i-CT Framework and Application for Sign Language Translation

The aim of this thesis was to create two applications for people with learning difficulties. The first, i-CT Framwork, is also an executable application to be used with the target group mentioned above. As an executable application, i-CT Framework operates as a central tool for managing users, applications, and user restrictions. Development of Gesture Translator application presented another aim of the thesis: this application can translate sign language gestures for people with learning difficulties. Both applications are functioning on Android as well as iOS operating systems.
Lifelong education of persons with mental disabilities

This thesis deals with the specifics of the lifelong education of persons with mental disabilities. The work consists of theoretical and practical parts. Thesis is mainly based on professional literature, laws and regulations Czech Republic and Internet resources. The first chapter deals with the explaning of the concept of mental retardation, its classification, etiology, and psychological traits of these people. The second chapter describes the system of education people with mental disability in the Czech Republic and activities of special education centers and of early care centers. The next chapter is devoted to lifelong learning, Chapter describes general lifelong learning and lifelong learning of people with mental disability, brief history of lifelong education of persons with mental disabilities in the Czech Republic and didactic principles of education for this group and example of this education are also describe in this chapter. Fourth part deals with empirical research. Research is about learning opportunities of adults with mental disabilities in the regional capital Liberec.
The cause of cage beds: analysis of internet forum from 2006 in a perspective of disability studies

This thesis presents results of analysis of internet forum, which appeared under article from internet server aktualne.cz in 2006. The article is dealing with abusing of cage beds in context of on people with mental handicap and people with mental illness focused social care system. For qualitative research was used the method of coding inspired by methodological approach of "grounded theory". In theoretical part of this thesis I analyzed relevant theoretical concepts from area of disability studies and gender studies with special focus on critic of concept of liberal citizenship and social contract theory. The key theoretical concept of the thesis is dichotomy of private and public sphere. In next part of the thesis is I am describing context of causes of cage beds in Czech Republic and I am delineating the basic traits of debate here. In empirical part I am describing five key themes, axial codes. In framework of these themes I am defining the differences of people with mental handicap or people with mental illness. The themes are: space and isolation, efficiency, responsibility, stigmatization and care work. Professional orientation of pupils attending special elementary school

This diploma thesis approaches the development of an idea that mentally challenged pupils form about their future employment and introduces aspects that are involved in such process. This is applied to all ages of students with mild mental disability who attend the Primary Special School in Chabařovice. Another goal is to cover the level and the rate of success of pre-vocational training at this school. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part deals with the explanation of the term mental retardation, etiology and classification of mental disability, education of students with mild mental disabilities, their training and application of these young people with such handicap on the labor market. The empirical research focuses on the development of ideas of these children about their future professional career and highlights the aspects that affect the development during their school years.
Selected aspects of education of mentally disabled pupils in practical school

The diploma thesis deals with selected aspects of education of individuals with special educational needs - pupils with mental disabilities. The theoretical part of the thesis provides an insight into the life of individuals with mental disabilities, describes problems of the target group from the viewpoint of special pedagogy and from the school's viewpoint. Practical part of the diploma thesis provides an insight into a selected school, to show the positives and the problems through the participants in education - pupils with mental disabilities, teachers and parents. The aim of the research is to characterize problems and situations, and to describe the pitfalls of pupils' education in the selected practical school. In order to achieve the goal, it is necessary to collect information about the education proces in the chosen school, to show the pupils' lives and their problems. Then we can make recommendations on improving pupils' support, including the school environment. The diploma thesis is also intended to support students interested in the education in the school - parents and pupils. In the diploma thesis, the methodology of mixed design was used. Canine Therapy in the Center Bazalka, o.p.s.

The bachelor thesis deals with the theme of Canine therapy in the Bazalka Center, o.p.s.. In the thesis I describe the course of canine therapy in this organization. Furthermore, I evaluate the benefits of therapy from the perspective of the workers and the clients. Canine therapy takes form of a group interaction with adult clients with combined disabilities. The work also maps the strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and risks involved in providing canine therapy. The aim of my bachelor thesis was to evaluate the provision of canine therapy in Bazalka Center, o.p.s. in České Budějovice for adult clients with combined disabilities, first from the point of view of workrs and second from the perspective of clients and clients 18+. In my research I decided to use qualitative research strategy, polling method, semi-structured interview technique. The research team consisted of five clients and five workers. The results showed that clients evaluate canine therapy positively. All the clients chose the option "I am feeling good in the presence of a dog". We also got answers to the question what kind of activities do clients prefer. There is an interesting evaluation of the benefits of canine therapy from the employees' point of view. The employees have seen the greatest benefit in improved mental health of clients, enriched environment with new incentives and motivation for action. The bachelor thesis can be used as a source of information for canine therapy workers who can find out how to conduct canine therapy with clients with combined disabilities. In addition, the organization can use incentives for improvement. It also serves as a feedback for the existing canisterapeutical team.
