Work-life balance

Thesis focuses the topic of work-life balance in the context of psychology connecting the knowledge and practices of the applied field of work and organizational psychology. The theoretical part is devoted to defining work-life balance while considering the variability of psychological aspects considering the topic. It also characterizes selected areas of work-life balance, summarizes individual personality, developmental and social determinants that were in relation to the work-life balance research proved. Subsequently, attention is moved to the particular tools and strategies which can be useful in achieving or sustaining work-life balance, considering two basic levels. On the one hand, considering individual personal level in achieving balance of individual and on the other hand, the strategies and tools provided by organization leading to the work-life balance. The second part presents a proposal for a research project that aims is to track the relationship between the amount of time devoted to selected areas in the life of an individual, quality of spending time in terms of overall satisfaction and perceived fullness and desire or openness to change in individual's life in selected areas in the perceived work-life balance. Parental Leave as a Tool of Work-life Balance in the Czech Republic and Sweden

The purpose of this thesis is to examine the legislation of parental leave in the Czech Republic and in Sweden in particular with respect to the possibilities of work-life balance, to evaluate an actual use of the system, its impacts on the individual labour markets and gender equality, to subsequently compare these two models and to propose amendments of legislation. The topic was chosen due to its significant impact on a vast amount of people and due to its currency with respect to a progressive change of perception of single parent's roles. The thesis is divided into five chapters following the main aim of the thesis, a comparison of several legislations. The first Chapter shortly describes the main terminology which has been used within the thesis and which is the main subject matter of the paper. Maternity, parental and paternity leave are defined mainly with respect to the purposes of the individual matters. The second Chapter deals with the legislation of the European Union. The relation of the Czech and European law in this field in general is analysed at first. Work-Life Balance of Employees

Diploma thesis is deal with the topic of work-life balance in the chosen company. The thesis is divided into three parts – theorethical, analytical and final part. The theorethical part explains atractivity and importance of this topic and describes individual approaches allowing work-life balance and concurrently indicate possible problems of different approaches from the perspective of the employer and the employees. The analytical part examines and evaluate the currect status of chosen company. In the final part are suggested measures based on theoretical knowledge and findings which should lead to a better balance between work and personal lives of employees in a chosen company.

Woman between Family and Work and the Welfare State

Thesis "Women between Family and Work and the Welfare State" examines the challenges of balancing work and family roles of men and women, specifically in relation to institutional conditions of the Welfare State in the Czech Republic. The author analyzes and identifies external factors influencing family life and work balance. Furthermore, the author compares situation in the Czech Republic with selected countries of the European Union. The most important theoretical backgrounds of the thesis are the Welfare State theory, the family theory and the gender inequality theory. The main methods applied in the thesis are secondary data analysis and comparative analysis. The MA is divided in eight chapters. Key part of the thesis is analytical part, which consists of four chapters. First of them analyzes the external and internal factors that influence the behavior of men and women, namely the cultural value framework, structural labor market conditions and preferences of men, women and employers. The second one examines the institutional limitations and opportunities created by the Czech Welfare State. Options of harmonization of work and family in terms of setting the pillars of flexicurity in the Czech Republic

Bachelor thesis "Možnosti harmonizace práce a rodiny z hlediska nastavení pilířů flexicurity v ČR" deals with situation regarding the setting of two of three pillars of flexicurity (numerical flexibility and jobs protection, employment protection supporting functional flexibility) and possibilities of harmonization of work and family in the Czech Republic. The goal is to evaluate which actions of flexicurity there are in our country and what effect they have on the situation regarding the reconciliation of work and family roles and what could be improved in this issue. Within the evaluation of the current situation was described and evaluated the system setting of childcare, which contributes by a large degree to opportunities for females on labour market and thus also to harmonize work and family. The issue has been consulted from a gender perspective. Also the system of active employment policy and lifelong learning, which contributes to functional flexibility, was described and evaluated. The second part is created by the results of interviews analysis, which were performed by the author with experts from organizations such as MPSV, Hospodářská komora, ČMKOS or Gender Studies. Children's group as a tool for achieving work-life balance

The thesis discusses the problems of reconciling work and family life, focusing on the provision of services in a children's group under Act no. 247/2014 Coll. The theoretical part defines basic concepts relevant to work-life balance and briefly summarizes the options of preschool children care in the Czech Republic. The first part also elaborates the legal formalities of so called children's group. The practical part aims to assess the current situation of a specific children's group, reveals its strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats and on their basis formulates recommendations for its future successful operation. When processing this paper, literature review, description, questionnaire, depth interview and a final analysis and synthesis of knowledge utilized for formulating future proposals are used.
The Proposal of Work-Life Balance in Selected Company

The diploma thesis focuses on the issue of work-life harmonization in a selected company engaged in water sports. It specifies the topicality of its implementation to business practice, tools of work-life balance, possibilities and barriers from the perspective of employers and employees. The practical part analyses the current state of the selected company through a questionnaire survey and a semi-structured interview. On the basis of the theoretical knowledge and the obtained results, optimal measures for work-life balance are proposed, which are supplemented by a financial evaluation.
