Psychological research: Children's suggestibility in forensic interviewing

Master's thesis follows on bachelor thesis Specifics of children's testimony from the point of view of Psychology, expanding chapter about suggestibility. Theory involves phenomenon of suggestibility with emphasis put on Gudjonsson's concept of suggestibility in conjunction with interrogative events. Further chapters delve into scientific findings regarding hazardous factors enhancing or decreasing suggestibility of young witnesses, among others are age, cognitive and psychosocial factors. Thesis also presents the very own types of discovered and described interrogation techniques utilizing elements of suggestion like stereotype induction, leading questions, positive and negative consequences or peer pressure. Paper presents results of empirical research, reproduced experiment which was used as tool mapping suggestibility dangers among Czech children. Focused on pre-school children subjected to heavily suggestive interrogation about event they experienced, through later interviews it was measured to which extent highly suggestive interviews altered perceived reality.
Academic self-efficacy of high school students

Department: Department of Psychology Abstract: This dissertation thesis deals with the concept of academic self-efficacy. The aim of this study was to develop a research tool for assessing high school students` academic self-efficacy, which is not yet available in the Czech environment. The theoretical part is based on a more general level of self-efficacy and further focuses on the specific characteristics of academic self- efficacy and ways of measuring it. The empirical part deals with the development of the questionnaire, with verification of its psychometric characteristics and finding out the relationship with other variables. The research sample consists of 1717 high school students from all regions of the Czech Republic. The research included secondary vocational schools and grammar schools. Students filled in the questionnaire for Czech language and for mathematics. The final research tool is highly reliable and also its validity has been verified. The sibling relationship as a protective factor

The bachelor thesis is in the literature review focused on the characteristic features in sibling's relationships and their changes during lifetime. Specifics of the interaction between siblings during different developmental period, particularly in childhood and subsequently in old age, are described more closely. Emphasis is placed on how this relationship is influenced by events such as quarrels and divorce of parents, foster care, the arrival of a step-siblings and developmental disability of a sibling, and whether in these cases the sibling relationship can serve as a protective factor stimulating healthy development of personality and contributing to life satisfaction. The proposal of the empirical research describes a quantitative research where these questions are specified for the old age of the individual when assessing their life from a lifespan perspective. High School Teachers' Teaching Styles and Possibilities of Their Detection

For the needs of research and measurement in pedagogical-psychological practice, different categories of approaches are constructed as to grasp the teacher's interaction and interaction in the educational context. The presented work approaches the understanding of characteristics of student and high school teacher interaction through the prism of educational styles. The aim of the theoretical part is to define and map various approaches and models of educational styles, to present essential characteristics and their importance in the educational process. After defining approaches, work is being developed to identify educational styles. The design of a quantitative research project is aimed at identifying high school teachers education styles through the QTI (Questionnaire on Teacher Interaction). The mapping project is aimed at investigating the real impact of teachers on the basis of their self-reflection and reflection of students through a questionnaire survey. At the same time, the project aims to submit the obtained data to a comparison of both views of the participants in the educational process. Recomposed family and its influence on child development

(in English): This master thesis focuses on the children of preschool or younger school age living in recomposed family. The purpose of the thesis is to draw attention to this topic and point out risks that it could influence child development as well as describe this topic within its complexity and social contexts. The theoretical part presents the institution of family and its evolution over the last decades. Afterwards presents recomposed family by describing what anticipate this phenomenon, types of recomposed family and relationships between its members. The empirical part applies a qualitative design using semi-structured interviews. The research sample consisted of five experts in child psychology. The research problem could be formulated as a question: Which parts of the phenomenon of recomposed family could have effect on child development? The results of the analyzes of this research describe the topic and its parts remaining important in counselling or terapeutic work with children from these families. These parts are approach towards recomposed family, structure, communication, themes, types of recomposed family, adressing/calling by name, dissimilarities between adult's and child's perspective, sibship and perceived complications. Educational styles of parents of preterm children

BACKGROUND: The most numerous group from children due to perinatal burden is a group of prematurely born children and whose number continues to increase constantly. The children have higher probability of health problems and they are at risk of a complex threat to their successful development. Premature childbirth is a complicated difficult life situation for parents. Strongly reduced mental well- being is often developed at these parents and sometimes even some clinical symptoms (especially depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder). Such parenting (as well as other factors) greatly diminishes the overall interaction and communication with the child (especially their sensitivity and responsiveness) which can also be reflected in the parental style. AIM: The aim of the empirical part was to describe the occurrence of individual educational styles in healthy preterm infants 8-12 years old. METHODS: A Questionnaire of parental styles for children between the ages of 8 and 12 was used for this purpose (Čáp, Čechová & Boschek, 2000). Values and life satisfaction of young adults

This master thesis focuses on values and life satisfaction of young adults. Theoretical part defines the concept of the terms "values", "life satisfaction", and "early adulthood". After that, results of the existing research on the topic of values and life satisfaction are introduced. Quantitative section of the empirical part examines the correlation between the level of importance of 23 values and the level of satisfaction in 23 different areas of life. Data sample consisted of 726 young adults. Quantitative section is followed by a qualitative research to compensate for deficiencies of the quantitative method. Results showed that 19 out of 23 areas have a statistically significant correlation between the level of value's importance and the level of satisfaction in the relevant area of life. One area of life manifested a statistically significant negative correlation. This research initiates a challenge to examine the relationship between the level of values' importance and the level of satisfaction in the respective areas of life more thoroughly. Teacher's social competences and its development posibilities

The bachelor thesis Teacher's social skills and the possibilities of its development are concerned with the topic of social skills in relation to the teacher profession and with the methods by which these skills can be effectively developed. The aim of the thesis is to describe in particular what the definition of social skills is, how they are reflected in the profession of teacher and what the possibilities of their development are. The literary overview section therefore deals with defining the concept of social skills, their specifics in the teacher's profession, and the possible risks of a reduced level of social skills of the teacher. In the research proposal, the thesis deals with the comparison of selected methods of social skills development among secondary school teachers, grammar schools and the second level of elementary schools.
Parenting Styles and Reflection of Parental Authority

The bachelor's work focuses on educational styles of parents in the connection with the parent's authority. The work tries to answer the questions whether the parent's educational styles and age of adolescents influence the perception of legitimacy of the parent's authority. The theoretic part of the bachelor's work summarizes the most important contemporary findings in the fields of educational styles, the application of parent's demands during adolescence and parent's authority. It summarizes important information about what impacts affect the sphere of family education. Which issues can have effect on this sphere. The empirical part comes out of the theoretical part. The goal of the survey proposal is closer research of the discussed sphere. It is a quantitative research which comes out primarily from a quastionnaire survey. Sibling Relationships in Blended Families

This bachelor thesis concerns with sibling relationships in blended families. At the beginning, issue of blended families and the importance of sibling relationships in general are summarize. It also deals briefly with the impact of divorce or death of a parent on sibling relationship, because these two events are prior to blended families. The issues of sibling relations in blended families are analysed mainly in terms of their quality. In this thesis a quantitative questionnaire survey focused on the quality of relations between siblings in blended families, supplemented by semi-structured interviews, is presented.
