Škanderová, Taťána ; Machovcová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Smetáčková, Irena (referee)
This master thesis investigates how student identity of college students whose parents do not have university degree is constructed and further developed. The aim is to find out what meanings, factors, resources, actors and identities enter and influence the process of building and developing their student identity. It focuses on turning points, which are accompanied by a change in their own identity and uncertainty in their own social and cultural world. The theoretical part of the work is focused on defining and describing the specific characteristics of college students with parents without a college degree, the problem of a deficit perspective on them and the specifics of first-generation students in more prestigious fields of study. The following sections deal with social and educational inequalities from a historical point of view in the Czech context and from the point of view of critical social psychology. The conclusion is devoted to identity, which is viewed from three theoretical perspectives, namely from the perspective of social identity theory, from the perspective of social constructivism, and from the sociocultural developmental perspective on identity changes. Specifics of Ballet Environment as Potentially Risk Factors for the Development of Eating Disorders: Qualitative Analysis
Šimčáková, Markéta ; Vanek, Marián (advisor) ; Taušová, Jitka (referee)
Ballet is a risk environment for the development of eating disorders. At the same time there are specific risk factors that occur only in this environment. For these factors, a statistically significant relationship with risky eating behaviour has been proven. For the vast majority of ballet dancers, these factors induce dissatisfaction with the body. The aim of this study was to expand knowledge about these factors, with an emphasis on how they may affect ballet dancers and how ballet dancers may perceive, experience and respond to these factors. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews and two questionnaires and processed by thematic analysis method. The result is a description and interpretation of the 14 factors through the experience of ballet dancers, a hierarchical categorization of specific risk factors according to how they affect ballet dancers and a thematic map integrating the emerging topics at a higher level of abstraction. Based on the data analysis, the parent "superfactor" Ballet Ideal was identified, giving meaning to all other factors. Ballet dancers who do not fulfill the Ballet Ideal may be more vulnerable and prone to developing eating disorders. The impact of the risk factor on ballet dancers who do fulfill this ideal may be greatly diminished or eliminated....
Media Representation of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in the Czech Republic from the Perspective af Survivors and Non-participants
Machatová, Karolína ; Vochocová, Lenka (advisor) ; Reifová, Irena (referee)
This thesis explores how the Czech mainstream news media portrays sexual and gender-based violence from the perspective of people with different experiences and attitudes towards it. This includes survivors, relatives of survivors, those who are sensitive to the topic, and those who are skeptical or have a negative view towards the portrayal of sexual violence as a topic. The theoretical framework for this thesis is gender theory and cultural studies, specifically interpretive communities, which examine how the media influences our perceptions of gender and society. The research is qualitative and uses grounded theory practices, which involves open and axial coding to analyze how people with different experiences and attitudes towards sexual and gender-based violence perceive the way Czech media portrays the topic. This includes evaluating the portrayal, the emotions it evokes, and suggesting possible changes. Using the vignette technique, specific examples of media content on the topic of sexual violence are analyzed, and specific changes and adjustments are suggested. Through coding and the vignette technique, four main problematic phenomena related to czech media portrayals of sexual violence were identified. These include inappropriate portrayals of victims and perpetrators, inadequate use of...

Caha, Vilém ; Císař, Ondřej (advisor) ; Němcová, Lucie (referee)
The subject of this thesis is a qualitative sociological study that examines the contemporary Prague alternative club and rave scene as a subculture. The aim of the study is to find out how members of the subculture perceive and reflect on their subcultural identity. The theoretical part discusses several theoretical concepts related to this topic. The process by which nine informants were recruited and their interviews used as the primary source of data is described in the methodology chapter. Data for the research was collected using qualitative methods, i.e. semi-structured interviews, which were then analysed using open coding. The results suggest that several aspects influence the subcultural identity of techies - engagement in the scene and sharing of ideology are the main ones. The study could contribute to a deeper understanding of the contemporary Prague alternative techno scene and how its members shape their subcultural identity.

Matoušková, Adéla ; Vacek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Zachová, Kateřina (referee)
Background: Psychedelics are substances that affect the nervous system and have the ability to influence thinking, perception and feelings of the user. In the Czech Republic, psilocybe mushrooms are the second most used psychedelic. 5.7% of the population over the age of 15 used them at least once in their lifetime, and over 70,000 people in the last 12 months. In the past, psychedelics were associated with the phenomenon of psychedelic art, in which artists were inspired in their works by psychedelic experiences they achieved under the influence of hallucinogenic substances, which entails significant risks. Patterns of magic mushroom use among artistic college students have not yet been adequately described. Objectives: The aim of the work is to find out the patterns of use of psychedelic mushrooms among university students with an artistic focus, to find out what effect the use has on their artistic creation and what is the motivation for using it. In this work, I will focus on the prevalence and amount of hallucinogenic mushrooms used by students and try to evaluate whether there is a connection between the pattern of using psilocybin mushrooms and...
