Gender aspects of tabacism by 9th grade elementary school pupils in the area of Most

This thesis is aimed at tabacism problems encountered by 9th grade elementary school pupils in the area of Most (Czech Republic). Comparison of gender aspect is accented. The primary target was to figure out the age of first experience with tobacco smoking and to investigate the subjective reasons leading to this act. The other domain of investigation was the attitude of adolescents to tobacco attractiveness and their tolerance to smoking of their future life partners. The thesis also compares my investigation results to studies related to the influence of smoking parents on their children's early experience with tobacco, and related to the manner in which are the elementary school children informed about tabacism issues. Some results of investigation are compared with existing research in the comments. The following facts were discovered - Adolescent girls smoke more than boys, and smoking parents have substantial influence on their children. The majority of children with smoking parents has more experience with tabacism than the children of non-smokers. The primary prevention in schools is performed as part of health education lessons, or similar subjects' lessons. This diploma thesis deals with cooperation between family and school at the beginning of school attendance. Position of that subject in Czech education system is clarified in the theoretical part, as well as some educational programs and initiatives focusing on this domain of a teacher's work. The practical part presents action research, which is focused on the reflection of my own work experience. It explores possibilities of specific methods and forms of cooperation of class teacher with parents according to an analysis of effectiveness of cooperation between family and school evaluation tool of "Competent Educators of the 21st Century: ISSA's Definition of Quality Pedagogy". This research confirmed that the parents welcome any offer to closer involment in school education and choose the kind of cooperation that best suits their needs and abilities. Communication and Cooperation with Difficult Parents and Parents with Difficulties

The thesis analyzes the importance of communication and cooperation between family and school. Further explores the degree and forms of effective communication and cooperation with difficult parents and parents with difficulties. It has been confirmed that each member of effective communication and cooperation benefits from it. Communication and cooperation, to be effective, has to prevent problem situations, that means that the teacher should be proactive. It is crucial to be sensitive to the warning signs from parents, teachers and school management and respond to them. It is important to gain the trust of parents and show them that we - teachers, want exactly the same thing as they do and that is welfare of the child. The empirical part analyzes opinions and experiences of primary teachers with communication and cooperation with difficult parents and parents with difficulties. The launch of ČT:D television channel through the eyes of pedagogical staff and the parents of preschool children

In August 2013 a new television channel called ČT:D was launched in the Czech Republic - a public service children's channel. In this thesis I introduce ČT:D and put it in contrast with the commercial channels. The thesis includes a summary of children's television channels which compete with ČT:D during the research period, as well as an overview of public service television channels which broadcast in European countries, focusing on German KiKA and British CBBC and CBeebies. As part of this thesis a research was carried out utilizing in-depth interviews to examine preschool children's parents' opinions on the new broadcast. Especially interesting and valuable are the interviews with a preschool teacher and a special needs educator, who looks after disabled children on a daily basis. The research was conducted in three stages and thus records the parents' expectations, their first impressions and evalution of the specific shows, as well as of the channel overall. Coping with Stress in Parents of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

in English: This diploma thesis is focused on parents coping with the burden of having children with autism spectrum disorder. It's goal is to analyze parent's strategy to cope with such burden in relation to taking care of a child with autistic spectrum disorder. Thesis is constructed as an emprical qualitativeresearch which also involves quantitative data. Data were acquired via half - structured interviews with parents of children with autism spectrum disorder.Furthermore, a questionnaire SVF 78 "Strategy of stress management" was used and filled out by the parents. The data were subsequently qualitatively analyzed and interpreted using content analysis. Finally, a comparison to specialized literature was performed. The text of the thesis itself is composed of three parts. First part includes theoretical solutions that are based on both Czech and foreign literature concerned with autism theory and coping with stress of parents bringing up an autistic child. Second part is focusing on the methodology and data analysis procedure. Generational shift in women's attitudes towards the upbringing of their children in the early 21st century

This thesis deals with the generational shift in women's attitudes towards the upbringing of their own children in the early 21st century. The aim of this thesis is to determine how today's generation of mothers reflects the upbringing of their parents, reflection of their own experience with upbringing and whether that leads to some inter- generational shift or change within the approach itself. Possible causes and influences of shifts and changes are discussed. To achieve this goal a qualitative analysis of semi-structured interviews with women - mothers was conducted. The research shows that in fact shifts in these approaches actually occur and that the main criterion is a reflection of one's own childhood in particular, reflection of one's parents and reflection of the current relationship with one's parents.
Horrible histories - education show of television channel ČT:D

The objective of this Bachelor's thesis is to primarily establish whether the Horrible Histories series is suitable for children aged 8+ as recommended by the authors. Furthermore, I focus on the influence and impact that the series may have on child viewers; I am interested in the educational benefit of the series and I reflect on the position of the Horrible Histories as an entertaining educational programme. In the theoretical section of my thesis I focus on the characteristics of ČT :D, the Czech Television channel designed for children as well as on the book and film series called Horrible Histories. I also mention the theme of the effect of television on child viewers. Main emphasis is put on the empirical part of my thesis. 50 children aged 8-12 years were enrolled in the survey. I have also collected opinions of teachers and parents of the children of the age under scrutiny, which should confirm or negate the results of my research. The results show that the programme is suitable for the minimum age of 10 years. In order to comprehend the context and get the maximum benefit from the programme, the ideal age is 12 years. Television as a factor of socialisation for early adolescents

This dissertation analyzes the trending habits of children as mass-media users. The goal of this dissertation is to show how children use massmedia, what does television mean to them and who are their favourite celebrities. The empirical segment is based on analysis of data taken from questionnaires created purposely for quantitative research. These questionnaires were given to students in the 6th grades of elementary schools and 1st grades of 8-year secondary grammar schools, both in Prague in the Czech Republic. At the beginning, there is a general theoretical part - an overview of mass-communication and its influence on the socialisation of children and a series of advantages and disadvantages of the impact of mass-communication on children and also characteristics of the age group of my respondents. The following text is divided in three parts that relate to three parts of the questionnaire. The various forms of alternative institutional child care in the Czech Republic

The bachelor thesis focusses on psychological issue of institutional care in the first part. The beginning devotes to historical development of alternative care of children up to present. The thesis focusses on issue of taking a child from the primary family and placing him or her to the institutional care. It devotes the topic of risk parents and children. A big part of the thesis relates to mental deprivation, its definition, reactions' typology, diagnostic and psychotherapy. In the next part, there are described the psychological development's specialities of mentally deprived children, then a child's return to the primary family, a child's transition to alternative care, and the issue of individuals leasing the institutional care after reaching their legal age. Last part deals with specific topics connected with alternative care concerning children with ethnic differences or with special needs. A quantitative study detecting the influence of long-term stay in the institutional care on economical behaviour and attitudes is designed in the second part. Relationship of Family and School at the Beginning of School Attendance

This thesis deals with the relationship between family and school at the beginning of primary school. The theoretical part defines the matters of the cooperation between family and school, it explains terms like family, school and the relationship between them. Next it deals with historical roots of the relationship, conditions for the effective cooperation between family and school and specifications in curriculum together with some educational plans and initiatives. The practical parts presents varied research which is focused on the concrete level of the cooperation between family and school at the beginning of primary school and which is marked by the sign Parents are welcome. The evaluative instrument is Survey for parents, results of it create the base for the interview with the head teacher of the school. Complementary research finds the opinions of the teachers in the matter of the cooperation between family and school. The results of the research proved that the quality of the cooperation between the family and school at this grammar school is at high level.
