Specifics of parenting a child with autism spectrum disorder

The focus of this diploma thesis is on parenting a child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). In the diploma thesis, specific aspects and differences of family functioning are discussed. In the theoretical segment, pervasive developmental disorders are defined historically. They define individual types of autism spectrum disorders with an emphasis on distinctive characteristics of deficient areas of development, and identify specific aspects of family life. It is also aimed at diagnosing autistic children and finding help and support for their parents. Qualitative research is the main focus of the practical segment. It aims to capture and map in detail important moments from the private lives of three families, in order to better understand their subjective experience of parenting a child with an autism spectrum disorder.
Aspects of new challenging behaviour in pupils in a lower secondary education in a primary school in Říčany in time of pandemic of covid-19

The diploma thesis deals with aspects of new challenging behaviour in pupils in a lower secondary education in a primary school in Říčany in time of pandemic of covid-19. The first part of the work includes basic theoretical points and concepts. The most common forms of challenging behavior that can be identified in primary schools are defined here. Furthermore, the most common factors influencing the rise of challenging behavior are listed here. The theoretical part also deals with the issue of psychological stress and the effect of distance learning on students during the covid-19 pandemic. This part of the work is also devoted to the importance of supporting wellbeing in the school environment and explains why it is important to deal with it. The practical part contains the objectives of the research. A mixed research method is chosen to achieve the main research objective. From the main research objective, sub-objectives are set out, from which research questions arise. Issues in Communication of Medical Staff and Persons with Mental Disabilities

This thesis focuses on the issue of intercommunucation between medical personnel and persons with mental disabilities. The aim is to explore various communication approaches and attitudes of medical personnel towards mentally disabled patients, especially during medical examinations, via qualitative research. The literary overview section describes theoretical starting points with emphasis on mentally disabled persons' communication, as well as levels of professionality in relationships towards them. The empirical section deals with research, conducted in a form of seventeen interviews with six mentally disabled participants, five medical personnel and six social workers, who accompany their clients for medical appointments. The findings were processed by using a method of thematic analysis. It concludes, that despite improvements in approaches and attitudes of medics towards mental patients, discrimination is still prevalent, especially in cases of hospitalization and new registration with doctors. The research also shows, that approximately half of medical personnel patronise their adult patients with mental disabilities and puts them into juvenile role. Comparison of approaches towards people with disability in Francoist Spain and socialist Czechoslovakia

The thesis compares the position of people with disabilities in two non-democratic regimes of the 20th century, namely Francoist Spain and socialist Czechoslovakia. The attitudes of each regime and the state initiatives taken in the field of care for people with disabilities are analysed. The possibilities for the development of the various organisations and their activities are also described. The work also focuses on two areas of the life of a person with disabilities - education and employment. The findings presented are set in the historical context of each country. The method used is the analysis and interpretation of legislation, state documents and academic publications. The comparison presents common features in the field of disability care, such as lack of interest in the issue, efforts to unify disability support organisations and their control. Both states have established segregated education for persons with disabilities. The employment of persons with disabilities depended on the form of economic establishment. This diploma thesis deals with father of a child with mental disability. Thesis is divided in the theoretical and the experimental part. The theoretical part contains information about the role of fathers and men in families with a child with mental disabilities. Experimental part presents research using internet questionnaire focused on the role of father a child with mental disabilities. The second part of the research were related phenomenological interviews with fathers of children with intellectual disabilities or autism. The aim of the research is to describe and capture the experiences of these men.

Title of bachelor work: The specifics of adolescence of the children with Down syndrome from their parents view Abstract The bachelor thesis called The specifics of adolescence of the children with Down syndrome from their parents view deals with the term Down syndrome, its origin and forms. The thesis concentrates in the behavior of the teen age children with Down syndrome. The thesis also touch the problem of sexual abuse of the mentally handicapped children, e.g. also children with the Down syndrome and the problem of the becoming independent of these children. The practical demonstrations show the worries of mothers of the children with Down syndrome and how the worries grow up with children age.
