Towards the systematic support of the early literacy development in preschool age

This study evaluates the benefits of short-term, relatively intensively implemented training programme aimed at enhancing the development of pre-reading skills (specifically phoneme awareness and letter knowledge) in the last year of kindergarten. The evaluation of the benefits is carried out in comparison with the situation without the implementation of the work methodology and with the use of available work content with content aimed at the development of graphomotor skills with commented instruction. Sixty-nine children from four kindergartens were randomly assigned to three groups: pre-reading intervention group (resp. phoneme awareness and letter knowledge intervention), graphomotor skills intervention group and no- training group. Intervention programs were implemented as a 10-week training programmes in the frequency of 3 training lessons per week. The results provide an evaluation of the variability pre-literacy pre-reading performance in regular kindergarten classes and the benefits of the evaluated training program in terms of mobilizing pre-literacy pre-reading skills before starting school. The practical part is focused on results processing of anthropometric measurements and motorial tests regard to the various movement mode.

The first part of the work is devoted to preschool age children, their ontogenetic development and physiological development of vision. Other chapters describe the functional visual disorders including strabism and amblyopia. The main part is devoted to remedies of the binocular vision defects and furthermore to a special pleoptical- orthoptic exercises. This part also functions as a source of activities and ideas for working with children either at home or at school environment. Development and transformation of Czech kindergartens between 1990 and 2012

The thesis on "Development and transformation of Czech kindergartens between 1990 and 2012" maps and analyzes proposals for change and the actual changes that have taken place over 22 years in pre-school education. Czech kindergarten passed in the period changes in several areas. In legislation were an important milestone edition of the Education Act (2004) and the framework education programme for pre-school education (2004). After 1990 there was a change of philosophy of viewing a child and its development - a personality-oriented model of pre-school education began to be applied. Transformed were the objectives for pre-school education and training and also the curriculum changed. The questionnaire survey in the practical part of this thesis investigates the view of kindergarten teachers to changes in pre-school practice in the period. The respondents perceive the change, especially in larger freedom in the planning and implementation of educational activities and the emphasis on child development. Teachers endorse the better equipped schools and a wide range of training possibilities for teachers. Conversely, teachers negatively value high class occupancy and financial evaluation of teachers.
Development of cooperation between family and nursery school

This thesis deals with the forms of cooperation between parents and nursery school. The theoretical part focuses on family and school as educational institutions, their definition, historical development and the related current trends in cooperation between them. Stimulation of Graphomotoric Development of Pre-School Children

The thesis is focused on the description, monitoring and stimulation graphomotorics development of preschool children. It is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the development of the individual in preschoolers, hygiene and work habits which are important for graphomotorical development. It also discusses the development of graphomotorics and drawings. It also includes a description of graphomotor difficulties and subsequently programs that help stimulate graphomotorics development. The practical part consists of a qualitative research whose objective is to monitor a description of the effect graphomotoric stimulation in children attending a particular graphomotorical course. There is monitored the status and then move of seven children in selected areas before the course and after the course in the form of published case studies.
Speech therapy intervention in Czech-English kindergartens

The bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of speech therapy intervention in Czech- English kindergartens. The main goal of the bachelor thesis is to formulate some speech therapy recommendations for pedagogical practice in bilingual kindergartens. The work deals with speech therapy intervention in Czech-English kindergartens in the broader theoretical context of the development of speech of a preschool child and its characteristics, the issue of impaired communication skills that occurs in preschool children, and of course bilingualism and speech development of a bilingual child. The research and practical part of the work is based on a qualitative research method using a semi-structured interview with the principals of two Czech-English kindergartens, who provided relevant information on how speech therapy intervention and language teaching takes place in their kindergartens. The bachelor thesis results in formulation of seven speech therapy recommendations for pedagogical practice in bilingual kindergartens.
Child with risk for learning disabilities

This diploma thesis deals with the possibilities of prediction of specific learning disabilities among children of preschool age. The thesis is divided into two consequent parts a theoretical part and a practical part. In the theoretical part I focus mainly on the etiology and the diagnosis of specific learning disabilities. The thesis focuses mainly on given examples of a few predictive batteries from Czech and even foreign authors. The practical part contains results of a research survey where are the data I collected through predictive battery of British authors: Nicolson and Fawcett: The Dyslexia Early Screening Test. The main objective of the diploma thesis was to find out the possibility of using this test by pedagogical workers at pre-schools in order to avoid specific learning disabilities. For the research, the quantitative research method was used.
The graphomotory and drawing of preschool age children with Developmental Language Disorder

This bachelor thesis is focused on the area of graphomotorics and drawing with pre-school children diagnosed with developmental dysphasia. The thesis aims to the level of these areas at several children with this diagnose. The author inquires whether the drawing and graphomotoric skills at the research sample are impacted by the developmental dysphasia. Next, the thesis deals with possible changes of these levels during the inquiry.
