Cognitive interview as a supportive method in criminal investigation

The presented diploma thesis presents the method of cognitive interview and describes the possibilities of its use in the preparatory proceedings. The theoretical part defines the interrogation of a witness in the preparatory proceedings and introduces the psychological processes in creating witness statement. In the following chapters, the thesis focuses only on the method of cognitive interview, presents its processs, basic techniqes, but also a comparison with other interrogation methods. The greatest emphasis of the thesis is on the use of cognitive interview with the police and specific groups that participate in the preparatory proceedings. Part of the thesis is also research, which is divided into two parts. Each of them aims to describe the current process of interrogating witnesses and victims in the Czech Republic, to help answer the question of whether it is important to try to implement the method of cognitive interview in the Czech environment. Thanks to the analysis of five interrogation videos and seven interviews with police officers from practice, it was possible to identify some interrogation techniques that are considered effective in the cognitive interview method, but also those that the method recommends not to use. Specifics of Criminal Thinking in Offenders

The thesis deals with the concept of criminal thinking which has attracted attention mainly of foreign forensic psychologists in the last few years, primarily for its proven relation with antisocial behavior and for the possibility of being influenced by changing the antisocial attitudes and because it also seems to be an effective recidivism predictor. The thesis aims to map the specifics of criminal thinking by using PICTS-cz in violent crime offenders and to deepen the understanding of the concept of criminal thinking in our conditions. The goal of the theoretical part is to introduce and broadly outline the area of the entire criminal thinking phenomenon which does not have a uniform definition. For a complex understanding of the issue, attention is paid to definition of the most important concepts related to the topic, its relations with sociodemographic characteristics, characteristics of committed crimes and other psychological phenomena, and also the issue of violent crime is introduced. Research survey is implemented in 138 convicted violent crime offenders. The results present their specific characteristics of criminal thinking which are then compared mainly with foreign samples for a demonstration of their most significant differences. Common parent/children activities of interest

In this thesis, various aspects of contemporary family life, relationships and activities of interest shared by parents and children are presented. The work deals primarily with the effects of these shared activities on the socialisation and educational process of children and the formation of the relationship between parents and children. These processes occur in the context of a specific educational style, which can be a significant factor affecting the means and frequency of realisation of shared extracurricular activities. The research section of this thesis then aims to elucidate the relationship between some aspects of educational style and activities of interest shared by parents and children. Classroom Climate and Teacher Humor

This thesis serves as an overview of information from Czech and international literary sources touching on the topics of teacher humor and classroom climate. Its purpose is to bring understanding of the relationship of classroom climate to the academic, behavioral and emotional sides of learners in classrooms. It describes how classroom climate is created and who participates in its creation. It puts forward teacher as the main creator of classroom climate and it attempts to capture what said climate brings to the teachers themselves. This work also introduces the phenomenon of humor within a psychological framework. The description of teacher humor is based on available, predominantly international, literature. The focus is on the advantages and shortcomings of using humor for teachers themselves, as well as for their learners. The research proposal endeavors to understand the relationship between classroom climate and teacher humor. Its aim is also to chart classroom climate and name the types of humor used by teachers in their classrooms. The situations within a romantic relationship and its stability

This bachelor thesis is divided into a theoretical part and a proposal of a research project. The first part of the thesis deals with the definition of concepts, the form of a healthy and functional relationship and the development of a romantic relationship. Above all, the thesis focuses the issue of situations within the romantic relationship and its stability. The work describes internal interactions in which the couple or children cooperate, not a third person. Correct solution of it contributes to the stability of the relationship. Everyone has several roles in their relationships. And everyone must be able to change them in order to adapt. The key foundations of the theory are especially the ideas of Stanislav Kratochvíl. The second part of the thesis contains a proposal for a research project. The data in it are analyzed by a qualitative research design that wants to know the situation within the romantic relationship and focuses more deeply on those that lead to stability. Relationship between attachment,self-esteem and self-efficacy in adolescents

This work aimed to map the attachment to parents and friends and to find out how this variable is related to self-esteem and self-efficacy in adolescence. Another aim of the work was to verify whether the relationship between the dimensions of attachment and self-evaluation mediates one's own effectiveness. The research population consisted of 206 adolescents aged 15-17. The data was obtained by completing questionnaires. Attachment in the dimensions of "anxiety" and "avoidance" was determined by the Experience in CloseRelationships - Relationship Structures Questionnaire (ECR-RS), the Rosenberg self-assessment scale was used to measure self-esteem and the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSE) method to measure self-efficacy. It was found that almost all dimensions of attachment to mother, father and friend have a significant relationship with self-esteem and self-efficacy. Only in the case of avoidance to a friend, an indirect connection was proven. Furthermore, it was shown that boys' self-esteem and self-efficacy are not related to an attachment to a friend. In boys and girls, a strong influence of the relationship with the mother on the level of self-esteem and of self-efficacy was confirmed. Relationships between members of stepfamilies and the well-being of the child

Blended families are an increasingly common type of family cohabitation. However, very little is known about the specifics of relationships between individual members of these families and how these relationships affect the personal well-being of the child in these families. The literature review section summarizes the findings of foreign research dealing with the specifics of relationships between individual members of blended families and how these relationships affect children's well-being in these families. The empirical part describes the research investigation and its results. The aim of the research was to find out what parenting styles are used by parents and stepparents in blended families, to compare relationships between different types of siblings and to find out how these relationships and parenting styles are related to children's well-being in these families and family belonging. Common activities of parents and children in educational context

The main goal of this disertation is to update knowledge about common activities of parents and adolescents in the context of family education (Gillern, 2009), which could help current counseling practices and expansion of knowledge about educational interactions in the family. The purpose of this study is to contribute to the knowledge of the effects of common realized interests of parents and adolescents, and to find out under what conditions and circumstances they occur. The theoretical part of this thesis consists of three chapters. First chapter deals with important adults during adolescence, the second chapter focuses on family upbringing while the third chapter deals with common activities during free time. The research part presents the results of quantitative research, supplemented by semi- structured interviews with several students. Adolescents were asked what activities they do in their free time, with whom they perform them, and how the actual implementation differs from their wishes. Current parenting styles according to the nine-field model were also examined. At the end of the work, the results of the research part are discussed and the findings of the research survey are summarized.
