Teacher's experiences with sex education

The right to sex education is part of the right to information and education and thus represents a part of human rights. Sexuality concerns everyone and is an important part of human life since birth. Yet sex education is not a priority in schools. The aim of this study was to investigate the experiences of teachers, who also act as prevention methodologists, in the field of sex education and to find out what form sex education takes in selected primary schools. Seven respondents from primary schools in rural areas of the central part of Czech republic participated in the research. Semi-structured interviews were used to collect data, which was then analyzed using thematic analysis. The data shows that the sex education provided is inconsistent and unstructured. Teachers are often unaware of current approaches to sex education based on recent research, therefore students are not provided with appropriate information. Very often, sex education did not meet the principles of effective primary prevention, focusing either only on the cognitive component of attitude change or the affective component of fear, or did not present enough of the positive aspects of sexuality to students. Reflection on the concept of reproductive health education in primary education.

The research yielded in the field fails to explain how reproductive health education has been implemented in primary schools during the 1990s, and how it fulfilled the initial expectations with which it was introduced, from the perspective of its participants. The objective of the presented dissertation is to propose further potential steps towards the advancement of this domain and to identify topics suitable for further research in the field of reproductive health education on the basis of a survey of available sources, current research and presented research. The project examines the issue through the perspective of respondents from two countries: the Czech Republic and Spain. These two European nations implemented reproductive health education during the same period, yet with distinct approaches. Spain, with its strong Catholic tradition, contrasts with the Czech Republic, which registers a relatively low proportion of individuals with declared religious affiliation, according to statistical data from the Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ) in 2021. Minors' Experience Analysis of Romanticized or Sexualized Contact with an Educator

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of romanticized and sexualized contact of minor students and their adult educators which is being dominantly silenced in the Czech Republic. The thesis consists of a theoretical part and an empirical part. Theoretical part of the thesis presents psychological aspects of the developmental period of adolescence and of the pedagogical profession, discusses the issue of crossing professional boundaries by an educator and finally defines a specific subtype of educator sexual misconduct: educator sexual abuse of minor students in the form of a mutual sexualized type of a contact. The focus of the empirical part of the thesis is a research project framed by constructivist ontology, feminist epistemology and phenomenological metodology. The research project is an interpretative phenomenological analysis of the experience of five adult women who experienced romanticized or sexualized contact with their educator during adolescence. The purpose of the research was to gain an in-depth understanding of its participants' experiences both from their former adolescent perspective and their contemporary adult perspective and to capture any possible change of their mind during the given period concerning their own experiences. Pupil's vulgarity against teachers in 6th and 9th grade

Vulgarity can be understood as a bio-psycho-social phenomenon, which pervades our everyday life on every single step literally. Nevertheless, this topic is still relatively insufficiently explored. This thesis is aimed on specific example of vulgarity - namely male and female pupils' vulgarity against teachers and not only on verbal vulgarity (curse words). It will be about broader conception containing even non-verbal and paraverbal phenomenons. This thesis explores pupils' vulgarity against teachers through observation and interviews. It brings demarcation of what is manifestation of pupils' vulgarity against teachers, findings that boys compared with girls and older pupils compared to younger ones are more vulgar against teachers. Thesis further presents functions and forms of pupils' vulgarity against teachers, touching (non)reactions of teachers on pupils' vulgarity addressed to them and teachers view on the topic of pupils' vulgarity against teachers and even their view on vulgarity at school in general. Qualification of dance education instructors of children from years 3 to 6 in elementary art schools and youth centers

This bachelor thesis looks at the skills and education of teachers of dance, teachers of leisure activities, tutors, and additional staff, who teach dance education in elementary art schools and youth centers. In the theoretic section the thesis processes theoretical and practical ideologies regarding free time, leisure and recreational activities, children of preschool age, and their relationship to exercise. Additionally the thesis discusses the educational backgrounds and qualifications of dance instructors and looks at how they lead dance classes in both elementary art schools and youth centers. In the practical section the thesis discovers whether the theoretical assumptions of the dance education management and its application match. Moreover, it compares the differences between two different institutions and measures factors of parental and directorial satisfaction of the dance workshops. This practical secrion examines the directoral requirements for the techers' abilities, their real education and qualification, and the parents' satisfaction with the institutions. Gender differences in bullying and its construction from teacher's perspective

This diploma thesis focuses on constructing the school bullying, and gender differences teachers could find in the phenomenon. The critical approach to the contemporary prevailing paradigm that conceives bullying through the individualistic prism is the main theoretical frame of the thesis. The empirical part of the thesis presents the research realized by semi-structured interviews that offers a more profound understanding of how ten teachers (five women and five men) from secondary schools construct this social phenomenon and what gender differences they find in it. Collective efficacy in teachers: Pilot study in the context of Czech elementary and secondary schools

This thesis deals with domain of teacher collective efficacy, that is related to the self-efficacy concept, both are part of the social cognitive theory from Albert Bandura. The theoretical part first summarizes basic theoretical background of self-efficacy. Next part deals with topic of teacher self-efficacy that played important role in forming of the concept of teacher collective efficacy and its measurements. Then it summarizes information and results of research relevant to the new emergent concept of teacher collective efficacy. The empirical part describes the qualitative research that was carried out. Its goals were to map the concept of teacher collective efficacy among teachers in primary and secondary schools and how they reflect on this concept and then to suggest new possible model and possible directions for creating a teacher collective efficacy scale for Czech teachers. Research method were half- structured interviews with 8 teachers and the use of thematic analysis. It was found out that interview contained several common themes. After comparing it with theoretical conception of collective efficacy, modified model of teacher collective efficacy was suggested with 4 main themes: support, collective team, pupils and parents.
