The teacher's personality in relation to the stress situations coping strategies and its influence on education

The dissertation deals with the topic of managing and experiencing stressful (extraordi-nary) situations in teaching in connection with selected teachers' personality traits. The thesis has a theoretical-empirical character. Its theoretical part presents some basic know?ledge related to the topics relevant to the processed issues (teacher's profession, persona?lity, motivation, emotion, workload and stress in the teaching profession context, selected teaching methods and organizational forms, recommendations for effective teaching and learning difficulties solutions, basics of artefacts symbolic interpretation). The aim of the research described in the empirical part of the thesis is to obtain the detailed information about the experience of difficult situations in teaching and the possibilities of their man?agement in connection with the personality structure of the selected teachers. The re?search was carried out in the mixed methods design. His qualitative part contains a multiple? case study (semi-structured interviews were conducted with six lower se?condary school teachers, their teaching was observed, an interview about their thematic collage on the theme Me as a teacher in all its positions and roles was conducted, and the same questionnaires were applied as for the quantitative part of the survey) and some open coded interviews about the thematic collages. In the quantitative research section, the data from four questionnaires were evaluated the orientation questionnaire for detecting stress in teachers by Henning and Keller (1996), the Stress Management Stra?tegies SVF 78 (Janke & Erdmann, 2003), the Freiburg Personality Inventory (Kollárik, Poliaková, & Ritomsky, 1984) and a questionnaire of our own design contains open questions. Most of the participants in the research study experience extraordinary situa?tions in their teaching, which usually cause unpleasant emotions and affect their teaching negatively. Particular relationships between personality characteristics and the teaching of the participants have been found. Respondents did not show a higher level of psychoso?matic disturbance, emotional lability, depressivity or neuroticity compared to the com?mon population. Neither between the level of stress feelings and the age or length of practice, no statistically significant relationship has been found. On the contrary, the male self-description and the adaptive burden management showed a mutually significant con?nection. Also, a higher level of stress impact in physical aspect of women compared to men proved to be statistically significant.
Role of study abroad for future teachers

(in English): The master's thesis The Role of Studying Abroad for Future Teachers deals with the impact of an international study visit on prospective teachers and identifies areas of their professional training which can be affected most. The theoretical part of the thesis expands on studying abroad and the Erasmus Programme. It also deals with the teacher's personality, their competencies and pedagogical skills. The practical part of the thesis is devoted to specific international study visits within selected academic fields; it also analyses the respective study plans and estimates the extent of their possible influence on future teachers.
Implementation of health issues in the undergraduate education of teachers

The aim of this thesis is to find out how the future teachers adopt a stance on health and if they are ready to pass the information on health issues of their pupils. Currently reveals how faculty of education prepares future teachers in terms of health issues and his support. The theoretical part devote to teacher's personality, general health issue, but also specifically teacher's health, the determinants of health, the issue of health literacy and burnout. The practical part is focused on research of personal attitudes of future teachers towards health and their awareness in this direction. The outcome of this work is to propose an elective subject, whose inclusion in the program of study at faculties of education can give students the opportunity to obtain the necessary information relating to health in relation to the development of health literacy among students in their future teaching profession.
Specification of the care for climate at the 3th grade of the primary school

TITLE: Specification of the care for climate at the 3th grade of the primary school SUMMARY: The objective of this diploma work was to research whether alternating of three and more teachers might have a negative impact on the classroom climate. The theoretical part provides a definition of personality characteristics of pupils in the third grade of primary school with respect to the management of classroom climate. I analyse the factors influencing the classroom climate such as family influence, pupils' groups and particularly personalities of teachers, their management and organisationof teaching, further their communication style, evaluation and cooperation among teachers. The practical part focuses on the research of the classroom climate using the method My Class Inventory (MCI). Another applied method is interviewing class teachers. The practical part is completed with a questionnaire filled out by pupils. The results of the research confirmed the change of the classroom climate in the third grade where three and more teachers alternate. These changes are manifested especially by more frictions and higher competitiveness. The diploma thesis deals with the personality of a teacher at the first grade of primary school and his influence on the climate of a class. The theoretical part is dedicated to school class like a small social group and phenomenon, which exists there. It examines the personality of a pupil, a teacher and his properties, where the emphasis is on the teacher's style of teaching, education and interaction. Finally the attention is paid to concept climate of a class. The practical part aims to evaluate interaction style of a teacher and to measure a climate in the particular classes, to compare them and find out, what influence interaction style has on pupil's satisfaction in the class. Occurrence of specific learning disabilities of primary education pupils at selected basic schools and teachers work with these pupils

This thesis is focused on occurrence of specific learning disorders among primary education pupils in the selected basic schools and teachers'work with these pupils. The theoretical part of the thesis aims on delimitation of specific learning disorders; diagnostics; re-education; and potentional learning possibilities. Practical part analyses teachers' preparedness for specific learning disorders in the regions of Hradec Králové and Prague. Data were collected by means of questionnaire method. The thesis' objective is to discover a frequency and type of learning disorders occurring in the selected basic schools; how are teachers prepared for the issue of specific learning disorders among basic school pupils; and what methods are used in education of pupils with learning disorders. Secondary objective is to discover a share of pupils with learning disorders in inspected classrooms. Examined data showed that teachers have necessary professional qualities for education of pupils suffering from learning disabilities.
Teacher, collegiality and collaboration

The thesis is focused on collaboration, cooperativeness, and mutual communication of teachers that represents one of the key pillars of the successful process of education. The cooperation of teachers is very important in the new conception of the school education program as well as in fulfilling cross-sectional topics and interdisciplinary relationships. The theoretical part describes basic terms, teacher's personality, his (her) roles and profession competencies, authorities and reputation of the teacher. The theoretical part also features information regarding collaboration of teachers in general, typical forms of the collaboration, deals with the role of school in teachers' collaboration. The aim of the empirical part is to map a topic of collaboration and cooperativeness among high school teachers. An additional aim is to analyze whether the cooperativeness and collaboration represents a benefit for high school teachers, and, eventually what might hinder such collaboration. Parents' expectations from the personalities of the contemporary teacher of primary school

The aim of this thesis is a theoretical level summary of the formal and other requirements that are placed on the contemporary teacher of primary school. It covers concepts such as teacher competence, teaching role, various pedagogical knowledge and skills and teacher job requirements. Description of the legislative regulation of the teaching profession is also included. Part of the theoretical work is concerned with other components of teaching such as professional ethics, professional standards, pedagogical tact and personal qualities of the teacher. At the practical level the work deals with real requirements on teachers imposed by parents based on assessed questionnaires to parents of pupils. In the comments on the individual items of the questionnaire, the author relies on the experience of her own teaching practice. The result of both parts of the thesis is a summary of the knowledge, skills and character qualities, which is the teacher supposed have today. .
The View of Older School Age Student to Teacher's Personality

The older school age is very considerable in terms of developmental psychology. The pupil's characteristics require an adequate reaction, a specific attitude and a psychological knowledge of the teacher. Pupils have some ideas of the teacher's personality, which may not correspond with the requirements imposed by experts. The presented work defines the factors, that are likely to affect the perspective of the learner of older school age to the personality of the teacher. There are recommendations, how to deal with the undesirable factors and generate or enhance the positive factors as well, so that it would indemnify the necessary positive relationship of the older school age pupil with the teacher.
