address the research questions and hypotheses. In the conclusion there is a brief evaluation of whether and to what extent the aims of this thesis have been met. Knowledge of lower secondary selected school pupils about dental hygiene

The bachelor's thesis deals with the knowledge of lower secondary students of a selected school about dental hygiene. The theoretical part is focused mainly on the prevention of dental caries and dental aids. There is also described the anatomy of the oral cavity, the morphology of the teeth, the structure of the teeth, the structure of the teeth as a whole and the most common diseases caused by insufficient or incorrectly performed oral hygiene. The practical part is mediated by a questionnaire survey, which took place in the 9th grade of primary school in Havlíčkův Brod. The aim was to find out what knowledge the students have about dental hygiene, dental aids and teeth in relation to the subjects of health education and natural history. The second partial goal was to find out what is their most common source of information about dental hygiene. The results of the questionnaire survey showed that the pupils of this school have a satisfactory knowledge of dental hygiene, but the anatomical knowledge about the teeth and the problems caused by the insufficient hygiene of the oral cavity is less satisfactory. Verify the effectiveness of Ladislav Daniel's "Bridge Book for 2nd primary school" in practise

Author abstract In my thesis I pursued verify the effectiveness of Ladislav Daniel's "Bridge book for 2nd Primary School" in practise. This textbook had the task to compare the dificiencies and gaps in the music skills of students 2nd Primary School, which become from the music lessons at 1st Primary school. I realized my exploration in the 6th classes of one Prague school, where I have been this year teach music. The status of the music skills induced me to try Daniel's "Bridge book for 2nd Primary School" and return the music lessons between "living subject". Before my exploration I had to realized the initial review in the experimental group and in the control group too, read up Daniel's methodology of music education, textbooks with its methodological guide and analyzed Bridge book for 2nd Primary School with its methodological guide. Pursuant these books I worked out the studing plan of each lesson with methodological steps. At the beginning of the experimental teaching students accesed the lessons very critical. But in a short time they became very active. They carried away new skills and knowledge from each lesson, which they could used and repeat in the next lesson and learn some new. Comparison of primary prevention at the second level of elementary schools in Most and Prague

The diploma thesis Comparison of primary prevention at the second level of elementary schools in Most and Prague discusses the implementation of primary prevention at the second level of elemetary school in these two selected locations. The diploma thesis is thematically divided into six chapters. The first part defines the basic terminology related to the topic of primary prevention. This section also contains information about particular topics of risky behavior and counsulting services of elementary schools. The second part follows a survey among school prevention methodologists in Most and Prague. The objective of the following practical part is to identify and compare what form and under what conditions is implemented primary prevention of risky behavior among pupils of the second level of elementary schools. For the survey was used quantitative method, in the form of a questionnaire divided between school prevention methodologists in both cities. In the final part there are interpreted the data obtained in the survey, which confirmed that in both areas there are different approaches to the implementation of primary prevention at the second levels of elementary schools. Program of Practical Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease in Lower-secondary School Students

This diploma thesis deals with the risk factors of cardiovascular diseases in children and their prevention. It briefly describes the influenced risk factors of these diseases and the prevention of their occurrence. It also focuses on preventive programs of cardiovascular diseases in our country and in the world and describes them in more detail. It also provides an overview of current biology textbooks for the lower-secondary school and their evaluation based on whether and to what extent they deal with the issue of cardiovascular diseases. The aim of the thesis is to create a program directed at the prevention of cardiovascular diseases in children at the lower-secondary school, to use it in practice at a selected lower-secondary school and to evaluate its effectiveness in a subsequent questionnaire.
The Role of Teaching Assistant at Elementary School

This thesis concerns the cooperation between teacher and teaching assistant (TA) at mainstream elementary school, with the emphasis on perception of TA's presence at the first stage and the second stage of education. It is comprised of two sections. Theoretical part is divided into three chapters. The first chapter focuses on the current concept definition of integrative and inclusive pedagogy, and coherent changes in recent years. The second one outlines the professional approach to TA, with emphasis on their usage at mainstream schools, including their employment abroad. The last chapter targets on mutual relationship of TA and other pedagogical staff, teachers and students themselves. The practical part of the thesis is devoted to mixed research which has two parts. The first one deals with the role of TA at mainstream elementary school focusing on his cooperation with teacher, in terms of a first-stage and second-stage class. For purpose of this part of study was chosen the qualitative research method with the usage of semi-structured in-depth interview. There were selected three respondents with required profiles. The Use of Games in Teaching English at Upper Primary Level

This diploma thesis deals with the use of games in the Czech upper primary EFL classroom. In the theoretical part, the author attempts to categorise games in general, as well as at a pedagogical level and to characterise the methodology of using games in English language lessons at upper primary level. In the practical part, the author, through quantitative research, focuses on the real use of games by teachers of English at upper primary level, using surveys to find out whether games are used to teach at upper primary level, to what extent and for what purpose. Through the use of a survey addressed to pupils of upper primary schools, the author aims to find out whether there is a general interest in playing games during English lessons and whether games are seen as a meaningful tool for learning English. Qualitative research by means of interviews and observations aims to find out how demanding the preparation and implementation of games in English language teaching is and the extent to which participants, both pupils and teachers, perceive its meaningfulness.
