National YMCA groups in Czechoslovakia and Poland - their establishment and successful development of physical culture during the periond from 1918 to 1939

The dissertation looks at the history of one physical education organisation which was of great significance to the development of physical culture in inter-war Czechoslovakia and Poland, despite this not being its only activity. The YMCA came into being in England but it particularly flourished in the United States of America. During the First World War, Czechoslovak and Polish soldiers were given a taste of their activity, being accompanied home by members of this in- ternational association after the war had ended. Following requests from military and political leaders of the time, the American YMCA sent its secretaries to the newly established Czechoslovakia and renewed Poland to help establish the first local associations. It was particularly due to them that new practically unknown sports, were introduced to the region. In addition, in both Czechoslovakia and Poland, the YMCA also took responsibility for having new physical education fa- cilities built, improving training methods and generally enhancing young people through sport. During the inter-war years, local YMCA groups and their mem- bers performed exceptionally well in a number of sporting disciplines and ranked among the top Czechoslovak and Polish athletes. Title Assessment of the 2nd Grade Elementary School Pupils in Ústí nad Labem Region and Their Attitude Towards Physical Education Problem Researches and investigations from the recent years have been indicating a decline in a physical activity of children during their free time. This fact is also reflected in physical education lessons, especially at the level of their skills, fitness and performance, but also in their overall interest in this subject. Physical education teachers often solve a fundamental problem in their classes and that is a low motivation of pupils to move. One part of the learning process is also an evaluation where the teacher takes into consideration a number of factors. An objective consideration of all partial factors, for which a student can be evaluated during physical education lessons, into an overall grade is a very complex and difficult process for the teacher. The thesis deals with the examination of the levels of selected sports movement capabilities of sports firefighters who run the campetition for The Hořina Cup in the West Bohemian Region. The aim of this work is to compare the results of sports movement capabilities of sports firefighters using selected sports movement tests. Further verify that teams with better sports movement capabilities have better fire attack results. An important part of the thesis is theoretical knowledge in the field of fire sports, sports movement capabilities and sports movement tests. Use of tactical variants of defensive game systems of floorball teams in the highest competitions of the Czech Republic and Finland

This thesis compares the use of different tactical variants in the defence game of Floorball teams of both Czech and Finnish elite competitions. The aim of the thesis is to map and compare the use of defensive game systems. The theoretical part is devoted to comparing the history and the present of Floorball in the Czech Republic and Finland. In this part, the thesis also deals with sports training, game performance, and tactical training and describes the individual Floorball game systems and the sport itself. In the practical part, observations are used to evaluate, which defensive game systems are most often chosen by the selected teams. The use of game systems was investigated using the method of indirect structured observation and quantitative research. The output is of the thesis are annotated results of the individual matches. Long fasting and its effects on athletic performance

TITLE: Long fasting and its effects on athletic performance AUTHOR: Vít Uher DEPARTMENT: Katedra tělesné výchovy SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Martin Dlouhý, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: The main purpose of this these is to introduce the reader to the issue of long fasting with zero calorie intake and to find out how a ten-day fasting period will affect athletic performance. I did the experiment on myself, especially by monitoring the best possible performances in the chosen exercise disciplines. In the second part of the research, I focused on the analysis and comparison of these results with the performance before the start of fasting. The result of the experiment was an average affect on athletic performance in the range of 4.93 %, except for the flexibility rate, which increased by 100 %. The first part of this thesis is addressing the general characteristics of volleyball including the game content and its mechanics. In the next part, the author aims to describe the important events of the volleyball history both in the world and in the Czech Republic specifically. The main part of the paper contains detailed information about the evolution of volleyball rules together with the most important adjustments from the beginning until today, in chronological order. The final part of the thesis compares the development of several chosen rules, outlining their advantages, disadvantages, and potential impacts on the game.
