The evolution of the traitor: A psychological analysis of Emanuel Moravec personality Martin Brummer Abstract The dissertation aims to describe the personality of the World War II collaborator Emanuel Moravec. The psychobiographical study applies qualitative methods to gather and interpret the data. Secondary literature, primarily two monographs (Pernes, 1997; Vytlačil, 1993) and several other studies, constitutes the first source of data. The compiling biography of Moravec based on the analysis of the secondary sources was written and attached to the addendum of the dissertation. Books written by Moravec or transcriptions of the speeches of Moravec within the years 1918 and 1943 were the second main source of the data. The total of page of analyzed books amounts to over 4000. The investigation of sources was based on the method of desk research using selective and axial coding. As a result the main categories were established, to which following theories were applied: a) depth psychology of Donald Winnicott and Karen Horney; b) narrative analysis of Dan McAdams and Kevin Murray; c) cultural-historical activity theory of Yrjö Engeström. The interpretation of film narrative in the works of Alejandro González Iňárritu

The presented master thesis explores the interpretation of film narrative in the works of the Mexican film director Alejandro González Iñárritu. Through a narrative analysis of seven feature films, including Amores Perros, Babel, and Bardo - False Chronicle of Handful of Truths, I will explore the director's distinctive approach to the construction of film narrative. The analysis includes aspects of narrative logic and temporal manipulation to identify recurring patterns and narrative devices used in Iñárritu's works. The theoretical part briefly introduces the director and anchors his position in the context of modern Mexican cinema. The methodological part of the work is based on the film theories of David Bordwell and Seymour Chatman. These are later supplemented by the theories of Charles Ramírez Berg and other authors, focusing on complicated narratives. The analytical part of the thesis examines the use of narrative technique, thematic motives, and socio-political contexts present in his films. Since the non-linear form of the story is not the only specific element of his work, I will also focus on a chronological examination of his filmography and artistic development in the time period 1983-2023. The Ecological Impacts of the Decline of Local Media: Climate Action, Perceptions of Climate Tractability, and Media Consumption in Scotland

The climate crisis is widely seen to necessitate global action from citizens across the spectrums of power in society. Previous research has highlighted how community integration, collectivist values, social trust, and knowledge of local routes to action are all seen as enabling factors in encouraging civic engagement with 'larger-than-self' problems like climate change. These factors have also been tied to the presence and quality of localised media. Focused on the country of Scotland, this thesis sought to understand how the quality and localisation of consumed climate journalism affects readers' climate beliefs, climate actions, and cultural orientation. Through a survey (n=104) gathering data on Scottish respondents' values, climate beliefs, climate actions, and media consumption - and a quantitative narrative analysis of the climate narratives present in the outlets respondents described themselves reading (n=227 articles) - this thesis suggests that the quality of climate journalism consumed does correlate with greater climate action, but that it is local climate media that more greatly facilitates civic action. This thesis covers representation of ethnic minorities in Czech television scripted shows. In the theoretical part the main issues are explained, that have something to do with this topic, such as ethnicity and media representation. This phenomenon is also put into a wider complex and examples are given. In the practical part the thesis has a narrative analysis of chosen titles with focus on ethnic characters.

The Boook of Ruth: Narrative Analysis of the Text

The conclusion of this thesis brings an understanding of the deeper meaning of the book of Ruth and its role in the lives of God's followers. The application of the tools of narrative analysis clearly showed that on the background of Naomi and Ruth's deeply human story unfolds another one. It is the story of the Lord who is invisibly directing events and human destinies to present and reveal the work and mission of his Messiah to the whole mankind. The main characters in the story provide an eloquent example of faith to follow and in a very plastic way imply the role of the Redeemer. Thus the story builds up faith of people in the Lord and prepares them to recognize and accept his Messiah. And this may be the mission and function of the book of Ruth in the biblical canon. Intertextuality in Game of Thrones series

This diploma thesis deals with intertextuality in Game of Thrones series from the academic perspective. The thesis presents a comprehensive summary of selected intertexts including their classification according to the different types of semantic connection. The theoretical frame is based on the theoretical approaches of leading intertextuality theorists in literature and culture in general. In addition, it reflects the position of Game of Thrones series in the cultural mainstream, both in regards of its popularity and dissapointment of viewers over the final series. Based on national and international critical reviews, this diploma thesis analyzes the genre changes in Game of Thrones and focuses especially on the shared features with the soap opera genre. The fantasy genre specifics and its possible influence on reality is also briefly described. The methodological part summarizes the analytical tools and formulates research questions. Jephthah (Jdg 11:29-40) - Explanation and Interpretation of a Particular Biblical Text

This thesis focuses on exegesis and interpretation of Judges 11, 29-40. Main method used in this thesis is narrative analysis, via which I investigate and interpret the chosen text as one story unit in its contemporal form. I focus on the course of action, how and with whom the characters act and what is the meaning of these in the whole narrative. I examine the structure of the text, because it's essential for the story told. I examine the context of the chosen text as well, because it's in the middle of broader narrative about Jephthah, of the book of Judges and of the Old Testament. Behavior and actions of characters, as well as facts used in the story, may have different meanings, which may not be apparent from the text itself. The aim of this thesis is to find one or several interpratiations, which will be based in the text itself and its context as much as possible. That will aslo enable me to deal with other intepratations. In the conclusion, I will shortly speak about text's influence on arts and present several themes for homiletic or pastoral use, which the story presents and contents.

The ninth stage of human development: narrative analysis of autobiographical interview Abstract The goal of the work is understanding how seniors give meaning to their experience. Theoretical and methodological bases are formed by the hermeneutic- narrative approach. Thesis is concentrated to the identity and a method how is the identity constructed in life stories. The empirical material consists of three autobiographical narratives collected by the method od narrative interview. For narrative analysis of the interview there are three different interpretive perspective used: Live motives, Ideological setting and Imagoes. The results of analysis are confronted with the concept of "The ninth stage of human development" whose authors are J. M. Erikson and E. H. Erikson.
