Options of "Employing" of Volunteers in Czech Public Libraries
Lišková, Kateřina ; Drobíková, Barbora (advisor) ; Stöcklová, Anna (referee)
The main target of this diploma thesis is to focus on the area of volunteers in libraries and librarianship, mainly in the Czech Republic and try to summarize the voluntary tasks or services in these public institutions. Firstly, the text tries to explain the main ground and principles of volunteering, also the historical background and terminology. Secondly, the thesis deals with the voluntary network, their centres, reflexion, motivation and legislation. The main part focuses on the comparison of German and Czech faces of volunteering in the libraries and the results of questionnaire done in the chosen Czech libraries are presented and commented. The conclusion includes all received knowledge and information and outlines the potential possibilities of the usage of volunteers in libraries and public sector in the Czech Republic (including suggested working tasks volunteers can be used for). Crisis intervention via electronic communication (on-line chat, on-line videochat)
Čechová, Kateřina ; Havránková, Olga (advisor) ; Lišková, Kateřina (referee)
This diploma disertation deals with the topic of on-line crisis intervention (KI further on in the text) in the Czech Republic (CR), specifically the service functioning of the online chat and videochat. This topic has not been paid attention to so far. The topic concerned is a rather new service area which provides service to the clients in a difficult situation on the internet and which has been working for past few years in a few KI centres (workplaces). No professional has tried to search it systematically or describe it in more detail yet. Considering the fact the internet is a widely used medium in our population nowadays, a high future potential of these services can be expected in the field of psychosociology. Therefore this diploma disertation aims to give a detailed description of the on-line chat and videochat functioning and necessary connections at KI centres (workplaces) in order to create a quidebook to the basics of these services for specialists and amateurs who are interested in this topic. Secondly, this diploma disertation is written to inform about the process of implementing the on-line chat into KI centres (workplaces) at three contemporary providers in CR, and to make the readers understand what the whole process is about. At the same time, this is to compile all the data for a...
Subject classification systems in public libraries in the Czech Republic
Personal Management in Organisation. Case Study of Child Helpline Assiciation.
Lišková, Kateřina ; Bergerová, Marcela (advisor) ; Moree, Dana (referee)
This master's thesis is concerned with personnel management in organizations involving teams of both proffesionals and amateurs. The first part of the thesis gives a theoretical overview of the key trends in the human resources management, with a special emphasis on the differences in management approaches to proffesionals and amateurs. It is followed by a case study of the Safety Line Association comparing the theoretical knowledge with the practice of this NGO. Providing the theoretical framework, the association's organizational analysis as well as its employees feedback, this thesis offers some recommendations for modifying the existing personnel management procedures in this organization.
Manager decision making
Lišková, Kateřina ; Kopecký, Martin (referee) ; Tureckiová, Michaela (advisor)
The basic topic of this presented bachelor thesis is the manager decision-making. The main theme of this text is to present the decision-making process. The first part of the thesis summarized basic knowledge about the manager decision-making. There are described and explained main elements of the decision-making process and are mentioned several types of common manager decision-making process. The main part of this paper characterizes the decision-making process and gives information about particular steps of this process, from the identification of the problem to the evaluation of realized decisions. Further part is focused on description, explanation and giving reasons for the importance of quality manager decision-making process and necessity of information for decision-making process. The final part is concentrated on differences, advantages and disadvantages of the intuitional and rational decision-making.
Effect of metal ions on the rheological behaviour of polyelectrolyte solutions
Lišková, Kateřina ; Běťák, Jiří (referee) ; Janeček, Jiří (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on two parts. The first one deals with rheological behavior of sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC-Na) solutions in the presence of sodium and calcium ions. The solutions of various concentrations were prepared by solubilization in aqueous solutions of NaCl or CaCl2. The effect of monovalent and bivalent ions on apparent viscosity and viscoelastic properties of these solutions was studied. It was found that in the case of low concentrations of CMC-Na in the sample (up to 0.5% w/w) the elastic character increases. At the same time the stiffness of the sample is higher with higher concentration of calcium ion in the solution. This increase might indicate the formation of gel network. On the other hand the viscosity of these solutions decreases with higher concentration of calcium ions. In case of solutions with concentration higher than 1.5% w/w changes of viscosity did not happen by influence of addition ions. Rheological behavior was compared also with solutions prepared without adding an electrolyte as well as with acid form of carboxymethylcellulose (CMC-H). In terms of second part the molecular dynamic simulations of hyaluronan tetramer both sodium and calcium in aqueous medium were performed. Structure and arrangement of water molecules in the surrounding of hyaluronan chain were studied. Structure was described by formalism of radial distribution functions. In the case of system containing sodium ions only, the obtained results are in accordance with earlier published data. Presence of calcium ions does not cause qualitative changes during the radial distribution functions in comparison with the system with sodium ions.
Stability of humic acids in production of eye drops
Lišková, Kateřina ; Mravec, Filip (referee) ; Bilerová, Helena (advisor)
Glykoaminoglykans are the biological active compounds, which significantly affect the physiological processes in living organisms from under low concentrations. Marked representative of this group is hyaluronic acid. It is linear polysacharid, whose primary structure is consists of D-glucuronic acid and N-acetyl-D-glucosamin linking by glycosidic bonds (13) and (14). It is occurring connective tissues, synovial fluids and vitreous humor too, in which forms system with unique rheological and optical properties. Except of human body is its concentration especially high in the cockscombs. Hyaluronic acid has very high ability to bonding molecules of water, increasing molecular weight a then viscosity of aqueous solutions too. This fact together with characteristic viscoelasticity and lubricating properties plays an important role in preserve of organism. Acid, but its salt too form basic component of compounds using in ophthalmic surgery. It is using in extraction of cataract, operation of glaucoma, implantation of crystalline lens and corneal grafting too. Aim of this bachelor work was a determination of stability of hyaluronic acid solutions along the production of eye drops. Main objective was using by rheological measurement detect the influence of addition polymers (PVP, PACA, PEOX, PEG, PUD, PEI) and different pH on stability, degradation aqueous solution of hyaluronic acid at sterilization in the steam autoclave respectively.
