Augustin Komanec (1885-1953)
Hlava, Luděk ; Kubín, Petr (advisor) ; Šmíd, Marek (referee)
This thesis deals with the life story of Augustin Komanec, dean of Slaný, a man standing among many other anonymous priests who were persecuted for their firm human and Christian attitudes towards the Church and its bishops in the early 1950's. Augustin Komanec was one of those tried by the totalitarian communist regime in fabricated trials. He was not sentenced to death, nevertheless the stiffness of the punishment led to the ultimate sacrifice. He died soon after he had been sent to the communist prison in Mírov. Based on documents available, the work presents Komanec's both civil and clerical life from 1885 to 1948 and then from the communist coup to his death in 1953. The aim of the work is to present the destiny of this brave person, who refused to give in to the totalitarian power and who represented the real enemy of this power: the Church, courageous and free.

Poulová, Anna ; Kocian, Jiří (advisor) ; Cuhra, Jaroslav (referee)
The Bachelor thesis The persecution of the Roman Catholic Church in Czechoslovakia between the years 1948 and 1950 deals with the issue of the Czechoslovak post-war history concerning the reprisals against objectors of the communist regime. The aim of the thesis lies in the processing of the explorational question about the extent of the impact of the communist persecution on the activity of the Catholic Church and about the efforts of the communist regime to enforce the submission of the Church through the synthesis of particular conclusions of given chapters. In the researched period between the years 1948 and 1950 the work describes the consequences of the negotiations between the representatives of the Church and the regime, the importance of the newly issued laws and the results of the selected forms of the persecution of the Church members. The thesis concludes that the Church laws were the most significant impulses, affecting the Church position in the society in the both researched aspects. Kriššáková, Dominika ; Doskočil, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Wohlmuth Markupová, Jana (referee)
The aim of the diploma thesis is to give the most objective and comprehensive view of the personality of Dominika Tatarka primarily from the historical perspective, but also from a literary critical perspective. The view of the creation will, as far as possible, be done in cross-section, with an accent on the autobiographical features of the work, demonstrating a radical view of the communist regime. Emphasis will be given, in particular, to the period of the 70s and 80s of the 20th century with relevant time transitions. The historical perspective will seek to bring the role of the writer's community in the reform movement of the sixties of the 20th century in a wider context and to clarify the specifics of Slovak dissent, with emphasis on the position of Dominika Tatarka in it.

Ecological Issues in Czechoslovakia
Hrubeš, Jan ; Vaněk, Miroslav (advisor) ; Valeš, Lukáš (referee) ; Novák, Arnošt (referee)
Práce se zabývá vývojem ekologického hnutí v Československu. Svoji pozornost zaměřuje především k vývoji ekologických iniciativ a ekologického diskurzu v době komunistické nesvobody a v době celospolečenských změn v listopadu 1989 do období rozpadu Občanského fóra v roce 1991.
