The bachelor thesis Vlastní literární tvorba s komentářem (Author's Literary Work with a Commentary) consists of three main parts. First, the author presents her own fairytale named Zvědavé koťátko (Nosy Kitten) in prose as well as a poetry. The fairytale is aimed at preschool children, first written as prose, later made into a poem. The second part consists of author's commentary, concerning the creation process of the piece of work. The author informs about the characters of the story, goals of the text, as well as the final touches to the piece of work. There are three assessments of the work, in the third part of the thesis. There is a literary expert opinion, an opinion of a preschool teacher (a person who knows well the target age-group), and a layman opinion. The final part of the thesis is a reflection on the three opinions mentioned above.

Interpretation of Tadeáš Biron's poetry selection Neviditelné slunce

The thesis deals with a collection of poems named Neviditelné slunce (The Invisible Sun) by a Czech poet Tadeáš Biron (which is a pen name of František Kouřil). The author attempts to identify the fundamental features of Biron's poetry. She covers the recurrent motifs, themes and intertextual references present in Biron's work. The autobiographical elements, manifested in the poems, are also taken into account, on the basis of the author's correspondence with his friend J. Červenka. The thesis tries to provide a more profound understanding of Tadeáš Biron's perception of poetry and his use of linguistic and compositional means and imagery. It also attempts to identify the sources of the poems' effect.

Narrative spaces of lyrical poetry

The work is a summary reflection on reading lyrical text and reader's understanding. It consists of two major topics - narratology and poetics of lyric poem - which are dissolved in the body of the work because of their meeting and direct confrontation. The third major circuit also dissolved in the body of work so that it can be functional for each complete part is poetry of Jiří Orten. Narratology now appears as a universal approach to the analysis of art (besides the literary text also film work, theater performances, paintings, etc., etc.). Poetics of lyric poetry is still adrift in a similar methodology. Considerations of this work are based on the assumption that narrative is one of the fundamental noetic structures of the human mind, and that storytelling is organizing principle of the human psyche. Based on this assumption the phenomenon of lyrical poem approaches to man as a kind of narratives that makes up a fictional world. Thoughts on the fictionality of poems, largely based on Doležel concept of fictional worlds is herein supported by Miroslav Červenka studie Fictional worlds of lyrical poetry. Childhood motiv in Marina Tzvetaeva's work

Abstract. The aim of the thesis is to research an image of a child as a small human being and an image of childhood as a condition of a human soul in the literarily works of a celebrated Russian poetess Marina Tsvetaeva. The poems being researched are written in various periods of Tsvetaeva's literary career, in which she touches upon the subject of childhood. The work concentrates on comparative analyses of selected literature and it should be observed, that the object of the analysis is only a small fraction of lyric poems, which on the whole amount to more than a thousand. There is an attempt to follow the development and changes in the theme of children and childhood in the process of creative evolution and maturity of the poetess. Due to the fact, that thesis concentrates on pomes from different periods of poetess' life, the goal is to support hypothesis that the leitmotif of childhood was one of the most important in Tsvetaeva's creative outlook. Translation Variations of Apollinaire's Zone

The main goal of this dissertation is comparison of different translations of the poem Zone in the czech languague. The key part of this work is an analysis of the translation of selected passage od Zone. The summary which describes each translation of the poem is elaborated on the basis of this part. We can divide the translations of Zone into three basic streams: Karel Čapek and Petr Kopta hold the reproducing style of translation. Petr Skarlant and Karel Sýs prefer a less precise translation enriched with their own invention. Gustav Francl tends rather to the reproducing concept, but we would describe his style more as modernizing. To create sufficiant information foundations for the analysis of translations, the whole first part of the dissertation is dedicated to the theory of artistic translation, the personage of Guillaume Apollinaire, the analysis of Zone and the personages of the Czech translators. The 'Butterfly' in the Poetry of Emily Dickinson

A B S T R A C T This thesis explores the significance of the butterfly motif in the poetry of Emily Dickinson. The first two parts form the theoretical background of the thesis, i.e. they deal with the life and poetry of Dickinson with focus on the poems on nature (and insects). The butterfly motif is introduced from the perspective of mythology in different cultures of the world and then within a framework of English and American literature. The practical part establishes, on the basis of the analysis of fifty poems in total, two main thematic areas: the butterfly as a symbol of beauty and the butterfly as a product (or part) of metamorphosis. In addition to emphasizing the individual thematic contexts in which the butterfly appears in Dickinson's poetry, the thesis also tries to determine the symbolic value of the motif in her verse.

The Life and the Early Works of Josef Mach

The Abstract The Bachelor work is based on the interpretation of life, early work and import of writer Josef Mach. According to these criteriors the work is devided to three thematical spheres. The first part represents the Mach's biography, which gets out of original information from his work, from his correspondence and from the documents of instituitons, which his life was connected with. The second part of the work analyses Mach's early two poem digests from the formal point of view and mainly from the semantical point of view. The last part of the work takes aim at representative secondary literature about Josef Mach and at development of publication and adapting of his work. The aim of this work is first effort of completing of information about this czech poet, who influenced home literature and literature abroad, and second to give the elementary thematical view of his early work.

The submitted bachelor thesis Commented translation: Das Wort und seine Strahlung. Über Poesie und ihre Übersetzung consists of a practical and a theoretical part. In the practical one the translation of selected chapters of the book Das Wort und seine Strahlung is presented. This is a collection of essays concerning poetry translation that deal not only with translatability of lyrics but also e.g. with its origin. The theoretical part is focused on a translation analysis of the original German text, familiarises with used translation strategies and commented on the particular shifts that arose during the translation.
