Experience course for improvement in communication of youth with mentally handicapped

This bachelor thesis addresses the opportunities for social communication development for mental handicapped youths who use the personal assistance social service. The means used for communication development are practical experience courses. A questionnaire was sued for research purposes which proves that personal assistance is used by clients mainly in a school environment and for escorts. Despite this fact, demand for practical experience courses from assistants is considerable. Almost all of them consider them to be an opportunity for their client to get to know their client better, thereby improving the quality of the social service provided. Other research focused on comparison of individual plans for the users of the personal assistance social service. This research confirmed the importance of the work of personal assistants who have a demonstrable influence on the development of communication and socialisation of people with a mental handicap. Controlled interviews with clients demonstrated that the common intense experiences enjoyed during the practical experience course, converted into life experience, can have a positive influence on the relationship between the assistant and client. The content of this bachelor thesis is determining of actual need of assistance for people with Cerebral Palsy and finding an answer this question: "Which is the acquisition of personal assistant for people with Cerebral Palsy?". The methodic accession contains these particular methods: theoretical study of professional literature, questionnaire research among clients and personal assistants, observation and interview. The result of practical research is detection that the personal assistants are beneficial especially in the sphere of independent living, beneficial for families, like a respite service, and like a friend for people with Cerebral Palsy.
Dementia syndrome in clients as a specific phenomenon in the management of workers of the care service.

The diploma thesis deals with the impact of dementia syndrome in clients of social field service on workers in direct care. The thesis connects two theoretical levels, which are closely related to the topic. This is primarily the level of the disease itself with dementia syndrome and the circumstances associated with caring for a sick person. The second level deals with the topic of managing a team of workers in direct care, with a focus on field social services. The research in the sequential variant made it possible to emphasize the moments that are specific in the care of clients with dementia syndrome in the home environment. The intention was to name the stress moments that come with working with a given target group in the home environment. At the core of the pressures mentioned by the respondents, the stress resulting from the unpredictability of the situation was found as a common denominator. It is unpredictability, given the client's illness, in the conditions of the home environment, in which the client is used to making his own decisions, despite the worsened cognition. Care for the quadriplegics in the Czech Republic and United Kingdom, positive and negative aspects from users' point of view

The diploma thesis deals with the field of the care after quadriplegics in the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom. The aim of the diploma thesis is to describe positive and negative aspects of the care provided to quadriplegics both in Great Britain and the Czech Republic from the point of view of the care users, and subsequently to propose possibilities of improvement of the care in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part explains quadriplegia and outline social and health systems for quadriplegics in the Czech Republic as well as in the United Kingdom. This part includes the description of compensatory aids available for clients, conditions of health and social insurance, rehabilitation care options and financial support in both countries. In the research part, based on data interpretation of the data collected by qualitative research technique (interviews that were implemented with quadriplegics living the Czech Republic and United Kingdom), I analyze the situation of the clients of both social and health systems. These interviews revealed several areas of positive and negative evaluation of the existing situation and highlight possibilities of potential future improvement of the care in the Czech Republic.
Job Profile Diagrams of Personal Assistant / Consultant to Person with Mental Disability as the Basis for Training Programs

The aim of this thesis was to compare two positions in one particular organization with the help of an analytical job diagram that has characterized these posts in depth and structure, and to define the requirements and demands on both positions in turn summarizing information useful in the context of training programs or finding suitable staff for these positions . The thesis is focused on a detailed analysis of the activities of a personal assistant and consultant , including claims of mental and physical disabilities. The theoretical part deals with the subject of mental disability in general with emphasis on specific education and communication, that are key to promoting independent and complacent people with intellectual disabilities in everyday life. Furthermore, the theoretical part provides basic information about the above-mentioned organization and the methods they use when dealing with these issues, the final output of which is shown in the job diagram for a particular profession. The practical part of this thesis presents two Proffessiograms for occupations such as consultant and personal assistant, built on fundamental results based on the research methodology.
