Řehlovice 1880-1970

This thesis is looking into the history of the village Řehlovice in the Northbohemian region in years 1880 - 1970. This village was located till the end of the Second World War deep in the mostly by Germans inhabited territory named Sudetenland. The thesis wants in the time span study the changes of the local social conditions and the constitution of the inhabitants and other interesting themes whose are related to the situation before and after the Second World War which was a big turning point. In this time span changes the peaceful coexistence of two nations under the influence of the Nazi-ideology. This is the culmination point of the thesis, because it gains information from in German written and from in Czech written and till today unpublished eleven local chronics. It shows data and stories from small locality which could help to map unresearched places of history. The result of the thesis is a close look on these data and their evaluation. Parts of the thesis are illustrative graphs and illustrations taken from unpublished sources. They were given from the Czechs that staid but also from the deported Germans. Years after 1948 are briefly adapted for the comparison. Information about local education, parish and the gathering of deported Germans are situated in separated chapters.
Signal - the propaganda of Wehrmacht in occupied Europe and the Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia 1940-1945

Presented bachelor thesis is an analysis of one of the important printed nazi-propaganda matter from the era of World War II - the Signal magazine. This thesis aims to analyse mostly the period of time between April 1940 and April 1945, when the editorial office of the magazine was in service. According to the distribution in the whole Europe and the fact, that the magazine was produced until the very end of the war, the author wants to make a comparison of the magazines content, which should not only reside in the research of the text content, which was changing strongly during the war, but also in analysing the different acceptance and character in occupied and neutral countries. The interest will be focused on the picture of war presented to the civilian population in particular European countries. Of countries, where the Signal magazine was distributed to, is a special accent given to the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. The thesis are concerned with the project Erweiterte Kinderlandverschickung at the area of Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia in term of the organisation, the everyday life and the educational strategy of National Socialism. The authoress is interested in war experience of the children in the KLV camps and the post-war comemoration of KLV as well.
Change in the Czech Media Reflection of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki Atomic Bombing Within Years 1945 - 2010

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to characterize how the media reflection of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings, their circumstances and consequences, changed within years 1945-2010 in the Czechoslovak and Czech media. While assessing the scale of the change, the political context is taken in mind. The work deals with accuracy, timeliness and potential bias of articles from the daily newspapers Rudé právo, Svobodné slovo and Lidová demokracie; later replacing these with Právo, Mladá fronta Dnes and Lidové noviny. It assesses relevant articles published in the chosen dailies in the period between 22nd July and 30th August 1945 (i.e. two weeks before and three weeks after the first attack to provide the necessary context) and within 1st to 14th August of each tenth anniversary, i.e. in years 1955, 1965, 1975, 1985, 1995, 2005 and to be most current, also in 2010. The thesis includes the list of all analysed articles. In the analysis attention was also given to the increase or decline in number of the news reports. To enable the comparison of the actual events with their media image, a historical chapter precedes the analysis as such. Third republic in Podebrady

The proposed diploma thesis "The Third Republic in Podebrady" focuses on town Podebrady during years 1945-1948. The work provides the reader with a comprehensive overview of events at the end of the WWII. It also describes the period of liberation and the arrival of Red Army and Allied troops. Furthermore, the thesis investigates various events, that took place in Podebrady in the time of so-called Third Republic. The establishment of Municipal and District National Comitte is explored as well as their activities. Besides that, the work deals with actions of the National Security Corps (SNB) and with the development in schools and in industry in Podebrady, especially with the process of nationalization in glass and spa industries.
