Children with Autism and their Interests

The aim of this thesis is to map the interests of the child with Asperger syndrom then compare them with the interests of the child in the same intact age, and on comparisons to specify the common and different features of interest. Another goal is to assess whether the development of a boy with Asperger syndrome and intact boys changes their interests. I focused on the boy with Asperger syndrome whether there is the possible link of interest based on the specifics of the disability itself. The theoretical part is devoted to describing the characteristics of autism spectrum disorders more closely with ideas about Asperger syndrome. It also includes the characteristics of interests and game of intact children as compared with the specifics of the game and the interests of children with autistic spectrum disorders. Qualitative type of research and the method of observation have been chosen for purposes of empirical studies. The practical part follows the theoretical part. It is complemented by concrete examples in the form of two case studies, which were based on the observation of a boy with Asperger's syndrome and the intact boys, and also based on additional information obtained from interviews with parents due to the need to complete anamnesis data.
The stigmatization of mothers of children with Aspergers syndrome

The bachelor thesis "The stigmatization of mothers of children with Asperger syndrome" deals with the issue of courtesy stigma, it focuses on its manifestations, consequences and it maps where stigmatization usually occurs. The main goal of this thesis is to find out whether mothers of children with Asperger syndrome feel stigmatized and if so where does this phenomenon occur. The theoretical part of this treatise aims to describe the main concepts of stigmatization, parenthood and motherhood and Asperger's syndrome. The thesis is built on qualitative research which is based on ten in-depth semi-structured interviews, it's specifics are further described in its methodological part. The research results are analyzed and interpreted in the last chapter. Stigmatization appeared to some extent among all respondents, but its manifestations and consequences differed depending on other life experiences, marital status but mainly the severity of the child's diagnosis. Three main areas in which stigmatization occurs were identified, around close friends and family, in public and during contact with institutions and professionals.
Employment of people with autism spectrum disorders

The bachelor thesis deals with adult people with Autism Spectrum Disorders, especially Asperger's Syndrome and High Functioning Autism, in connection with their employment in the Czech Republic. The goal of this thesis is to find out the labour opportunities and the support for these people. The thesis consists of a theoretical part and a case study. Introductory chapter describes Autism in general and defines all of Autism Spectrum Disorders. The second chapter is already focused on adults and the problems they face and which often set apart the current society. The third section includes the possibilities of employment for people with autism, supported employment services, the legislative framework of people with disabilities and last the benefits which employment of persons with autism provides. Case study in the end of the thesis concerns a man with autism who used supported employment services and found a job that suits him. The Experience of Teachers with a Pupil with Asperger's Syndrome in Primary School

The diploma thesis follows the bachelor thesis "School and Counselling Trajectory of a Child with Asperger's Syndrome", where the experience of children with this diagnosis and their parents with school attendance was described. This time it is viewed from the perspective of primary school teachers who have experience with a pupil with Asperger's syndrome. For data collecting a semi-structured interviews about Asperger's syndrome were used and a qualitative method was chosen. Based on the analysis of the results, the following areas were found: "how it all started", what it means to have a pupil with Asperger's syndrome in the classroom, conflicts, what helps, experiencing inclusion of a child with Asperger's syndrome by his class teacher, "…so one wonders, if it's worth it". The results most often included the individuality of the child and the lack of time and space on the part of teachers in meeting the individual needs of included children, the importance of support from the teaching assistant and also the importance of cooperation with the child's family. The work also includes the theoretical definition of the inclusion of pupils with Asperger's syndrome into regular primary school. Inclusion of a pupil with Asperger syndrome at the elementary school

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of inclusion of pupils with Asperger's syndrome in primary schools. It analyzes the inclusion of selected student with Asperger's syndrome and it's based on a case report, verifies the success of inclusion in a practice. The main aim of this diploma tesis is to describe and analyze the factors, which contribute to the inclusion of pupils with Asperger's syndrome in education in a regular school. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis deals with the definition of Asperger's syndrome and other issuses related to the inclusion. The research analysed the obtained data and answered set research questions.
Analysis of Solving Math Problems in Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (and its relation to cognitive processing of students)

The dissertation thesis addresses the topic of mathematical tasks processing in students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and problematic points of their solution. The aim of this work is to delineate methods that ASD students use to approach these tasks and solve them. We focus primarily on whether it is possible to identify different procedures than those used by typically developing students, and whether these procedures show specifics corresponding to distinct cognitive processes. In the theoretical part we provide a theoretical background for the study. Firstly, we create a frame to understand the complexity of autism, furthermore we deal with psychological theories examining the topic, and describe specifics of development of ASD students during their adolescence. Thereafter, we reflect on studies addressing mathematical skills of ASD students. Mathematics is considered as their great strength, however is not sufficiently scrutinized, as highlighted by various international studies (for example Oswald et al., 2016). The empiric part is based on qualitative methodology and pursues comparisons of mathematical tasks processing between six ASD students and typically developing peers.
