This thesis focuses on the topic of the transition of people with disabilities from the school environment to working life. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part presents key topics related to the transition of people with disabilities from school to the labour market, such as support in education, employment and independent living, transition programmes, employment choices and job opportunities. For the practical part, qualitative research was chosen to explore, using unstructured narrative interviews, the transition between school and employment for people with more severe physical disabilities who already have work experience. Social support from friends was found to play a key role in the job search process. None of the respondents used the transition...
Gemini
Kartal, Emina ; Nový, Vítězslav (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
The topic of the bachelor thesis is inclusive architecture. The aim of the thesis is the design of the dormitory and reconstruction of the Gemini High School in the Lesná housing estate in Brno, together with the reconstruction of the school's surroundings. The high school plans to increase its current capacity and aims for inclusive education, which is reflected in the new design. The current conditions are already inadequate. In the past, the school management was constrained by the available options and adopted a building with a kindergarten layout together with a garden. As a result, the school operates on a limited footprint or in cramped quarters. The aim is to provide quality education for all without distinction. An education that will be combined with a pleasant stay for the students, in the airy spaces in the school or the school garden, or in the new boarding building. The proposal includes a sustainable design approach to ensure that the investor incurs fewer costs associated with operating a building that functions as an educational institution.

Egemová, Olga ; Svěcená, Kateřina (advisor) ; Kulhánek, Adam (referee)
Background: In Czech Republic, the use of addictive substances in the general population is regularly evaluated. In people with spinal cord lesions, the issue of substance abuse is not sufficiently mapped. Difficulty to get feedback can also play a role in this regard. There are many factors for possible risky behavior in people with spinal cord lesions. In Czech Republic, there are several aftercare facilities that comprehensively address clients with spinal cord lesions. In these facilities, obtaining feedback from this specific group of clients would help get better target interventions and set up other specific services for the monitored subpopulation. Objectives: The main goal of the research was to map the issue of dependence on legal and illegal addictive substances in a group of people with spinal cord injuries after injury or illness. A secondary goal was the feedback from the Centre's clients on whether and how they would use addictology counseling. Methods: Data for quantitative research were obtained by voluntary questionnaire survey. Questionnaires were gradually obtained from the centre's clients in person between the three waves of the covid epidemic between 2020 and 2021. The research sample consisted of a total of 106 respondents aged between 18 to 77 years. Anonymous...

Skalická, Adéla ; Hájková, Vanda (advisor) ; Mužáková, Monika (referee)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the quality of the partner relationship of parents who have a child with a physical or combined disability. The goal of the work is to describe the quality of their relationship, what difficulties parents face in everyday life, and what factors help them strengthen the relationship. Quantitative research was used to achieve these goals, namely the questionnaire method with closed, semi-open and open questions. The questionnaire was used to collect data from parents of children with physical or combined disabilities and their partners. The summary of the results indicates that a child with a physical or combined disability can have a significant effect on the partner relationship of the parents. However, it is not possible to say unequivocally whether this influence has a positive or negative effect. This complicated life situation ends some relationships forever, while others, on the contrary, strengthen and create an unbreakable bond between partners. The results show that diverse families with children with disabilities have many specific and unique concerns. However, it turns out that some difficulties are very similar. This bachelor's thesis provides a comprehensive view of the quality of the partner relationship of parents of children with physical or combined...

Objectives: The main aim of the thesis is to investigate whether selected traits in the area of psychology (resilience, hardiness, grit) are related to perceived quality of life and sport engagement of para swimmers. Furthermore, whether we can predict quality of life and sport engagement based on these characteristics. Methods: Thirty-two adult respondents (13 females, 18 males), aged 19 to 59 years (mean age 29.2±8.5 years), participated in a survey. Data were collected using a questionnaire focusing on general information, life satisfaction, grit, resilience, sport commitment and hardiness (Martin et al., 2015), which was translated into czech by Jiskrova (2019). Results: Life satisfaction (LS) is statistically significantly correlated with resilience (r=0.61) and hardiness (r=0.41). Sport engagement (SE) was only statistically significantly correlated with hardiness (r=0.46). Life satisfaction, based on regression analysis, can be best predicted from resilience, which explains LS from about 37 %. SE can only be predicted from hardiness, which can explain SE from about 21 %. Key words: physical disability, para sport, endurance, mental toughness, grit, resilience, hardiness
