Fraud in clinical trials in terms of ethics and law
Jedličková, Anetta ; Haškovcová, Helena (advisor) ; Prudký, Libor (referee) ; Strnadová, Věra (referee)
The subject of my dissertation is fraud in clinical trials in terms of ethics and law. The aim of my research was to analyze the frequency of fraud in clinical trials of a given sample of data collected, identify the main fraudsters and to analyze the causes that led participants in clinical trials to commit fraud. In the theoretical part of my dissertation I defined the concepts of clinical trials, deception, ethical issues and the relevant legal framework. The practical part contains the results of the data analysis of the incidence and causes of fraud, the main actors of fraud and conception of recommendations, which appears to be essential for the prevention of fraud in clinical trials. The data analysis and participant observation show that during 107 GCP (Good Glinical Practice) audits conducted during the period of 2008-2013 in 22 countries, 14 revelations of fraud in clinical trials were identified, which represents 13.1 %. Most often fraud was committed by investigators, a total of 47.6 % of all observed groups of cheating clinical trial participants. The main causes that led investigators to commit fraud represent a lack of eligible patients, financial gain and personality traits. Based on the results obtained during my research I highlighted in the practical part of my dissertation the ethical...

AID TO THE DISTANT Ethics in Foreign Aid Květoslava Princová Abstract Humanitarian aid and development assistance (foreign aid) are generally considered to be positive actions which help to save people affected by disaster, striving or suffering by diseases. It is done by satisfying basic needs with the help of food, water, sanitation, health care, or in long-term perspective by education, reconstruction of houses, prevention, protection and development projects. Foreign aid happens in very specific environment: after disasters, in conflict situations, in the midst of epidemics, extreme poverty, drought and floods. It is mainly provided by people who come from quite different environment and culture, from "the wealthy world". The humanitarian and development workers are just links in the "aid chain" which is quite long and starts with big donors and public subscribers, as well as governments. Due to the cultural differences, distance and many "chain links" the aid causes not always good but sometimes it does not work or does even harm to the intended recipients. The goal of this work was to identify possible risks of damages, which threatens the help to recipients. Speaking about damages, threats and risks it is necessary to come out from that cultural and value context, which is expressed in international...

Grubrová, Jana ; Pinc, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Prudký, Libor (referee) ; Haškovcová, Helena (referee)
The submitted thesis deals with ethical aspects of the life of people with severe visual impairment. Since recently, likewise e.g. in medicine, the partner model of cooperation between the social services provider and the receiver is also preferred in the blind and visually impaired rehabilitation, the present state of manners in society was necessarily considered within the ethical deliberation, e.g. the historical development of the interest in people with severe visual impairment, traditional approaches to them, persisting prejudices, the moral field, which in practice project into attitudes and behaviour determining value hierarchy, as well as into the legal field, i.e. into sources and the situation of social legislation relevant for visually impaired people's lives. The theoretical part informs the reader about the fundamental terminology used in special pedagogy, social work and other related branches. Further, it focuses on the theoretical ethical resources applied to the field of the blind and visually impaired rehabilitation, the help of the welfare state embodied in the legislation, and it takes into account the spiritual dimension of the human personality and its significance for the visual impairment acceptance. The practical part contains the quantitative and qualitative research...
