Obsahem této práce je zmapovat aktuální potřeby podpory osob s dětskou mozkovou obrnou a nalézt odpověď na otázku "Jaký je přínos osobního asistenta pro lidi s dětskou mozkovou obrnou?". Metodologie zahrnuje studium odborné literatury, dotazníkový výzkum mezi klienty a mezi osobními asistenty, pozorování a rozhovor. Výsledkem praktického výzkumu je zjištění, že osobní asistent je přínosný zejména v oblasti samostatného života, podpory rodiny s členem s dětskou mozkovou obrnou, jakožto odlehčovací služba a jako přítel lidí s dětskou mozkovou obrnou. The content of this bachelor thesis is determining of actual need of assistance for people with Cerebral Palsy and finding an answer this question: "Which is the acquisition of personal assistant for people with Cerebral Palsy?". The methodic accession contains these particular methods: theoretical study of professional literature, questionnaire research among clients and personal assistants, observation and interview. The result of practical research is detection that the personal assistants are beneficial especially in the sphere of independent living, beneficial for families, like a respite service, and like a friend for people with Cerebral Palsy.
