The Role of the School Counseling Centre in Elementary and Secondary Education

This thesis focuses on the significance and role of the school counseling centre in the context of modern education. Its main objective is to analyze and evaluate in detail the functioning of the school counseling centre at a specific school in Prague through a combination of theoretical knowledge and empirical research. The work is divided into two parts - the theoretical part and the practical part. The theoretical part examines the development and current state of counseling in education, its principles, and approaches. Emphasis is placed on presenting the roles of individual members of the school counseling centre and their importance in supporting students in various areas of their lives and learning. The practical part of the work deals with a specific analysis of the operation and functioning of the school counseling center at a selected Prague school. The conducted empirical study utilizes qualitative methodology. The results of this analysis are subsequently presented with the aim of identifying strengths and opportunities for improvement in the work of the school counseling office. Based on the findings, specific recommendations and strategies are proposed for optimizing the services provided by the counseling center to achieve better support for students and their needs. Mapping a concept of classroom lessons of sixth and ninth grades of lower-secondary schools

The bachelor's thesis focuses on the course of classroom lessons in the sixth and ninth grades of primary schools in the South Bohemian Region. The theoretical part works with professional literature that describes the form of the classroom lesson, the role of the classroom teacher, teaching assistant, prevention methodology and educational consultant within the framework of the classroom, and last but not least, it also focuses on the specifics of the age of the sixth and ninth grades. The practical part works with the results of a questionnaire survey. The aim of the thesis is to map the concept of classroom lessons, and to compare the real situation with recommendations in professional literature.
The role of an educational counselor at a primary school from the point of view primary school pupils

The diploma thesis is focused on the role of an educational counselor in elementary school from the perspective of elementary school students. The theoretical part of the work is oriented to the system of consulting services in the Czech Republic, legislative anchoring and insight into the history of consulting services. For the coherence of the text, cooperation with a pedagogical- psychological consultancy, a special pedagogical center and an educational care center is also mentioned in the theoretical part. The theoretical part is mainly focused on the role of an educational advisor. Prerequisites and qualification requirements for the performance of the work of an educational consultant are described here, followed by the ethical principles of the work and, last but not least, the activities of an educational consultant, which are reflected in the practical part. Annotation: Michaela Kaštánková Pecháčová's diploma thesis "The cooperation between family and school in the case of pupils with special educational needs from teachers' point of view" deals with the issues of school-family cooperation. It is divided into a theoretical part, which describes the functions of the family and school, forms of cooperation and communication between both parties. It also focuses on the role of educational counsellor and form teacher. Theoretical knowledge is mainly from the field of pedagogy, psychology, didactics and special pedagogy, as well as from professional experience. The second part of this thesis is the research. The research consists of two parts. The first part deals with the area of expertise of the educational counsellor during the online education. The second part researches the opinions of the teachers about the problematics of the cooperation between school and parents in primary educational system using qualitative interviews with teachers and subsequently their analysis. School counselling centre and its role at the first and second grade of the elementary shool

v anglickém jazyce: The Bachelor thesis is dealing with the functioning of the school counselling centre on the first and second grade of the elementary school. The theoretical part consists of themes as the development of school counselling centres, their aims and the description of the whole counselling system. There is also a description of the work of the particular specialists representing this centre. I search for and examine the pupils' satisfaction or dissatisfaction at school and their problems concerning school and family environment in the empiric part. I focus on the children being able or willing to deal with their problems with these specialists. The question is also if the pupils have sufficient information and knowledge to whom they can turn with their troubles.
Risk behaviour of pupils at SOŠ and SOU Kralupy nad Vltavou

The diploma thesis deals with risk behavior of pupils of SOŠ and SOU Kralupy nad Vltavou. The aim of this work is primarily to find out what risk behavior is actually occurring at SOŠ and SOU Kralupy nad Vltavou, whether pupils themselves are aware of how the school attempts to prevent the occurrence of this undesirable behavior, and what is used to eliminate the risk behavior of pupils. It reveals how risk behaviors are treated in the school's basic documents and how this behavior is being prevented. It deals with the functioning of the school counseling center and the work of class teachers. Methods used for this work are document study, focus group and interviews. Observation is an additional method. Research shows that the most common risk behaviors are truancy, substance abuse, bullying and cyberbullying, aggression in the form of vandalism and vulgarism. Based on the study of school documents, it recommends possible ways of making the work of the school counseling center more effective, primary and secondary prevention at school, class teacher's work, and class lessons. The conclusion of the thesis is to recommend the school how to promote the elimination of pupils' risk behaviors.
