Challenges of integration of foreign pupils at primary schools

This thesis deals with the theme of integration and education of foreign pupils at primary schools. Further, it presents the findings which are connected with this theme. It focuses on classification of challenges and problems which can occur when the pupil starts to attend a school in a foreign country, and tries to find possible solutions and preventive measures as well. It has been confirmed that teachers see positive contribution of a foreign pupil in the class but they also admit and express concerns about insufficient preparedness and the lack of materials for work with the foreign pupils. The empirical part of this paper analyses three case studies which have been made thanks to observation of the foreign pupils and thanks to interviews with their class teachers. This part also concerns with teachers' opinions and their view of the challenges that are brought up by the presence a foreign pupil. The outcome of the thesis is a set of sample work sheets intended for foreign pupils. These worksheets are compatible with the textbooks for teaching Czech language which are commonly used at primary schools. This thesis is focused on an education of students with different mother language (OMJ) at the first degree of primary school. It's consist of two parts. The terms specified in the theoretical part are related to student OMJ, influence of foreigners in Czech republic. This part is also focused on educating student with OMJ at Czech primary schools. The practical part of thesis describes research which was implemented in various schools. Qualitative part of this research was made on sample of five students with different mother language, who each visits different primary school. The goal of the whole research was the obtain data about education of students and also the way the teachers works with their language goals of teaching. Specifics of the work of a novice teacher when integrating a pupil with a different mother tongue at a Czech primary school

This thesis deals with the problematics of the work of a novice teacher, who has a pupil with a different mother tongue in his class. Its aim is to identify the specifics that usually accompany the work of novice teachers when integrating these pupils. The text is structured into two parts, each of which is further divided into several chapters. The first, theoretical, part compiles and then presents expert knowledge on migration, inclusion and then education of pupils with a different mother tongue and, last but not least, the role of the school as well as teachers in the process of integration of these children. It also sets out the criteria that affect and influence pupil integration with a different mother tongue. The second part of the thesis is practical. It contains an analysis of the work of two teachers who currently have pupils with a different mother tongue in their class and are trying to integrate them. It is focused on the specifics of working with them. The analysis of their work is carried out on the criteria set out at the end of the theoretical part of this thesis. Sociocultural disability of foreign pupils and professional qualification of teachers The aim of the dissertation thesis is to analyze the vocational qualification of teachers in relation to socio-cultural disability of foreign pupils (pupils with a different mother tongue). The theoretical part presents current knowledge regarding the issues of education of foreign pupils (pupils with a different mother tongue) in Czech and foreign background. It defines basic approaches to socio-cultural disabilities and content framework of vocational qualification in relation to foreigner's pupils. The theoretical part is based mainly on the latest intercultural education, special education and other educational disciplines. Another source of information is an empirical study which determines what should be the content of training teachers to effectively teach foreigner's pupil (the pupil with a different mother tongue). This thesis deals with teaching Czech as a second language for pupils with a different mother tongue at primary school. Collects and presents professional findings on this topic. Diploma thesis explains the difference between Czech as a second language and Czech as a foreign language and compares them. The thesis examined what is necessary when the teacher is planning the lesson. Further, describes in detail the various materials and textbook Domino 1 in terms of a beginning teacher of Czech for foreigners. In the practical part of the thesis submitted to analyse three topics. Based on this analysis and complete analysis of theoretical knowledge, textbooks, and materials originated recommendations for a beginning teachers. The thesis also deals with a utility of textbooks of Czech as a second language in a regular classroom. The practical part includes ideas for games in a lesson or samples of worksheets. The result of the work is to evaluate teaching materials and sample other tools that can be used in the Czech lessons for foreigners. The diploma thesis on the topic of Integration of pupils with different mother tongues in the environment of selected Czech schools consists of a theoretical part and a practical part. In the theoretical part the basic terminology and issues related to pupils with different mother tongues is defined on the basis of a literature search. In the first part of the work I deal with migration as a phenomenon and also with the development of migration in the territory of the Czech Republic. The main goal of this diploma thesis entitled Pupils with Different Mother Tongue is evaluation of the set support measures created at FZŠ Trávníčkova. Moreover, the thesis aims to summarize the current requirements and needs of parents of pupils with different mother tongues. The theoretical part reviews reference literature on the topic, deals with terminology related to adaptation, and presents a summary of support measures at FZŠ Trávníčkova. It also includes a presentation of the school and the city district. The practical part is based on four research questions aimed at determining the satisfaction, degree and frequency of communication. Moreover, other needs of parents of pupils with various mother tongues and the degree of involvement of these parents in community activities of the school. The practical part is carried out by using several research methods - a questionnaire, interviews with parents or teachers and an analysis of school documents. This diploma thesis deals with the school climate in the context of pupils with different mother tongues and the process of integrating pupils with different mother tongues into the school. The practical research examines a specific Prague primary school, which is attended by a large number of pupils with different mother tongues, and the school has therefore long-term been involved in the integration and education of pupils with different mother tongues. The aim of the thesis is to describe the process of integration and to monitor the support in education and adaptation of pupils with different mother tongues. The aim of the thesis is to find out what help is beneficial for these pupils and also to find out what is the view of teachers, parents and pupils of a specific school on the presence of pupils with different mother tongues in the school.
